- Main Display: Black & white screen indicates the machine is soft-powered off with the switch in the ON position. The economy mode using the leaf in the programming menu will not function in this mode on the display.
- Main Display: Color display showing pressures, temperature, etc indicates the machine is both the power switch on as well as the machine is soft-powered on. The economy mode programming will function as noted.
If you set the “leaf” setting to 1 minute, the machine will go into energy-saving mode after 1 minute, bringing the temperature of both boilers to 80 degrees. (not completely OFF). If you press the display, the display will wake up, but the machine will not heat. To reactivate the heating of the coffee boiler, the grouphead lever must be lifted up for a minimum of 1 second ( like a flush). To activate the steam boiler, the steam boiler must be activated by pressing the black and white steam icon on the main display until it turns green.
Notes:
- After setting and saving economy mode or the “leaf” setting, it is always best to turn the machine off and on again using the main switch.
- The coffee boiler will take up to 5 minutes to return to operating temperature.
- I recommend a minimum of 5 minutes for the “leaf” setting to achieve optimal espresso results.
