Features
Dual Boiler System
- Two boilers: The dual boiler system has a copper boiler for espresso extraction and a copper steam/hot water boiler.
- Optimal size copper boiler: 0.5-liter capacity. This smaller boiler size allows for quicker displacement of stale water. Larger coffee boilers for machines in this class have more difficulty. The boiler temperature is controlled by PID.
- Large capacity steam boiler: 2.0-liter capacity. The boiler temperature is controlled by PID.
- Pull a shot & steam milk at the same time: Steam is always readily available. Hence, there is no wait time going from coffee to steam mode. Works well if entertaining a small group of people.
Classic VBM E61 Grouphead
- True VBM E61: A thermosiphon circulation 58mm grouphead in chromed brass.
- Electronic dispensing: Unique on the VBM Domobar Super Electronic Digital.
- Constantly heated: Hot water circulates from the boiler through the grouphead and back to keep the grouphead and your portafilter nice and hot. As a result, the grouphead temperature is constant and stable compared to other groupheads with a built-in heating element.
Quality Construction
- NEW OPTIONAL Colored side panels: The VBM Domobar Super NOW has a variety of side panel designs that you can stylize your machine with. Check out the different colored side panels we have to offer to purchase separately! Panels are not attached to the machine during shipping.
- Synthetic drip tray: The drip tray on this espresso machine is glowing! Less risk of scratches on this material, unlike on metal drip trays. Additionally, the drip tray has a float that tracks the water levels. Dishwasher-safe.
- Ergonomic knobs and levers: Contributes to accurate water dispersion and adds some personality to the VBM Domobar Super!
- Front and feet: Stainless steel and polished to a mirror finish.
Steam/Hot Water Wand
- Multi-directional: Allows for more movement and flexibility. As a result, there is less risk of burning oneself from the exposed grouphead. Furthermore, the steam performance is very efficient, which will result in making excellent espresso!
- Rotational knobs: Allows for easier control of the intensity.
- 4-hole steam tip: Allows for a faster build-up of microfoam.
Accessories Included
- Side panels: Stainless steel. Optional colored panels sold separately.
- Portafilters: Dual spout & bottomless. Both 58 mm.
- Filter baskets: 2-cup (~14 g) & blind for backflushing. Both 58 mm.
- Plastic tamper: Manufacturers will normally include a tamper like this to keep the overall selling price of the machine low. We recommend upgrading to a better 58 mm tamper.
- Coffee scoop: A simple plastic scoop if you are using pre-ground coffee.
- Cleaning brush: A simple brush for cleaning the grouphead. Ergonomically designed with an angle for easier usage.
- Stainless steel braided hose: For the option to directly plumb in your espresso machine.
- Instruction manual: Available in Spanish, Dutch, English, French, and Italian.
Switchable between water tank and direct water connection:
- Open top water tank: Easy to fill. Easy to clean.
- Water line connection: Easily switchable through the PID controls. Stainless steel hose & fitting are included.
3.5″ Digital Touch Display
- UPGRADED pump pressure profiling: An exciting new upgrade to the VBM Domobar Super Electronic Digital! 10 total profiles are stored with each profile using 7 stages within the extraction. The gear pump can be programmed to change different brew pressures throughout the extraction. Moreover, this is done on the digital touch display by programming the number of seconds the pump is engaged as well as starting and stopping the extraction.
- Hence, there are two areas to be programmed: pump pressure profiles and the amount of time the pump is programmed to stay on (4 saved programs showing cup icons). Thus, the pump can run longer than the programmed profiling OR the 7 stages of pump pressure profiling can be programmed longer than the pump will be engaged. That is why it is important to align these in programming.
- Water tank level sensor: Located on top of the water tank. You will see an LED light when it is time to refill the tank.
- Programmable switch on/off times: You can tell the VBM Domobar Super when to turn on in the morning and when to shut off at night.
- ECO Mode: Use this to increase the espresso machine’s idle temperature to save energy. After 2 hours of not using the machine, the shutdown symbol will show up on the display.
- Count Up: Unique to the VBM Domobar Super Electronic Digital. In this setting, you can adjust the brewing times for a single short or long coffee and two short or long coffees.
- Additional settings: Select your ideal espresso dispensing temperatures, check the under or over-extraction, and access various quick-start functions. Additionally, check the meter sessions, intercepting any faults or alerts.

Notes
- Drip tray: Please note that the drip tray is not drainable.
- Tank Mode: The lever on the bottom needs to be turned fully left when facing the front of the machine
- Direct Plumb Mode: Water line pressure needs to be 35 psi and no higher than 40psi. Lever on bottom turned to the right fully when facing the front of the machine. The cap needs needs to be removed on the water inlet and the 1/8″ FEMALE BSPP included hose needs to be connected. The other side is 3/8″ MALE BSPP. This 3/8″ BSPP needs to be cross threaded to a brass NPT fitting with the possible addition of some plumbers tape. When cross threading, make sure the stainless hose becomes solid, and does not remain loose. If loose, it will leak water.
- There is a switch on the left side of the lower bottom panel to bypass the reservoir sensor for plumbed in mode.
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

Hi, I just received my VBM domobar super dual profiler today. After setting it up and turning it on, running water through it, and going through the menu , the screen stated becoming occasionally sluggish (button presses would do nothing for a while, I’d walk away and whe I came back, it looked like the button presses all finally took place). Finally after trying to pull a shot with just water and pressing “stop”, the shot stopped and would not leave the graph screen. After over a minute, it was still on the graph screen, so I shut the machine down via the power button. When I started it back up, it stayed at the VBM logo on the screen. I tried another restart, but it won’t get past the logo screen. Also tried power down, unplug and hold the power button for 15s. But on starting again it still won’t get past the logo screen. As it starts, I can hear the heater engage. And I tried the hot water valve and can hear the pump run after. But it stays at the logo screen. What is going on with my brand new machine?

We are VERY sorry to read about this. We do bench test every machine before it leaves. This testing includes checking the screen for functionality. Unfortunately, sometimes in shipping, the ribbon cable dislodges itself while the machine flexes. Here are instructions to resolve. We may to start choosing a different carrier for shipping as the current carrier is creating issues for the different makes and models we sell. Again, we are very sorry about this.
Why is the electric version currently lower priced than the digital version? Are you going to no longer offer the electric version? The”while supplies last” comment got me thinking that’s the case. I have concerns over long term support for the dual profiler models and wonder why the electric version would not be preferred over the digital.

We have intentions to carry the electronic version in the future. We have a sale on the electronic version because many users want the manual lever version. However, where there may be multiple users with less experience, such as an office environment, the electronic version is a better option. While supplies last refers to the sale price only.
I got a VBM from you this past year. I now need advice on water softening. I purchased this summer a TDS meter to measure hardness and found my house around 160-170 and the filtered water at the fridge around 130. Measurements taken this week. In the winter, are dramatically higher, showing 220-230 from the tap. Even with a softener packet in the water reservoir, I'm getting numbers around 200. So it's time for me to get a device to soften the water installed under my sink. I'm looking for something with a nozzle can extend 2-3 feet and which can be anchored through the existing soap dispenser hole in the countertop. What would you recommend?

Yes, gt that issue resolved as it will lead to a lot of damage to the internals of any espresso machine.
Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have a solution to meet your under-counter and sink requirements. try to find a water treatment solution to get your TDS ppm between 80-100. Under 80 and the steam boiler may overfill. Higher than 100 means issues will come sooner than later. Keep in mind, at 80-100, there will still be some long term limescale build up. So, an annual descaling may be essential.
Jim I tried using the machine for the first time yesterday. I read the manual and watched several of your videos. i waited over 45 minutes for the machine to get hot. I set the pre infusion the infusion and the post infusion as per your instructions. I made sure the toggle on the bottom of the machine was in the right place. Also made sure that it was turned in the direction of the water tank and not plumb. The tank was full. I pushed the button to begin pulling the shot. i heard the noise coming from the machine indicating that it was working. The yellow And then the green bars lit up on the screen but no water came out of the group head. Also the coffee sensor/bar indicator dial doesn't move. I went through these steps several times and still no coffee. Any suggestions?

Yes, please make sure the flow control is in the full open position.
I have a question-there is a very small toggle on the bottom of the machine without any designation as to what it is for. I may have touched it during unboxing and i am not sure what position it needs to be in. any advice?

The small toggle was to turn off the sensor for the water reservoir when the machine is plumbed in. Remove the reservoir, power on the machine. If the machine indicates no water on the display, then it is positioned for tank mode. If plumbed in, place the switch in the opposing position.
I was setting up my new machine using the menu display. When I press the settings option, there is no calendar option/icon. All I have is the coffee settings and the wrench. The calendar is missing. What am I doing wrong?

It is possible that the calendar setting may have been turned off. To turn the calendar option back on, select the settings menu option. Then select settings, and then mode of operation. You can turn on the calendar from there.
What are the differences between this VBM Super Electronic and the VBM Super Digital Dual Profiler?

Q What are the differences between this VBM Super Electronic and the VBM Super Digital Dual Profiler? answer nowAsked on July 22, 2025 10:54 amA
The Super Digital has a lever on the right side of the E61 grouphead. When the lever is lift up to the 90 degree, horizontal position, there is a switch behind the lever that activates the pump. At the same time, the valves in the grouphead open and close to allow water to extract the espresso. When the lever is brought fully down to the vertical position, the pump stops and the manual valve opens to allow the pressure in the filter basket be relieved to the drip tray via the large spout on the bottom of the grouphead. When the pressure is relieved, the portafilter can be immediately, cleaned, and removed for the next espresso extraction. This is known as semi-automatic dosing.
The importance on using the Super Digital is that the lever is brought down in alignment with the pump pressure profiling, if enabled to fluctuate pump pressure, end time. In other words, the lever should be brought down at the end of the pump pressure programming. If the pump pressure is kept steady at a certain bar pump pressure, like manual mode, then it is not as important.
In the Super Electronic, the manual valve for the pressure in the filter basket is replaced with an electrical solenoid valve. The lever and switch are removed as the machines electronics are controlled by the brain unit that starts and stops the espresso extraction. The addition of a flow meter measures the water for the start and stop action. This is known as full automatic dosing.
The importance of the Super Electronic is that the programming of the pump pressure profiling has an end time of the seconds programmed to stop the pump. For example, one does not want to have the pump pressure profiling end in 35 seconds, but the dosage time of water is programmed for 40 seconds.
We hope these features make sense.
Have a few questions about the VBM Super Electronic: 1. How fine an adjustment is possible on the brew temp? 2. Is the warm up time 1 hour? 3. Is the machine is stock? 4. Does it need to be on a 20amp circuit? Thanks!

Sorry for the delay as we needed to double check one thing. Our answers follow:
1. How fine an adjustment is possible on the brew temp?
The unit can be programmed in F, but some degrees will skip as it mostly programmed internally to follow the Celsius algorithm.
2. Is the warm up time 1 hour?
Any dual boiler in 110 volts and with an E61 grouphead should have 45 minutes warm up. there are machines advertised in less time, but they usually will overheat and require cooling flushes.
3. Is the machine is stock?
As of this response, the answer is yes.
4. Does it need to be on a 20amp circuit? Thanks!
The machine has been designed to work on 15 or 20 amps. The reason is that the power alternates between boilers - one boiler gets power at a time. Coffee boiler is usually priority.
ok, I will look at those. What is the stock basket that it comes with? I got one from Am**on, and I think the stock one is better.

There are customers who are quite happy with the manufacturer's choice of dispersion screen. Some customers do decide to upgrade.
Some customers purchase the Matrix dispersion screen and a E61 competition basket.
