V3 in September 2020 – New LCC Display called Software505
- The coffee boiler temperature goes up to 110 degrees C (230 degrees F).
- Economy mode: Allows users to disable the steam boiler at the push of the minus sign for 3 seconds. If the “E” lights up, then the machine is in Economy Mode.
- Reserve mode: Active if the water stops coming out during an espresso shot. Users can finish performing the extraction WITHOUT wasting any espresso. The LCC display shows a tap icon next to the icon of the brewing time. Coffee comes out for the other 60 seconds. When the supply ends, the “lack of water” icon appears on the LCC display.
- Extraction time – Users will see this on the LCC for 20 seconds at the end of the supply.
- Steam temperature – Users can lower the temperature to 115 degrees C (239 degrees F) from 135 degrees C (275 degrees F) for low-pressure pre-infusion.
Additional V3 2020 Features New LCC Display called Software505
- Real temperature – Push button “+.” The first one is the temperature of the coffee extraction. The second is the steam temperature.
- Automatic purge – An automatic cooling flush that will let users have an ideal temperature for extraction. Users can turn the function on prior to the brewing phase by pressing Coffee Button 1 and Coffee Button 2 simultaneously. Then, the “drop” icon will show up. The function can go from 1 to 6 seconds. The set-up value is 5 seconds.
- Coffee blooming 1 and 2 – Works in Phase 1 of pre-infusion (WITH the steam boiler on) by adding water from the tank to improve the temperature of the pre-infusion for the espresso extraction. Hit the minus sign and select “BLS1” (or “BLS2”) from the technical menu. The coffee blooming function can go from 1 to 10 seconds. The coffee blooming function turns on automatically when making a coffee with the pre-infusion preset.
- Pump blooming 1 and 2 – Users can do pre-infusion WITHOUT the steam boiler on. Users can add water from the tank while using the pump power. Hit the minus sign and select “BLP1” (or “BLP2”) from the technical menu. The pump blooming function can go from 1 to 10 seconds. The pump blooming function turns on automatically when making a coffee with the steam boiler OFF and this function ON.

Features
Dual Boiler System
- Coffee boiler – 0.3 liter (300ml) – The coffee boiler is brass which retains heat better than stainless steel. 1200 watts.
- Steam boiler – 0.6 liter (600 ml) – Made of the quality stainless steel. A truly made boiler will outperform any thermoblock typically found on competitive models in the Lelit PL92T Elizabeth price class! 1000 watts.
- Electricity alternates between boilers, unless the steam boiler is off.
Preinfusion
You can program a different pre-infusion time for each coffee button on the Lelit PL92T Elizabeth.
Pre-Infusion 1- Xx sec. (for button 1) / Pre-Infusion 2 -Xx sec. (for button 2)
When you press either coffee button, the 2-way & group solenoid valve will open for the pre-infusion time programmed. Furthermore, the 2-way solenoid valve hydraulically connects between the steam boiler and the coffee boiler. When it opens, it allows water to pass from the steam boiler in the coffee boiler. A water mixing occurs into the boiler, and the puck is gently pre-wet with a low pressure 3/4 bar max. During this process, the pump is OFF. Once the pre-infusion time is over, the pump will activate. Finally, the coffee brewing will start at full pressure.
Sensible Construction
- Wide passive cup warmer.
- Stainless steel, push-button switches with backlights when engaged.
- Wide water tray in stainless steel complete with self-cleaning grate.
- Brushed stainless steel body keeps the fingerprints off. Do not tell the FBI!
Brass Grouphead
- Brass, brass, and more brass! Did we say brass? Yes, we did! Lot of brass on this 58mm grouphead adds to the temp-stability.
- 3-way solenoid valve to dry up the coffee puck once the espresso extraction terminates.
Vibratory (Vibration) Pump
- Efficient – 41 watts, rated up to 15 bar with air valve bypass. Only 9 bar is necessary to extract espresso, and wattage has no correlation to longevity.
- Cost-effective – Pumps will degrade in performance over time. Replacing a vibration pump will be less costly than a rotary vane pump.
Removable 2.5 Liter Water Tank
- Particle filter – Protects the Lelit PL92T Elizabeth from any unseen particles from entering the boiler. Moreover, you can remove it if you are installing an inline water softener.
- Auto-shutoff – Prevents burning out the heating element. The water tank sits on a spring-activated plate. Once the water is low, the plate depresses the tank microswitch which turns off the heating element.
Anti-Burn Steam Arm and Wand
- Multi-directional – Allows for more movement and flexibility.
- 2-hole steam tip – Allows for maximum steam power pure control of steaming direction.
- Rotational knobs – Located on the right side of the machine. Allows for easier control of the intensity.
Lighted BREW Pressure Gauge
- Brew (pump) pressure gauge – Located above the LCC. Also, measures between 0 – 16 bar. However, the optimal range is between 8 – 9 bar.
LCC – Lelit Control Center
- Temperature adjustment – Change the temperature of the coffee boiler through Lelit’s very intuitive PID display and control center.
- Shot timer – Count the time. Need we say more?
- Preinfusion – Program your pre-infusion to your liking.
- Steam Boiler Shut Off – Want to save energy when not steaming milk? Then, turn off the steam boiler to speed up warm up time and save energy.
Accessories included
- Portafilter – 1 dual spout portafilter. The handle has an angle design which allows it to rest on a flat surface. Thus, this eliminates the need for a tamping station. In detail, the portafilter head and handle have the Lelit logo imprint.
- Filter baskets – 1-cup filter basket which holds approximately 7 grams. Also, a 2-cup filter basket which holds approximately 14 grams. Next, a blind filter basket which you use for backflushing. 58 mm in diameter.
- Tamper – A cheap plastic tamper, common for most espresso machines to keep the overall selling price of machine low. However, we recommend upgrading to a better tamper.
- Scoop – Simple plastic scoop if using preground coffee.
- Water softener (resin filter) – Helps reduce limescale buildup in your machine. Highly recommended to replace the existing particle filter and install this water softener. You can find instructions in the Support tab above.
- Instructional manual – Written in 7 different languages (English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Romanian, Russian). In addition, the instructions also work for the Lelit PL81T Grace.

Notes
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

I purchased a Lelit Elizabeth from you guys in April of 2023 and ever since I received it, I could never seem to figure out how to use the pre-infusion function. No matter what I do the pressure gauge remains at zero and does not move the slightest bit. I even did a hard reset on the machine to see if any of the factory settings would restore the function. I’m not sure if the pre-infusion works at all and if it’s just the gauge that is not working or what. What can we do or try before having to utilize warranty service?

Read more answer nowAsked by on October 24, 2025 1:24 pmAnswered by the adminThe results described in your question are typical of the grind being too coarse, too little ground coffee in the basket AND/OR too little tamping pressure - or any combination thereof. Also, you can test the gauge by using a blind filter for a minimum of 30 seconds and see if the gauge goes up.A I have tried and rechecked each of those steps for using pre-infusion, including using the blind filter, but the gauge still will not budge. Anything else to try?

It is difficult to determine since we do not see the machine. If you are local AND purchased the machine from us, it can be dropped off. Shipping, after we issue a repair authorization with instructions, it may be expensive and run the risk of damage.
I purchased my Lelit Elizabeth from 1st-line in July of 2024. I’ve been having some issues with it lately and am hoping you can help me fix it. Recently I’ve noticed that the pump seems to run repeatedly when the machine is left idle for a long time, and after the pump runs a few times in a row it starts making a deep gurgling sound that it never made before. Also, the display occasionally shows a symbol like ⚠️ with error code 3 i believe. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!

We are sorry to hear this. The issue can be any of the following:
a) water is on the cusp of being too pure. The refill probe can not send the water level in the steam boiler and tries to refill, or
b) The water is hard and the refill probe is coated, which means it can not sense the water level in the steam boiler, or
c) the steam boiler's bleeder and/or safety valve or both is/are leaking due to limescale from hard water. After a descaling, both parts may need to be replaced. Please follow our instructions in our self-service parts portal.
Hi, I have a Lelit Elizabeth which I purchased from you in August 2022. The machine appears to be leaking steam from the top rear. I have attached images that show both the top rear of the machine and the wall behind it. Back in January, it was also making a strange noise that seemed to indicate something wrong with the fill solenoid, but it was only intermittent and then it went away entirely. Not sure if they could be related.

Please unplug the unit from the electrical outlet and allow machine to fully cool down.
The top cover would need to be removed. Try to look for water stains on top of the steam boiler as a fitting may be leaking and would need new sealant or plumbers tape. Check the hoses for any tears.

Lelit USA has started to carry all the parts for Lelit. Please contact them for any parts we no longer stock. Sorry, when there is another importer (ie Breville in this case who purchased Lelit), we carry less parts.
I have looked into the machine and there are absolutely zero leaks occurring. Since there are no leaks this likely points to the refill sensor being bad. Is there a way to diagnose this without just replacing the part? If the solution is replacing the part, the machine is under warranty so how would I go about getting this part replaced? Thanks

If the refill sensor was corroded or coated from bad water, the machine will constantly push water through the safety valve and/or bleeder valve back to the tank as hot water. Or, steam would be pushed back, too. With the machine cold, please disconnect the refill sensor and take a picture of the inside portion. The same with the pid sensor.
What can I use for my water instead? I do not have soft enough tap water to use in the machine which is why I have used distilled water with the packets since I was wanting to avoid scale buildup. The video says that we should just soften our water which is not something I have the ability to accomplish so I'm at a loss as to how to put good water into my machine.

Sorry, we are not water experts. Unfortunately, there is no perfect water, including those with packets. All we can recommend is water low in salts and without any calcium and manganese. If we could recommend the perfect water, we would definitely be in the water business.
Thank you for responding to my questions from 2/18/25. I can take a look at that and see if I see any leaking. Do you have any images or diagrams that show where these components are located? I am doubtful that it is due to scaling as I have been using the Lelit Water Softener since purchase and my water has been distilled with Third Wave Water Espresso Profile packets the entire time as well.

The diagrams are on our web site. Parts 9700043 and 9700052 are the parts that can leak.
And, STOP using formulated waters!!!! People do not realize how, many machines are damaged by formulated waters. Many times it is overheating, but other components can get affected as well.
In follow up to my questions on 2/18 & 2/17 - Hi there, the machine's flow is decreasing day by day. I saw your video on how to open the top of the machine to see if there are leaks and I don't see any water leaking. It seems like when I was using detergent to backflush the machine, not a lot of water came out as well. I am concerned that there might be an issue, but I don't want to DIY a fix in the situation that it voids the 1 year warranty if it turns out to be a manufacturing defect. I also saw Lelit saying that only trained technicians should service the machine, so I am avoiding the descaling route as well. I also noted that the manometer does not reach the green zone with the blind filter.

It takes over 10 seconds with a blind filter for the pump to register on the gauge. We do not use the green zones as we used the numbers which it can range from a minimum of 8 bar and up to 11 bar.
Again, please descale the machine as answered in a previous question.
All manufacturers make statements about trained technician. Unfortunately, many retailers are not trained to handle any technical work.
In follow up to my question: However, I am now running into an issue on my 2024 Elizabeth where the grouphead is not expelling enough water which in turn causes issues on the pressure after the 10s pre-infusion starts. Do you know how I might be able to correct this issue? I do not use the water softener due to the water being too soft. I removed the resin filter and I believe that there was some mold found within the water reservoir which may have made its way into the machine. I ran several more rounds of detergent, but I opted not to descale, since I am concerned that it might damage the internal parts of the machine. I don't see any leaks, so I am not sure if it is a clogged solenoid that is causing no water to run through the grouphead. I see only the grouphead having issues as I get 40g of water in 70s now.

It is best to descale at this point using a descaler, not Cafiza nor any back-flush detergent. After rinsing, use a backflush detergent to clean the grouphead solenoid valve.

I have noticed in the past 2 or 3 weeks that while heating up and while the machine is sitting idle that the pump for my Lelit Elizabeth is kicking on and running for about 5 seconds frequently. I would say that this is occurring about every 2 or 3 minutes. When the pump kicks off, I do notice water draining into the drip tray, and I have not noticed any water leaking out of the machine anywhere else. I believe this issue is related to the steam boiler because when I turn the steam boiler off, the issue stops occurring. I have also noticed that purging my steam wand prior to frothing is taking longer and has considerably more water to purge before steam begins since this issue has began. My Elizabeth was purchased in May of 2024. Thanks!

Either of any of the scenarios are occurring in the steam boiler
a) Vacuum valve is leaking, and/ot
b) Safety valve is leaking, and/or
c) boiler refill probe has corroded
The first two, as we have seen, are from wear and tear, but more likely on a new machine from calcium and manganese build up. The third is froom the same or corrosive water that at at the metal.
It is best to look inside the top cover to see if the steam boiler return to tank hoses are leaking.
I have been careful with my machine in the water tank (do not allow PPM above 60 and usually mix the water with specific minerals) and doing weekly cleanings on the group head. However, I am now running into an issue where the grouphead is not expelling enough water which in turn causes issues on the pressure after the 10s pre-infusion starts. Do you know how I might be able to correct this issue? I ran the grouphead straight into a cup and I got 10g of water in 25s. My Elizabeth was purchased in 2024.

First, 60 ppm TDS can be on the too pure side and not allow an espresso to work properly. Second, watch our videos about water.
Last, please remove the water softener in the reservoir and test without it. Sometimes, when the water softener gets clogged, it impedes the flow of water. Second back-flush the grouphead with detergent. Third, descale the grouphead.

A pump showing 10 bar is usually not the a failure of the vibration pump. This is usually a grinding issue as the grind quality and fineness can maniulate the flow rate on a vibration pump of an espresso machine..
A This happened in the middle of a bag of beans I have dialed in. Wednesday morning, regular shot. Thursday morning, nothing is coming out. So I grind way coarser, and it's just dribbling.Answered by the adminAs long as your machine is at 10 bar brew pressure, this points to the grinder. The only case is your water softener is clogged.
Hi, I purchased the Lelit V3 from 1st-line (order #xxxxxx). Recently, I have been having problems with some of the functions. First issue - failing to reliably detect presence of filled water tank This video demonstrates the issue : https://youtu.be/NbTm0kPz1b0 Currently this issue occurs ~75% of the time. After refitting the tank multiple times it will eventually detect the filled water tank. Second issue - hot water spout not functioning, no hot water emitted Demonstration video : https://youtu.be/_wSbOYQhHWs The hot water spout is consistently not working - this one is not an intermittent failure Could you let me know what are the next steps to getting the coffee machine repaired? If the gauge rests at zero, this usually means the capillary tube is blocked with limescale. Please remove the softener, fill tank with Dezcal descaling solution, and run through the grouphead for 30 seconds making sure no solution touches the body as it will damage. Then, please insert the blind into the portafilter, insert the portafilter into the grouphead, and depress the coffee switch for 30 seconds every hour. The descaling solution needs to work its way into the capillary tube up to the gauge diaphragm.
I am having an issue with my Lelit Elizabeth. The last time I powered it on, I heard a couple of short quiet crackling noises then it appeared to start heating up. I left the room and found it had no power when I went back to use the machine around 15 minutes later. After that, it was completely unresponsive when flipping the power switch. The only issue I have had with the machine previously is that the power switch broke around 1 year ago. I ordered a new switch and replaced it without issue. If there is no power to the machine at all, then the power switch needs to be replaced again. Since this seems to be a repeat occurrence, we strongly suggest you acquire a single outlet surge suppressor (not a strip) to lessen the chances of any surges coming through to the power switch while the unit is powered off.
If there is power to the machine, it may be better to open a new question on the machine's Q&A with the exact issue.

Sorry, Q&A is for simple matters, and this issue is beyond the scope of our free Q&A section. This is more complex and would require professional assistance as this could be a combination of a bad bleeder valve, vacuum valve, solenoid valves, OPV valve, OR overfilling. Another cause of an improper or defective wire connection. Again, much more complex. If you purchased from 1st-line, please use the contact us form on our web site. The power switch can get hit with a surge when the switch is in the off position.
The solenoid valve for the boiler refill probably failed or is blocked or also was hit with a power surge. Diagrams for Elizabeth need to be reviewed as this valve may be different across the versions.
A My machine is V3.
My Elizabeth's Steam Boiler has broken down due to a faulty valve at the top of the steam boiler. I'm afraid I can't identify the part in the diagram. Here are a couple of links to pictures. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0f3SjLfN-IK3nHqfkYFxpovzQ https://share.icloud.com/photos/041b0zjyl1jZrCc56nATCMLog https://share.icloud.com/photos/0fe-BvhP3V6pgRkAi6vdZyaRQ The probe itself appears slightly bent and would need to be replaced as well. Your bleeder vacuum valve and/or steam boiler safety valve may be fouled with water corrosion and kept open which allows steam vapor to be released back into the water reservoir's return hose. You may also have too much water in the steam boiler because the refill probe is corroded and overfilling the steam boiler with toomuch water and not enough air space for steam build up.

We have already advised to not use any formulated waters with any espresso machines we sell. Unfortunately, we have too many customers with issues when using formulated waters. We are unsure if it the formulations or the water is not distilled. We just know when customers call with issues, the first question we ask is the water being used. We suggest to always use the softeners to minimize issues from the water. Unfortunately, we do not have a suggestion for the best water to use as we have not found one.

Hi, I got a 1st Line Elizabeth late December and it’s been great. I’ve backflushed regularly and it’s been good. I regularly was seeing 9.5 to 10 bars pressure on 27-33 second extractions. I recently had a couple of days in a row were the pre-infusion pressure didn’t register, and then during extract O only got around 8 bars of pressure and had 40-plus grams of volume in only 15-2.0 seconds. I went to backflush and it hit only 8 bars and the “relief valve” wouldn’t pop. It just kept pressure up to 30-5-0 seconds…where before it would “pop” in a few seconds. After trying that backflush there was water inside the machine, under the drip tray. Any ideas or troubleshooting I can do?

I purchased Lelit Elizabeth Dual Boiler espresso machine from you and I'm looking for few parts, the resin filer (which I found on your site) and the water reservoir (which I cannot find anywhere). I didn't realize that the Water reservoir can collect dust inside and it looks moldy. Do you sell the water reservoir for this machine so I can replace it? Also, any tips on how to keep it clean? The instruction booklet from Lelit doesn't say anything about cleaning the reservoir.

Although we appreciate their video and your question, we are more of the belief of prevention and less descaling as descaling can start to eat away at metals and orings. Hence, prevention is the best key. Otherwise, we would recommend white vinegar which Lelit does not like. Other formulations can be harsh.
I purchased a Lelit Elizabeth espresso maker from you this past summer. It has a feature where it turns itself off automatically after (I think) 30 minutes. Is there a way to narrow the steam temp window? Right now I have the steam temp set to 140, but it won't start heating again until it drops below 120. So on average it's sitting at 130 after I pull a shot, and if I steam at that temp the pressure quickly drops off. Right now I have to release steam to get it to drop below 120, then start steaming once it gets to 130 or higher to get high pressure for steaming. Default settings (except for increasing steam temp to 140, but it does the same at 135)

Hi 1st Line Team! I’m excited to dive into home espresso and the PL92T look like a great first machine. I move often for work and while I plan on purchasing the US version, I will also live with 220V, 230V, and 50Hz through the life of this machine. We have a transformer and surge protector capable of 15A in the kitchen or might even have 120V outlets depending on our apartment, but I expect power will still be at 50Hz. This there any issue with the power supply, solenoids, boilers, pump, or electronics if we have to switch between 60Hz and 50Hz and may need to use a transformer? Thanks!

A little water is dripping from the o-ring / connector where the hose from the boiler attaches to the valve that is connected to the valve that controls the steam wand. I noticed that the gauges in the machine become fogged and there is excess steam coming from the machine. I removed the top of the espresso machines and noticed that a little water is dropping from the place where the hose from the boiler attaches to the valve that is controlled by the steam knob. I was hoping this issue is still under warrantee. The machine works well and I'm trying to catch the water/steam issue before it becomes a rust issue or damages the machine due to "excess steam" in the machine.

First, thanks again to Jim for helping out and spending some time teaching me about espresso machines this weekend at the Saturday Sidewalk sale. I've been reading a lot about water since and am wondering whether my NYC water is suitable as is for my machine. My plan from talking to Jim was just to continue to use the filtered water I use for drinking + the Lelit in machine softener. However, looking at the NYC water report I'm worried the water will be under-mineralized. (see pages 11 and 12 in the attached). According to the report, the Langelier index of NYC water is between -2.76 and -1.96, which is considered corrosive. Additionally, the ppm is low, at an average of 1.4 grains/gallon or ~24 ppm. I know from talking to Jim that 1st line has heard from a lot of customers with issues regarding adding minerals to their espresso water, and I'm wondering if you all have any advice on my situation. The best I can seem to determine would be to add very small amounts of potassium bicarbonate (rpavlis water), which seems to be the most reliable long term (although some users still report problems). It seems that I'm fighting against corrosion rather than scale but maybe I should just work with the very soft water and hope for the best.

We have whole house softener and it tastes no good and leaves deposits on faucets etc. We use water from water.com; Hinckley Springs delivered in 5 gallon bottles. It is purified RO water with minerals added back in. I tested it for softness with a strip and basically no hardness. The water report for it on water.com states only 5 ppm for TDS. This may cause other problems. They also offer spring water and TDs is 13 - 198 with conductivity of 20 - 300. Basically the report is useless as those numbers are all over the map. This can occur when the knob is over-tightened. Please pull out knob and inspect inside for any damage. Now, it depends upon if tightened closed or open, and a crescent wrench will be needed to turn the stem in the opposite direction. It will open. Remember to close the knob enough to stop the steam, not always until the knob stops. Overestimating causes the gaskets to wear faster.
I’ve had the machine for 3 months. The other morning, I woke to find the machine stopped heating up past 95 Coffee/27 Steam. I went in and the safety valve on the steam boiler had tripped. I pressed it and it felt the physical ‘click’ and the machine worked fine for a day. I don’t know what tripped it.
Today, after making 2 shots, I started to hear screeching and gurgling. I opened the top and saw water bubbles getting vented back to the water tank. I turned off the steam boiler at the LCC and the screeching and gurgling stopped. Coffee boiler is perfectly fine. I have a video of what i just described if you need to troubleshoot.

On top of the steam boiler there may be 1 or 2 safety thermostats. Before removing the two or three screws on the back, please make sure the unit is cooled and unplugged from the wall outlet. The safety thermostat will have the button click when pushed in. This means the unit overheated. Overheat situations come from the PID sensor being fouled up from limescale or oxidation.

Sorry, very popular espresso machines that crush the competition sell out super fast.
Order placed in April 2020.
Since yesterday my Elizabeth has been making gurgling noises, and it appears as though a small amount of steam is escaping through the return line back into the water reservoir. This stops for a time after I release some steam through the wand. I turned the steam boiler temperature down (from 140C to 130C), which seemed to stop it temporarily but it began again this morning.
I tried to repeat the problem this afternoon but it seems to be sporadic, so I wanted to check in with you whether this is something you've seen before and just so you have a note in the file. Is there a way to display the steam boiler temperature on the LCC? I'd like to narrow down whether the boiler is over heating or if the relief valve is leaking.

This is usually an overheat issue caused by water.
The PID sensor can develop a film created by the water which creates an overheat in the steam boiler which forces the safety valve to open.
Before proceeding with a self-repair, the machine should be cold and unplugged from a wall outlet. As long as no one 'fussed' with the hidden programing of the PID, the following can be performed. The top cover needs to be removed, usually 2 star key screws need to be removed and then the top panel lifts up.
The PID sensor (similar) may need to be cleaned with a wire brush. It is the double red wire on the steam boiler in the rear left of the machine when facing front. It can be difficult to remove. The red wire needs to be disconnected at the black connector. Twisting this double red wire will render the PID sensor to not heat at all.
After cleaning, test the machine. If it gurgles, the safety valve may need to be cleaned. It is the horizontal fitting that usually says 5.5 bar on it. If not resolved, then it should be replaced.

Hi There, our family recently received an Elizabeth V3 order from you all before Christmas. I was wondering what is the recommended dosage for the single and double baskets included with the machine. The manual only says “single” and “double”. In another section it mentions single as 7g and double as 14g, but dosing the double at 14g seems under-dosed and makes a soupy mess after pulling a shot, so I’ve been working on 16g. On your site you have a Lelit “double” basket that shows 16-18g. Is this the same basket that is included with the machine? It would be helpful to know the capacities of the included baskets. Thanks.

Sorry or the delay as our system lost a bunch of these requests and we were able to find them.
Steam pre-infusion is more like old school lever action pre-infusion which Jim really prefers for fresh, but not so freshly roasted espresso blends (2-3 weeks after roast). He likes Bloom when the coffee is very close to the end of the de-gassing period (5-10 days after roasting) after freshly roasting the beans. This is his personal preference.

If you are using the standard short spout portafilter, the height clearance is ~4 5/16". If you are using the drip tray stand, the height clearance is ~ 3 5/16".
If you are using the coffee slide portafilter, the height clearance is ~4 1/16". If you are using the drip tray stand, the height clearance is ~ 3 1/16".
The Steam Wand on my Lelit Elizabeth no longer produces good steam. The valve opens properly and a little bit of weak steam and water comes out, but there is almost no pressure. I suspect that the steam boiler isn’t working at all. I checked to make sure in the system that the steam temperature is set correctly and that steam is on.

If you are using distilled, purified water or distilled water, the boiler can be overfilled. This is why water comes out.
On the opposite end, the boiler can also be overfilled because of limescale on the refill probe.
Lastly, remove the steam tip and check inside. There may be a blockage.

New V3 owner here. Machine running fine until yesterday when machine ran out of water. I normally check water level at startup but forgot yesterday. Shot pulled fine without error sign but when I went to steam there was very little pressure, them I say low water signal. Immediately filled water tank but the steam boiler will not heat. Coffee boiler is okay. Tried everything including letting machine cool completely and restart but still no steam pressure. Display blinks coffee boiler temp (200) degrees with solid bar underneath but steam boiler temperature is ambient. Can make straight shots no problem, just no steam. Is there a reset switch on top of steam boiler?? Unfortunately need to get some Torx screwdrivers to open top but want to check with you first obviously! Thanks, Jim and others! Read more answer nowAsked by on September 17, 2020 5:00 pmA The Elizabeth takes E61 portafilters so you've got a lot of options. I bought the "1st-line Bottomless E61 Portafilter with 3-Cup 58mm Basket and ~6.5mm Lips" and it works great.A I have had great luck with this one: Lelit XMC021 Bottomless / Naked Portafilter - 58mm https://www.1st-line.com/buy/lelit-pla580s/ It comes with a larger basket so with the two baskets (~7g/~14g) you will have out of the box and this one, you'll have three basket sizes to work with. The larger basket with this naked portafilter holds up to ~21 grams so it can pull a pretty big shot if you like.
Hello. I purchased the latest Lelit Elizabeth V3 and I am trying to buy a bottomless filter. Would the Lelit PLA580S 58mm Bottomless / Naked Portafilter (https://www.1st-line.com/buy/lelit-pla580s/) work? I read on the 1 review by Ryan Vance that it is only big enough for 12 grams, but the Q&A answer by the admin says it can fit 16-18 grams, squeezing 22 grams. What's correct or like the admin said, does it heavily depend on the coffee grind? Is the handle detachable, meaning can I remove it and replace it with another handle? Is this product also angled?

This portafilter fits into the Elizabeth grouphead. Unfortunately, Lelit like many maufacturers will make changes using the same code number without any notification to us. Since we do not inspect every item of every shipment that comes in, changes will not always be recorded. If we had to inspect every part on every shipment, costs would go up.
So, our information is as of the time our responses are made.
As of this writing, the Lelit booklet states 18-21 grams. Based on experience, this basket may yield up to 22 grams - basically those coffees with a higher density.
Handle is detachable, but will require pliers while damaging during removal.

I'm considering purchasing the Lelit PL92T Elizabeth V2. I have a couple of questions.
First, I’m completely blind and use an application running on an iPhone to read printed text and appliance displays. I understand that to change settings, you need to use the LCC. For example, is it black text on a white background, white text on a black background, or something else? Likewise, what are the colors used in the pressure gauges?
Second, do you all ever run any specials or coupons for this machine? If so, do you have anything planned in the near future?

Read more answer nowAsked by on May 12, 2020 6:48 pmA I don't work for first line but do own the machine. I just measured and the LLC screen is 2.5cm wide by 1.5cm tall. It's white text on a black background. One potential issue you might have in regards to the iPhone app is that many of the menu options use symbols to indicate their function. As an example, the coffee boiler temperature setting is indicated by a coffee cup and the brew time setting is indicated by a clock with a coffee cup below it.A Hi Sean, Measuring the screen display itself, it I came up with 23 millimeters width and 18 millimeters high. The test is White on Black. An issue you may encounter, in addition to what was already mentioned in regards to icons, is that if you attempt to change the setting, there is a very short timeframe by which you may change a setting before it get's out of the setting mode and goes back to it's regular display. Than you have to cycle back to the parameter you would like to change again. Other than that, I highly recommend the Elizabeth.

We are unsure what you mean, as there is only one pressure gauge for the brew pressure. How can it stop functioning, and the claim that the brew pressure is still fine?
If the gauge is stuck, then it maybe fouled up with lime scale. If it is not getting high enough, then it is the result of your grind fineness, amount of coffee in the basket, and/or the tamping presure.
A The issue is exclusively with the pressure gauge. It is not functioning. However the machine itself is functioning fine in terms of its ability to produce espresso. I can claim the brew pressure is I am still producing a 40g shot from an 18g espresso dose in approx 30 seconds. It also seems exceedingly unlikely that this is a limescale issue as the machine is only 4 months old, this issue arose after approximately 2-3 months of regular use, and I have been extremely diligent on recharging my water softener.Answered by the admin Not lighting? Not showing pressure? Pressure gauge frozen at zero? Pressure gauge frozen at a certain bar pressure? Pressure gauge only shows a max of 4 or 6 or 2 bar. Sorry, you are not specific enough and 'stopped functioning' is too broad, just like someone claiming "my car doesn't work". Just to let you know, limescale can build up in as little as two weeks, and even a water softener can be overcome. Please remove the water softener, and descale through the grouphead only. if you do not have a descaler, you can use white vinegar in the reservoir. Run 2 cups through the grouphead. Let sit 20 minutes, repeat procedure 3 times with third time using the blind filter with pump on only for one minute. Rest 20 minutes. Rinse with water three times following same procedure. Let us know how it works.

Thanks for the inquiry. In the almost 2 years we have been selling the Lelit Elizabeth, we have experienced 3 issues with the plastic holding bracket inside. Considering the number of machines we have sold, this issue is much less than 1% of the machines sold. in fact, almost zero percent. If the issue was greater than 5%, then we would advise the manufacturer to put the issue on the improvement list. If the issue increases to 10-20% of machines sold, then the machine goes on a probation list. If the issues goes over 20% of defects, then we tend to drop the machine or grinder.
The button holding bracket is made of plastic for main reasons. First, less heat transfer to the switch when the stainless body can get hot. Second, there is less chance of electrical shock if there was a short in the machine.
We will email you for more information to resolve the issue.

Hi,
When you first start the machine, it will go through a fill cycle, which takes approximately 40 seconds (please see page 13 of the manual). During this (1) time, it is best to put a large container under the grouphead.
If it takes longer than this, the other issue could be if you are using distilled, RO, or too purified water.

I follow instructions from the manual. All you have to do is press and hold the 1 button and then press the lower hot water button. It then cycles through 5-7 backflishes then turns off. Anyway, after I backflush, the water flow becomes sporadic and seems to be full of air and not constant. See the video I posted on Reddit in the link below. I then just have to play the waiting game. Here are the instructions for descaling per Lelit tech support. Please remove any water softeners or filters from the tank or intake hose. A light descaler is Durgol.
Switch on the machine and wait until the set-point temperature has been reached.
• Place a container of at least 1l capacity under the hot water outlet, press the hot water button to dispense water until it stops.
• Switch off the machine immediately.
• If present, remove the water softener resin filter from the tank and fill the tank with 1l of fresh water and add the descaling solution (Follow the dosages stated on the product package).
• Switch on the machine, will start the filling of the steam boiler with the descaling solution.- In the setting menu, disabled the “Pre-infusion time” of the button n.1
• Place a jug under the coffee brewer and press the button 1 to dispense water until the solution in the tank is run out.
• Remove any splashes on the bodywork with a damp cloth.
• Switch off the machine and leave the solution to act at least for 30 minutes.
Rinsing procedure:
• Switch on the machine and wait until the set-point temperature has been reached.
• Remove the water tank, rinse it well and refill it completely with fresh water.- Disable the timer from the settings if activated.
• Place a container of at least 1l capacity under the hot water outlet, press the hot water button to dispense water until it stops.
. In the setting menu, disabled the “Brewing time” of the button n.1
• Place a jug under the brew group and dispense water until it automatically stops (99 sec).
• Wait about two minutes to avoid overheating the pump.- Repeat this operation until at least 3 full fresh water tanks have run out, to ensure that all the descaling residues will be removed.
Can this unit be back-flushed?
- In the setting menu, disabled the “Pre-infusion time” of the button n.1

Hello,
I ordered an Elizabeth from you a few months back and have been extremely happy with it so far. However, a couple days ago when I used the hot water tap it stayed open and wouldn't shut when I pressed the button again to close it. When the pump is on to refill a boiler, water continues to dribble out the hot water tap. Similarly, once the steam boiler is up to temperature, it continues to leak steam and drops of water out of the tap. I tried letting it cool down (overnight) to see if it would close from cooling down and didn't have any luck.
Any advice on how to go about getting this fixed?

There is a programmed offset on the display. This is a common set point for many doible boiler machines because there is a difference of the water temperature where it is measured at the boiler and what exits the grouphead.
So, this is normal.
A Regarding the 45° reading on start-up: Is my thermostat defective? Also, I am asking specifically: What should the temperature of the water or espresso exiting the grouphead be when the boiler is set to 204? I don't have access to the offset formula. If I can get this information, I will know if the espresso is coming out at the proper temp. Thanks. Editor's note: There is no thermostat inside, so there is no defect. The temperature exiting the grouphead can not be measured accurately with a SCACE device as an insta-read thermometer does not control the faster water flow into the cup and it also incorporates ambient temperature. Please focus more on your espresso making skills as the machine is pretty accurate for the price point. If you require more precision, we can discuss way more expensive machines that may better satisfy your needs.
Hello, is it possible and easy to change the pump pressure without voiding the warranty? It came set at 11 bars and is very consistent, but I would like to experiment with 9 and 10 bars if possible. Thanks!

You can change it, but if you turn too far one way or the other, any manufacturer can void the warranty. Please adjust your grind fineness to allow less pump pressure.
Do you have any recommendations for maintenance practices beyond a daily backflush with water and weekly backflush with detergent? Does the frothing wand ever need to be cleaned with detergent if it’s properly purged after every use? Does the group head dispersion screen ever need to be replaced? How often does the resin filter in the water reservoir need to be replaced? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Purge the steam wand after every use. Wipe the wand with moist terry cloth with no detergents.
Recharge the water treatment cartridge minimum 1-2x/month and replace once a year.
Do the electronic controls in any way prevent the Elizabeth from being put on a "smart plug" so that it can be programmed to power on and off via Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple HomeKit?

We do not believe there is an issue as there is a hard power switch that can be left on. We know it works for one customer who owns a Lelit Vittoria which is a similar design.
However, we can not guarantee it working on any espresso machines as we have never tried any of these devices.
In addition, if you will be using any other device to power up any espresso machine, we do recommend using a surge suppressor at 1080 joules rating or higher. In the past, owners of many different espresso machines have experienced burned out heating elements in their boilers when we asked if they had timers installed without surge suppressors. As a preliminary caution, we recommend these surge suppressors for any espresso machine using these electronic devices that control power.
Question regarding steam pressure of the Elizabeth. If you head a good guess, how long do you think it would take to bring up 8oz of cold whole milk (35-40F) to 140F? I've been scouring forums, but this machine is still rather new and not much info is out there.

We have decided not to publish performance data as we would be held liable for such data. There are too many variables....
a) Even though an outlet may be 110 volts, the actual voltage may be ranging from 108 to 124 volts as provided by the power company in a certain locale, and
b) The room temperature may be different, and
c) the temperature of the milk and fat content may be different (we have seen differences in whole milk), and
d) the steaming or frothing method may impact the time, and
e) Each heating element may be slightly different depending upon the actual ohms of the element, and
f) The type of steaming vessel and its temperature may be different.
All of these parameters can impact the timing of milk frothing. If we published our findings, we would have customers claiming machine defects if they could not replicate our findings. One of competitors used steaming water as a benchmark. They were getting complaints of defects because custoemrs could not replicate. It is unfortunate, but it is so true from what we also experienced in the past.
Question regarding pre-infusion. Per Lelit's video diagram (https://i.imgur.com/YY6Ond8.png) and explained around the 2:50 mark in the Lelit "How it works" video on youtube, it seems that the 2-way solenoid valve between the steam boiler and the t valve connector on the brew boiler (that allows cold and hot water to come in) opens up during pre-infusion to bring in water from the steam boiler directly into the brew boiler for a low pressure pre-infusion. If that is indeed the case, wouldn't this raise the temperature of water coming out during pre-infusion? I'm just concerned on how the machine regulates the extraction water temperature during pre-infusion.

In the video, there was a small grouphead purge before loading the portafilter to bring in non-heated water into the boiler. There may be a small increase, but it would be negligible unless the pre-infusion time is very long. The only other alternative is to use incoming reservoir water which is pumped from the reservoir and will bring the temperature downwards for the remaining extraction. Which is the less of two evils? So far, of the many units we sold, there have been no complaints about too much heat.
On many double boilers in higher price ranges, the water incoming to the coffee boiler goes through a steam boiler pre-heat (through the steam boilers HX tube). This can also run too hot, or if the steam boiler is off, the thermodynamics of the water temperature changes.
If temperature instability is a concern, the Lelit Bianca would be a better choice for pre-infusion that pumps room temperature water with pressure on the grinds controlled by the paddle on top of the grouphead. The water to the coffee boiler is always room temperature as there is no pre-heat.
Question regarding the group head. Not being an E61 grouphead, I was wondering if you could tell me how the Elizabeth heats up the grouphead. I see from the Lelit "How it works" video on youtube that the small brass brew boiler seems to sit right on top of the group head, and was curious if that is how or if the grouphead is heated up.

Yes, it is heated from the heating element that heats in the water in the boiler sitting over the grouphead.

15 amp is sufficient, 20 amp is better. 20-30 minutes for warm tip with portafilter in grouphead works best.

Hopefully they will come in two weeks. They need to pass Customs, FDA, then it takes coordination to get out of port.
