Features
Single boiler, dual-purpose system
- Brass: Boiler is made brass which retains heat better than stainless steel. In general, brass boilers are more susceptible to limescale compared to stainless steel boilers. We highly recommend utilizing the water softener included with the machine.
- Quick warm-up time: From a cold start, it takes approximately 5-10 minutes for the machine to reach its set temperature at 200 °F (93 °C). Before this time, the machine modes will not function. It will take another 5-10 minutes for the rest of the machine (grouphead & portafilter) to fully heat.
- Dual Purpose: This means there is one boiler inside. The machine heats and rests in coffee mode. When the steam switch is depressed, the same boiler heats up approximately in less than 1 minute to get to steam mode. One super nice safety feature is that when the steam switch is depressed to off, the machine will run the pump to get fresh water into the single boiler to bring the temperature down. more importantly, on many other machines that do not have this auto-refill process, you can damage the heating element if it is not submerge in water.
LCC – Lelit Control Center
- Temperature adjustment: The temperature of the boiler can be adjusted to suit most espresso coffee blends through the LCC.
- Shot timer: The shot timer starts as soon as the coffee switch is engaged and can be programmed from 0-50 seconds. The shot timer does not stop the espresso extraction. The coffee button needs to be depressed to stop the extraction. It was set up this way in case a greater extraction was needed.
- Preinfusion: Pre-infusion can be turned on or off within the LCC.
- Fahrenheit or Celsius: AFTER the machine is powered on, the “+” can be depressed and held and then the ‘-‘ key can be depressed and held to convert which temperature scale is desired. Once the scale menu is shown, the minus key can be depressed to change. Check out our technical support article about changing from Celsius to Fahrenheit on the temperature display!
- LCC Reset: Need to reset the LCC to original factory settings? This is easy! Just hold the “+” and ‘-‘ key depressed, then power on the machine until it says “Preset Done” on the LCC. Power ff the machine, then power it back on. please note the machine will attempt to refill the boiler with water, so please open the steam valve open using the steam valve knob.
Pressure gauge
- Brew (pump) pressure gauge: Located above the LCC. Measures between 0 – 16 bar. The optimal range is between 8 – 9 bar, and you can achieve this by the amount of coffee in the basket, the tamping pressure, and the fineness of the grind.
Construction
- Wide, passive cup warmer.
- Stainless steel, push-button switches with backlights when it is on.
- Wide water tray in stainless steel complete with self-cleaning grate.
It has a brushed stainless steel body
Tank/reservoir system
- Particle filter: Protects the machine from any unseen particles from entering the pump and boiler. You can remove it if you are installing an inline water softener.
- Auto-shutoff: Prevents burning out the heating element. The water tank sits on a spring-activated plate. Once the water is low, the spring-activates the plate lifts off the switch which turns off the heating element.
Steam / hot water wand
- Multi-directional: Allows for more movement and flexibility. The wand has a rubber grip which helps you position the wand without burning your fingers.
- 1-hole steam tip: Allows for maximum steam power without running out of steam that can happen on 2 and 3 hole steam tips on a single boiler, dual-purpose espresso machine.
- Rotational knob: Located on the right side of the machine. It allows for easier control of the intensity.
Grouphead
- The 3-way solenoid valve lets you remove the portafilter immediately after the coffee switch has been disengaged. This allows back to back extractions.
Vibratory pump
- Efficient: 41 watts, rated up to 15 bar with air valve bypass. You only need 9 bar to extract espresso, and wattage does not correlate with longevity.
- Cost-effective: Pumps will degrade in performance over time. Replacing a vibration pump will be less costly than a rotary vane pump.
Accessories included in the Lelit Victoria
- Portafilter: 1 dual spout portafilter. The handle has an angle that allows it to rest on a flat surface. This eliminates the need for a tamping station. There is a Lelit logo is imprint on the portafilter head and brown handle.
- Filter baskets: 1-cup filter basket which holds approximately 7 grams. 2-cup filter basket which holds approximately 14 grams. Blind filter basket for backflushing. 58 mm in diameter.
- Tamper: A cheap plastic tamper, common for most espresso machines to keep the overall selling price of machine low. We recommend upgrading to a better tamper.
- Scoop: Simple plastic scoop if using preground coffee.
- Water softener: Helps reduce limescale buildup in your machine. In addition, we highly recommend that you replace the existing particle filter and install this water softener.
- Instructional manual: Written in 7 different languages (English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Romanian, Russian). Instructions also work for the Lelit PL81T Grace.

Notes
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

This build up results for the lack of cleaning the inside of the reservoir with dish-wash soap and water - cleaned and rinsed by hand as dishwashers can create issues. To clean it now, the tank should be filled with about 1/2 bleach and half cold water allowed to sit overnight. Please be careful not to inhale any fumes while sleeping. In the morning, please thoroughly rinse. Next, to neutralize the chlorine smell, please fillt he reservoir with white vinegar and allow to sit until the next morning. Thoroughly rinse, filling up the reservoir several times, with cold water.

Yes, remove water softener from reservoir, fill with white vinegar and run through the steam/hot water wand. It may or may not correct any damage from over-tightening.
Hi! I've had my Victoria for 3 months, and I have an issue where the Steam/hot water dispensing knob can't turn off. Specifically, when I turn on my machine, all of the water when heated comes out of the hot water tube and I can't make espresso because I can't turn off the hot water. When I turn the Steam/hot water dispensing knob, it can't close the valve no matter which direction I go in. What can be done here?

This either comes from water corrosion build up in the valve or overtightening it.
Remove the water softener from the reservoir. Please run a descaler, such as 16 ounces of white vinegar, through the wand and let sit for 8 or more hours, then rinse a half tank through the wand and then test. If it fails, please contact us if you purchased the machine from us, or the reseller if you purchased elsewhere.

I've had my Victoria for 2 years now and I'm starting to notice water dripping out of the grouphead over the filter into my cup. I'm going to replace the gasket and see if that helps. Secondly, when steaming, the knob has started to stick. A quick fix is to turn it closed a 1/4 turn then open wide again. That usually fixes it. Is there a replacement part that would potentially fix this sticky valve situation without replacing the whole assembly?

Read more answer nowAsked by on February 26, 2023 1:51 pmAnswered by the admin It sounds like a new portafilter gasket is needed for the grouphead. With he water softener removed, run a descaler through the wand. Rinse and test. Otherwise.... With the machine old and unplugged from the electrical outlet, please remove the top cover (loosen 2 screws on top below tank cover), remove the knob, and take out the steam valve stem. You may need a new gasket or possibly turn around the existing gasket at the end of the wand. Check inside the valve for any scale build up.
We just purchased a Lelit Victoria and we are excited! We are interested in a puck screen but we are confused with sizing. They come in 49mm ish and a 58.5mm. The Victoria is 58mm but is 58.5 too big for these puck screens and tampers?

Hi, I just watched Java Jim’s video regarding problems, resulting from using certain water in PID machines. Our refrigerator dispenses filtered water, which is filtered using a Whirlpool Ice and Water Refrigerator Filter 3. Is it preferable to use the water dispensed from that refrigerator in my Lelit Victoria machine, or am I better off using my unfiltered Philadelphia tap water?

Doing my routine back flush yesterday, I noticed condensation in the PID LCD and in the pressure gauge. I have not seen this before in owning this over a year and half. Yes, there is a little scratching on the tank when pulling in and out. Yes, you can shave the metal tabs if you like.
Lelit, as well as other manufacturers, will not cover the OPV if modified. Lelit uses a sealant to hold the OPV in place. If the screw is modified, there is a chance it will strip the screw.

Hello I have two questions: 1) I have read that the machine reminds you to run the steam wand after steaming by turning on the pump. What does this mean exactly? After I press the steam button after steaming, so the machine returns to espresso mode, I have to open the steam valve as well and let it run? If so, how long do I have to let it run for before closing the steam valve? 2)I'm curious if you recommend keeping it on in between use? If I use it at 9am, and then again at 2pm, should I turn it off and on again in the afternoon? Or leave it on the entire time? What is the eco mode exactly and can I tell when it is triggered, or does it happen automatically after 30 min of no use?

1) I have read that the machine reminds you to run the steam wand after steaming by turning on the pump. What does this mean exactly? After I press the steam button after steaming, so the machine returns to espresso mode, I have to open the steam valve as well and let it run?
---Yes.
If so, how long do I have to let it run for before closing the steam valve?
---Until the pump stops.
2)I'm curious if you recommend keeping it on in between use?
---Best to power off so there are less life cycles used on the heating element as well as reducing the possibility of damage from electrical surges
If I use it at 9am, and then again at 2pm, should I turn it off and on again in the afternoon?
---Strongly recommended.
Or leave it on the entire time? What is the eco mode exactly and can I tell when it is triggered, or does it happen automatically after 30 min of no use?
---It reduces power consumption. Please refer to the owners manual as some mush older versions did not have this.

Victoria?? own a Gaggia Classic which is a single boiler. I have ALWAYS made my two double espresso shots first, then did my steaming for my 4-5oz. of steamed/frothed milk. Doing it that way has never proved to be a bad thing. So in the way I make my cappuccinos--is there even a need for a dual boiler? I am the only coffee drinker in the household, rarely entertain & when we do, rarely does anyone want espresso/espresso drinks. I only can drink one 4 shot cappuccino per day as my heart literally can't take more. I know people push the dual boiler, but because of what I said above, again do I really need a dual boiler? My Gaggia is fine except I never know what temperature it's at because of no PID, so I think I could have better espresso with a machine with a PID.
Also, Our water in Milwaukee, WI is 136 PPM, according to data on various sites, they say you need (if using reservoir--water softener pouches) if water is above 35ppm and below 85ppm. Now I have never used a water softener with my Gaggia Classic--just descale every 3 months with food-grade citric acid. I only use my machine once a day. All my searching has told me that with Gaggia's it's okay to descale, but then other machines it is a no-no & to use water softener pouches. If you could be so kind to answer my questions, I would really appreciate it.

In our opinion, you probably do not need a dual boiler.
As for the water, descaling eventually eats away at the internal components. We prefer prevention with the use of a water softener, which we asked Lelit to include with the machines. Dual boilers have more stringent requirements for water usage because of the auto refill circuitry. The Victoria has a wider range in water usage.
Just got a Lelit Victoria and reaching out to you because with all my repeated viewings and searchings on how to use it, you all seem the most experienced. Your videos have been very helpful. I am having a problem that makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong or trying to get the Victoria to do something it wasn't meant too. My normal flow is 2 weekday cappuccinos. 1 caf. 1decaf. 20-30 minutes between the two. Weekends my wife joins me so the flow is different and I'd like to do back to back cappuccinos. This weekend I noticed that my machine takes at least 15-20 minutes to return to brewing temperature after steaming milk. Didn’t notice that during the week, because I waited anyway. When I watch the LeLit video and she makes her cappuccino steaming the milk first and pulling the espresso second, I wonder how she got her machine down to brew temperature or if she likes cold milk. Wondering if there is a trick to bring the temperature down to brew temp more quickly for when we sometimes (not in 2020!, but hopefully maybe later this year) have guests. Is my machine running properly with a 15 minute cool down?

Hmmm. You may want to check with your dealer. After the steam is turned off, the pump will auto activate to run water through the boiler, basically reminding you to open the steam valve. This will refill the boiler and bring the temperature down.

Hi, I purchased a Lelit Victoria a little over a year ago. It has been running fine until last week when it started to trip the GFI the unit was connected to. I disconnected the unit for a few days and then tried again. This time everything worked. I, however, open the top of the unit up and noticed the Teflon tubing running from the boiler and the steam wand valve assembly has a pin hole leak. The tube would only start leaking once the boiler generated enough heat to pressurize the tube. This tube has a black dot at each ends. I have an image of the tubing if that would help identify it. Could you tell me how to order either some new tubing and how the couplers used to connect the tubing works, or new tubing with the couplers attached?

The Casa V is by ECM and is a more simple machine controlled by thermostats for coffee and steam mode.
The Lelit Victoria has a LCC which manages the temperature through a PID sensor for coffee and steam modes. It also has a brew pressure gauge to help you if you need to make the grind finer or coarser. Lastly, ont he Victoria, as soon as steam mode is turned off, the pump automatically kicks in to refill the boiler so it does not get burned out from lack of water - the user needs to remember to open the steam valve. On other machines, the user has to manually turn on the coffee or hot water switch and open the steam valve to refill the internal boiler. If forgotten, the heating element can damage as no single boiler machines refill the boiler from the reservoir automatically after steaming.

But, as time went by - it never really got any easier to get the portafilter locked. Infact I've never been able to lock it. Recently it has gotten so tight - that I can no longer move the portafilter enough to get a leak proof shot. Infact since yesterday it is falling out spilling coffee everywhere.

BTW don't expect any support from 1st line. I'm not a fan. Management Note: Thank you for assisting a fellow Victoria owner. We do support many customers every day. And, this impacts our service levels to paying customers. We try to manage this the best we can, even through the COVID-19 pandemic with being short staffed, changing processes, and having staff work from home to keep all safe. We appreciate, in advance, your understanding.A I should add - this happens with even empty portafilter. So, not a dosing issue.A I found a solution to the issue. Bought a new silicone gasket, used a bit of food grade lubricant - and now I can lock the portafilter with not a lot of effort.

Hi,
I would like to buy a Lelit Victoria or a Lelit Anna TEM and I have some question might help to choose.
1. I have seen that Anna has an 57mm portafilter vs the 58mm in Victoria. I understand thet Victoria's portafilter has a bigger weight what is good for heat, bu tis there any other benefit? Does it change the coffee taste?
2. As I have seen in Victoria it is possible to define the temperature of the steam. Is it worth to change? I understand that for brewing it depends on the type of coffee but in case of milk?
3. I have plan to brew a double coffee 4-5 times per day. Should I switch off the machine between the brewings? Does this on and off switching have effect to the lifetime of the machine?

we love our lelit victoria. the build quality and espresso is a huge upgrade from our breville 870xl.
its hard to find any faults with the machine, but I wanted to mention a few things to you before I post a review.. sometimes, after I steam milk, the unit refuses to go back to coffee temperature. i release steam from the wand as you recommended, and 80% of the time, it gets back to 95 fine, but sometimes it just gets stuck, and I have to turn it off and back on, and it immediately says its "OK". its not a big deal.
the only other gripe is the "chrome" paint around the bezel of the PID display had already started flaking off when we pulled it out of the box, and has only gotten worse (see attached photo). For a quality, Italian machine, I would have hoped for more attention to detail here, it just sort of makes an otherwise beautiful machine look a little cheap. I acknowledge that this is a 2016 machine, and maybe that's just the lifespan of the paintwork

On point 1, 15 minutes is a long time. It should be up to 5 minutes. After steaming milk, you do need to open the steam wand and shut off the steam button. Then allow the temperature to come back down by allowing the machine to cycle cold water through the boiler. If you do not do this, then it can take 15 minutes for the temperature to drop from steaming mode to coffee mode.
On point 2, this is correct.

Hi,
For backflushing, we recommend the Ascaso Detergent. Here is a link to the instructions.
The coffee and hot water temperature are on the same setting.
To change the temperature of the hot water (and grouphead). Press the "-" button to get into the menu. The first option is the hot water/grouphead temperature. Press "+" to get into this setting. You should see the temperature blinking. Then use the "-" or "+" to change the temperature. After a few seconds, your setting will save. Please note when navigating through the screen, you must press the buttons within a second or two. Otherwise, it will revert to the previous screen.
A The Ascaso detergent is discontinued. What is the next option for backflushing Lelit Victoria?
1. Does the portafilter have to line up with the lock symbol or does it just have to be tight? I know the instructions say that it will be tight at first, but not sure it should be this tight. I am 6'1" 240lbs and a weight lifter, if I try to get it to the lock position, I have to hold the top of the machine and pull really hard. I can actually see the top of the machine twist some. I stopped doing that and just make sure it is "reasonably" tight. The handle of the portafilter sits at the 7-8 o'clock position, if you were looking down from the top Locked would be at the 6 o'clock position.
2. There were two filters sent with the machine. One is clear one is white plastic. Are they the same? My dogs thoroughly enjoyed the clear one and I only have the white plastic one left

Read more answer nowAsked by on December 21, 2019 8:13 pmAnswered by the admin The OPV only opens at maximum brew pressure created from the resistance of the coffee in the filter basket. At 13 bar, this means your grind is WAY to fine. It's pretty obvious if you start from the return hose in the reservoir. It goes to the T off the pump and the screw is inside. Keep in mid that if you turn too much either way, you can damage the OPV and Lelit will not cover it under warranty.

The OPV is way down below in the back in front of the reservoir. The machine will need to be disassembled. However, the grind fineness and amount of coffee in the basket are the parameters that create the resistance for the pump to push the water through. Hence, the flow control or brew pressure is managed with these parameters.

Sorry to be a pest, but I have a couple of followup questions - still trying to fully understand all the tradeoffs between this and the Mara, and I really appreciate all the help and info you've given me so far - it's why I keep coming back to 1st-Line. I'm asking here because I figure others may wonder about these after reading the existing questions.
One customer asks "The machine sometimes switches from Steaming Mode to Brewing Mode by itself during frothing." and the answer is "Yes, this is a built-in safety feature to prevent damage to the machine." My question is, how often does that happen? And when it does, I guess I have to wait until it has reached steaming temp again before being able to switch back (30-45 seconds according to another answer)? If it's a rare occurrence, it's not a big deal, but I do exclusively milk drinks, and if I need to pause in the middle of steaming half/most of the time, that seems like it would get kind of annoying.
Another answer states: "For cooling back down, this machine actually has a very nice feature to prevent damage to the heating element. When the steam button is depressed off, the pump engages to refill the boiler. When this happens, a empty cup needs to be placed under the steam tip and the steam valve knob needs to be turned to open the steam valve. Once the machine says OK or there is a steady stream of water without steam, then the machine's boiler is brought back near espresso mode temperature." Is there an audible alert in that case? I could see me forgetting to do that unless there's some obvious reminder, even just an alert symbol on the controller screen. I plan to extract first and then steam, since I've always done it that way, so maybe this won't be an issue for me, but I suspect it will because I probably am supposed to turn off steaming when I finish frothing even if I'm doing nothing else afterwards.
Thanks again!

The steaming mode typically will switch to coffee made once the steaming button is depressed off after an amount of time has passed (Lelit does not say how long, but we believe about 2 minutes). So far, no one has complained about this steaming function.
Once the steam function is depressed off, the pump is turned on and this is the audible alert. This function saves the machine from the lack of the proper water level inside the boiler (not the reservoir).
Lelit dose recommendations are 7 gm and 14 gm for single and double

These are ALL guidelines. At the end of the day, try and use whatever works and tastes best in your cup.
The manual included with the machine is fine for basic operation, but
leaves a lot of unanswered questions for the novice, like me. For
example, the shot timer is set for 24 seconds, regardless of making a
single or double shot, but I would expect double the volume of liquid
for a double shot. Is this not correct? Do I run the extraction for 48
seconds? Does Lelit have any additional documentation or video available
that would be helpful for the novice? I did not see anything on their
website

Please read our knowledge base to learn more on making espresso.
When the machine is extracting, I observe typically an ounce or so of
water dripping down into the tray from underneath the machine, directly
behind the black Victoria label. The pressure gauge is indicating about
10psi when extracting.

This is most likely the OPV relieving over pressure tot he drip tray.
I would like to remove & clean part MC752-4 plate. I realize that I can backwash the unit but the plate looks easy to remove looking at the parts diagram by removing the Allen head screw MC752-10. I ask because I don’t want to disturb unnecessarily some unknown spec setting not detailed in the parts diagram.

The screw can be removed for deeper cleaning of the grouphead screen and parts. When tightening, hand tighten and then 1/8th turn tight with the Allen key.
I purchased one from you about a month ago. The machine sometimes switches from Steaming Mode to Brewing Mode by itself during frothing. Is this normal?

Yes, this is a built-in safety feature to prevent damage to the machine.

The Victoria with a PID will allow you to reduce the temperature through the PID display so you have a lower boiling point. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done on the PL041QE as it has thermostats.

Yes, there is an adjustable OPV valve, but it is not easy to get to.
The top panel (2 screws), back panel (5 screws), and internal tank panel (6 screws) need to be removed to access.
One may ask why? The reason is that vibration pumps pump enough pressure to pump the water to pass through the resistance created in the espresso puck - the grind fineness, the amount of coffee in the basket, and the tamping pressure all relate to the resistance. Hence, the pump pressure can be controlled through these 3 paramaters.
The OPV, a.k.a. overpressure valve, only manages the maximum pump pressure by opening the valve when the pump achieves the set point on the OPV. However, it does not control anything lower. Hence, if the grind fineness, amount fo ground coffee, or tamping pressure is off, the OPV does not always help.
How long does it take for the water to heat up from brewing temp to steaming temp, or cooling back down to brewing temp after steaming? Is there a particular order (steaming vrs brewing) preferred for the Lelite?
Thank you.

The timing is different based on different ambient temperatures, different actual voltages in the outlet, and some other stuff. Typically, we see about 30-45 seconds for warm up to steam mode.
For cooling back down, this machine actually has a very nice feature to prevent damage to the heating element. When the steam button is depressed off, the pump engages to refill the boiler. When this happens, a empty cup needs to be placed under the steam tip and the steam valve knob needs to be turned to open the steam valve. Once the machine says OK or there is a steady stream of water without steam, then the machine's boiler is brought back near espresso mode temperature.
Choosing to brew or steam first becomes a personal preference as either process is ok.
Hi- I just purchased a Lelit Anna machine from your company. I'm curious about the Lelit Control System on this machine. How does one know when the boiler has come up to temperature for brewing or steaming? It seems odd that the temperature readout does not seem to provide a continuous indication of the current temperature so that you could monitor what's going on. Am I missing something?

I looked up the Owner's Manual and it says that the display will show the current temperature (blinking while heating up) on the display along with a progress bar. None of the videos, etc. that I've seen show how this works.Answered by the admin
The machine will state OK once the machine is at temp for espresso.
A I'm looking at buying the Victoria or the Anna. I've noticed the same and read postings that say that the Victoria does NOT show real time temperature on the LCC and users are annoyed at this. It's a reason that I'm hesitating buying the Victoria. The User Manual that I see online has no real details on the LCC, such a Reference Manual would. Is there some hidden configuration that will tell it to show the real-time temperature please???
