This is the new version of the Elektra T1
It does not have a pressurestat to regulate the boiler pressure which is directly proportional to the temperature of the boiler and water in the heat exchanger. This espresso machine has an additional probe in the steam boiler. This probe connects to an electronic controller which regulates the boiler steam pressure. It also will save the heating element from damage from a lack of water in the machine’s boiler. For example, the water company shuts off the water supply due to a water main break.
Other new features on the T1!
This machine is so new that we still have not learned all the programmability of this newly designed machine. Shown below, the touchpad with a K has a series of lights. These lights in program mode can indicate which menu the machine is in. The black electronic control box that has a single series of lights exemplifies the particular setting the machine is in for the particular menu on the touchpad. We will post more here as we learn the different features.
Night Cycle Programming!
The Elektra T1 has a programming feature that can record the top of the hour. With this program, you can also program the top of the hour for the machine to go into Night Cycle (reduced energy usage) and to wake up in the morning (on the hour) to full power. This avoids the need for a separate timer which blasts full power to the machine’s circuitry upon startup.
One can steam milk at the same time as making espresso for large parties
This machine’s high wattage heating element is desired to heat the boiler quickly for quick recovery and temperature stability. The Sixties Series even generates a lot of heat to keep those cups nice and toasty on top – you may want to place this machine with an open overhead area. With a direct water line connection, you never have to worry about filling any water tank, but you do have to remember to recharge the water softener and change the water filter.

Espresso Machine Warning:
- ELECTRICAL WARNING: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. the lack of the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat or the wiring inside.
- WATER WARNING: To increase the useful life of and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and without magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled water, purified water, nor reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale.
- DESCALING WARNING: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. The reason is that too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine.
- Drip tray: Please note the drip tray must be hooked up to a drain line.
- Caution: All surfaces are hot and can cause burns.
- Environment: This machine is intended for home use only. It doesn't have the capacity, nor the approvals, for commercial use.
- Upon receiving: Elektra informed us that every one of their home machines is tested with water and coffee to ensure there are no leaks under pressure and to ensure proper operation when received by the customer. Although they clean each grouphead to the best of their ability, you may find some coffee grinds in the grouphead or on the machine when dislodged from the grouphead during shipping.
- Some assembly required: The steam needs to be installed on the machine using a wrench. To prevent scratches, put a cloth between the wrench and the steam wand nut.
- Boiler pressure: The normal operating boiler pressure read on the gauge is between .75 and 1.2. However, the manufacturer has been asked for machines produced in the USA to set the maximum pressure to approximately 0.9 so the most flavorful espresso can be extracted. Over time, the manufacturer's setting can change as the machine ages. In addition, if the boiler pressure reads 1.4 and up to 1.5, this is a symptom of limescale buildup from calcium/magnesium in the water or oxidation from purified/RO water. In this case, the machines will need to be descaled and the pressurestat will need to be replaced after the descaling. Limescale buildup or oxidation can occur in as little as 1 week from use.
- Water choice: Please note that it is very important to use 'softened water' in these machines, as well as all espresso machines. Hard water will cause these machines to malfunction, and Elektra will not cover the parts warranty due to hard water. In addition, it is extremely important to run the a leva and Semiautomatica machines with water at least 25% full in the sight glass. Running these models with a water level lower than this can cause heating element damage which will not be covered under warranty as this is not a manufacturer's defect. If you return the unit with a damaged heating element, you will be charged for the repair, and the repair charge will be deducted from the credit.
- Body finish:
- Elektra espresso machines feature a high polish finish, with materials ranging from chrome to copper to brass. Most parts are clear-coated. Special attention is required when cleaning.
- Hash products can eat away at the clear coat or even etch the chromed finish.
- Descaling solution can eat clean through plating.
- Paint remover can be used to remove the paint from copper and brass parts.
- Elektra uses varnish to paint the parts.
- The exterior color, which includes a clear coat finish, will naturally change as each each Elektra machine ages. This would not be covered under warranty as color changes are not considered manufacturer's defects.
- Sight glass fluctuation: The water in the boiler is not used to make coffee. The water to make coffee comes directly from the reservoir and passes through a pipe in the bottom boiler for flash heating. If cold water passes through this pipe, the change in temperature will cause the boiler water (sight glass) to fluctuate. The only time the water level in the sight glass should change is when
- the steamer is used and the water level drops, or
- the red button on the left hand side of the base is depressed and held to refill the boiler.
- Safety reset: There is a safety feature on this machine when water is not pumped into the boiler on initial startup. If this isn't done the safety kicks off and the machine will have to be reset. On the bottom of the machine underneath the yellow cap there is a reset button for the safety thermostat. If you purchased the machine from us and are still having issues, you can email us for instructions.

If you have purchased your Elektra T1 from 1st-line Equipment, you must contact us to get your equipment serviced under warranty.
If you have purchased your Elektra T1 from another retailer (not 1st-line Equipment), you must contact them first in order to get your equipment serviced under warranty.
The warranty is limited to manufacturer’s defects only.
Regarding espresso machines: Limescale buildup can lead to problems with your machine. The warranty will not cover any repairs if our technicians find limescale in your machine. Although descaling can be a good alternative to remove limescale-causing minerals (calcium and magnesium), we strongly suggest that prevention is the best form of maintenance. The reason is that descalers can cause wear and tear on components inside an espresso machine. This includes gaskets, o-rings, and other metal components. However, where there is a clog somewhere, descaling will be necessary on the specified part, area, or entire machine.
The manufacturer’s warranty on new equipment is good for a period of 1 year from date of receipt which covers parts. Due to the size of the Elektra T1, labor warranties are not covered as shipping will be very expensive.
If necessary, your Elektra T1 must be sent to a repair facility. If 1st-line Equipment will be servicing your equipment, you must drop off at our facility in New Jersey.

I have a T1 that I purchased from you in 2020. The boiler safety valve is releasing pressure all of the sudden. Goes about 1 hr. It happens every 2 or 3 weeks. Not every day. Pressure at the water filter is usually about 2bars. But it seems higher when this happens. 4bars Does the valve need to be replaced?

Read more answer nowAsked by Lucio on September 12, 2023 10:59 amAnswered by the admin During warm up, the anti vacuum valve will release some steam and a little hot water right before steam pressure is achieved. However, if the boiler is overfilled with water (not normal), a lot of water will exit the anti vaccum valve as the water level sensor is probably corroded from the water. in the aforementioned case, the steam pressure gauge will never go over 1.5 bar. If the steam pressure gauge goes over 1.5 bar pressure (not normal), the PID sensor is probably corroded from the water and it is going over temp. The sensor located on the boiler behind the lower front panel will need to be first disconnected and then removed without bending the wire. Lots of water will drain and the machine will need to air dry for 24 or more hours. The sesnor will need to be cleaned with a wire brush and reinserted with plumber tape. Reconnect the electrical connection then retest after complete drying of the unit.
I'm rebuilding an Elektra A3 and one of the lock nuts on Elektra part #02492011 cracked during reinstallation. I can't find it in stock anywhere. I'm comfortable sweating copper pipe, so a repair should be feasible if I can source the proper fitting. Do you have anything that'll work? Thanks!

Sorry, the 220 volt solenoid will never open the valve on a 110 volt machine.
Answered by the adminThe part that was ordered stated 220 volts in the lower description. You can review the different diagrams (different versions of T1 are near bottom of page) as posted on our web site.
I am in the process of refurbishing my machine. I have a 2010 build purchased from you. I purchased two Parker solenoid valve coils from you recently to replace the old ones, assuming since I have a 220v machine I would need the 220v valve coils (the diagram for that model does not specify which coils are needed). To my surprise the original valve coils are are 110v. Can I use the 220v coils when the originals are 110v? Alternatively would you be willing to exchange the 220v coils for 110v coils? Both of the replacement coils I ordered have not been used or installed. I am well aware of your policy on returns etc. I have many unreturned parts sitting around that I ordered incorrectly, however I feel that ordering the 220v coils for a 220v machine was an honest mistake as nowhere can I find any indication that I needed 110v coils for this particular model. We understand it is an honest mistake. Sorry, as like many other vendors, we do not take parts returns as there is no way to test electrical parts unless we install them on a machine. Elektra usually notes their parts diagrams with 110 V and 220 V designations. We recommend selling them in a marketplace.
My Elektra T1 is leaking water from the water drain pipe, even when off. Water entry pressure is 3 bars. Assume some valve or solenoid is leaking, would like to know where to start in terms of ordering replacement parts. Does not leak anywhere else. Thanks

3 bars is too high. Not knowing the age of the machine, we suggest hiring a professional - the reason is that a part may be replaced and may not need to be replaced. A professional can usually determine in person where the leak is coming from. Otherwise, you may have a leak from the bleeder valve, the safety valve, the HX pipe, solenoid valve, the OPV or a combination thereof. We are sorry that it is not as simple as some people think.

Please check our support page for the manual and parts diagram. Match up to the sequence of lights as there are several variations to determine what the fault is.
I was wonder, is there an option to set in night cycle and get the lights flashing at any time, instead of waiting for the time night cycle was set up originally.

Sorry, the night cycle programming occurs for all days of the week - it can not be programmed with different times for each day.
We believe the night cycle programming locks the user from any usage. The reason is for security. However, we will have to double check if Elektra made any changes on the last batch.

Am I correct that if I purchase a new controller board for my 2011 machine there is no warranty on it? In other words, it if is dead on arrival, I am out $300? I can’t believe they don’t offer some level of warranty on a computer board. Since 2011 was a change over year, is there more than one controller board? My serial number is 110650.

Thanks for the inquiry. Should the manufacturer be responsible if the person installed it incorrectly? Should the manufacturer be responsible if other parts of the machine damaged the old control board as well as the new one? Hence, it states on our web site that parts are not returnable and non-refundable and no warranty.
Our only other option is to not sell control boards and just have everyone ship their machine in for repair. In addition, there were customers who in the past would send back their old defective boards back claiming the new one was defective. A similar event happened recently when a customer tried to return a set of AFTERMARKET Mazzer grinding burrs, which he claimed did not fit his grinder, that were not the originals (OEM) Mazzer burrs we shipped out and had taken a photo of before shipping. This is also why we place serial number stickers.
As stated, the control board may not be your issue. It is a needle in the haystack to source the cause, and this is why we already recommended in a previous answer to have a professional evaluate the machine.

It prevents the boiler from blowing up when the safety valve fails.
I have a 2011 version. My unit is not heating up. All the lights are working on the buttons. They are going through the sequence but the heating element isn't starting. I manually reset the boiler by pushing the button on the relay. Is there something else I can try? I know I have a fault computer so that could also be the problem.

Sorry to hear about this. Heating issues can range from safety thermostats, failed wiring, defective heating element or a heating element past its useful life cycle, defective brain unit, defective pressurstat or PID sensor (depending upon model). In essence, we are sorry to say that it can become a needle in a haystack.

The 2019 models just arrived.
I found a fourth version of the parts list online that shows different parts for the 2011 model. It show two sensors on top and your version of the schematics only shows one sensor. It says it is a safety probe. If you would like for me to email you those schematics, let me know. What does the safety probe do? It looks like the water sensor probe.

Sorry, many manufacturers and Elektra do not warranty electrical parts because they can be damaged upon install or another component in the machine can damage the electronic board box. Considering the age of the machine, it is probably best a professional look at it.

Have a 7 year old T1 Sixties Deliziosa model with one group head. Love the unit, but my building suffered a spring storm, seemingly knocking out the unit. (When I turn it on, it just clicks without the characteristic synchronized green lights flashing across the front.) I suspect a possible electrical / board problem. Here's my question: what is the anticipated lifespan of the machine? Would I be better off finding a local authorized service location or purchasing a new unit. (The repair facility, whom I trust, are reluctant to fix it, but I feel they are being a little rash.)

These machines can last up to 15 or even 20 years. The repair facility probably does not want to touch it because the cause you described can be a lot of time chasing down the multiple problem electrical areas of the machine. We are unable to determine if it is worthwhile fixing or not because we are unsure how many electrical components may be needed.
In towards the back, there is a reset (back side of white part) on the black internal frame. Unplug the unit, and push it in. If it clicks, your machine may be ok. If not, this may be the first part that needs replacement with the understanding one or more other components may need to be changed.

The steam valve uses a spring that engages a washer to engage or disengage.

After a few minutes, you could hear a soft clicking sound ever time the four lights would blink. I believe it was a relay inside the Control Box.
I switched the key back to normal mode and the machine started up as normal.
What part do you believe needs to be replaced.

Yes, new questions need to be created. It could be a bad brain unit or the water has changed TDS.
My 2011 unit has had a lot of strange problems. First was the boiler not filling. Then the boiler was overfilling. Cleaning the water sensors and the device that the overflow sensor fits into initially didn’t fix the problem but after a couple of days of use, those problem went away. - I only bring this up in case it is related to the next problem because I would have thought that cleaning the sensors would have immediately fixed any water filling or overfilling issues. The motor would also surge for a little while on startup. That also stopped happening a couple of days after the cleaning. The final problem is the unit still isn’t starting up properly. When you first turn it on, the heating element safety switch relay will click for several minutes. The first light on the left will blink. Eventually, the first then the second light with blink as if it is trying to start up. Then, all the lights will blink in order and a normal start up will occur. Today, I tried something new. After the clicking started, I turned the programming key. When I did this, the four right lights were blinking. I left it like this for a minute or so. I then turned the programming key back to normal operation. The machine tried to start up. The first light then the second light would blink - then the clicking of the heating element safety switch would happen. I turned the key back into programming mode. I left it that way for another minute or so. I turned the key back to normal mode and the machine started up normally.
Could I have a bad computer? Bad power supply? Bad heating element safety switch? Time seems to be the issue. It takes about the same time for the machine to start working normally whether I just turn it on and hear clicking the whole time or if I just turn the programming key and let the machine sit for a few minutes without the clicking.

As any espresso machine gets older, the causes of issues can get more complex. Very complex situations are outside the scope of our support after the warranty has expired as a professional should evaluate the machine. The main reason is that customers will end up on a wild goose chase buying so many parts that may not be needed and are not returnable (not returnable because we can not test electronics and we also do not want to resell parts that were tried on other machines for repair).
The cause here may not be so obvious. In other words, the sensor may not be bad, but the water TDS may have changed or the wiring or auto refill brain unit may be bad. We can only suggest descaling the machine, cleaning the sensor on the lower front portion of the boiler before having a professional evaluate it.
My unit was built in 2011.
It is having a lot of strange problems. First, some times the boiler goes empty. Other times it overflows. I cleaned the Level Probe and the safety Probe. I even removed and did the best I could at cleaning the holder under the Level Probe the best I could. There is no part number but it shows it under 18 and above 12 in the D.1 Boiler-Assembly diagram.
The second problem is the motor is clicking on and off for over a minute when I first turn it on. Then the heating element safety switch can then click on and off for a few minutes. The first light on the machine on the left hand side blinks when this is happening. After awhile, the clicking stops and the machines starts its normal startup process.

On the bottom tube of part #14, there are two little holes - one on the side and one on bottom. Both need to be cleared as this would create the issues you are experiencing.
Otherwise, it is the quality of the water being used - limescale build up or oxidation on the metals.
Lastly, if the problem still persists, the unit would need to be evaluated by a professional.
When our machine turns on, it is making a loud clicking sound before starting up. It sounds like a relay or a solenoid. I couldn’t isolate the sound. It can go for 30 seconds or longer. I have to shut off the machine. Other times it clicks four or five times and then the start up sequence acts like normal.
It is intermittent. What part may be going bad? Today, the water fill started and started overflowing the boiler. I had to shut off the machine. I wasn’t sure if that was the same part.
Second, I would like to order additional sensors for my boiler. (The ones that connect up to wires with the orange/red protective covers). What are the part numbers ?
I know the one on the left is for the autofill for the boiler. What does the one on the right do?

The two sensors are for minimum and maximum water level. Both can be cleaned as this 'may' the issue with the clicking sound.
Since there are multiple versions of the same model machines, we can only provide a link to the diagrams so each custoemr look up their particular model.
As for the clicking sound, it can be a solenoid valves, brain unit, the water level sensors or wiring. Unfortunately, there are no tests for this other replacing the parts one at a time - old school style.
I have an Elektra that I bought from you (before you moved). It's similar to the T1. (I saw the term La Deliziosa on one of the brochures.) Can this machine take pods, because I have a lot of leftover pods from a Paris trip and just wondering if there is a portafilter that could accomodate them. They are Café Richard brand, round pods 1-3/4 inch diameter.

Please note this is for single dose pods. Sorry, the manufacturer does not have a basket for the double cup E.S.E. pods (~14g).
