Elektra Verve Dual Boiler Espresso Machine

The the solenoid valve is blocked or the solenoid itself is not opening the valve.

Check the programming on your phone app.If correct then proceed to descaling.

First step, remove water softener, fill reservoir with descaling solution, and run16 ounces through grouphead only. NEVER open the water nor steam wands in this process.Also, make sue the solution does NOT go below the shorter hose as this can damage the pump and heating elements.

Second, allow to sit overnight. Check in morning for flow. If same, run another 16 ounces and let sit to following morning.

If still an issue, the solenoid would need to be checked for resistance. This can range from 200 to 600 ohms.

This is the grouphead switch you tested. This works because you hear the pump activated as per your last communication.

Please do not assume. The solenoid valve needs to be inspected after the top cover is removed. Please review the Elektra Verve parts diagrams. It is number 6 on the last diagram currently listed (subject to change).

The issue on any espresso machine is the long term sitting idle without operation. at this point, do not heat up the machine because consequential damage can occur to the coffee boiler heating element since there is no water and the pump running constantly can damage the pump.

More than likely, the solenoid for the grouphead is blocked from dried water or limescale. In the solenoid valve, there is a pinhole where the water must pass through when the electrical solenoid valve is energized to open through the lever activating the electrical switch behind the lever.

Again, this can happen on any machine and the entire valve will need to be cleaned and cleared. The unit should be unplugged from the electrical outlet and cooled. Remove the reservoir and top cover (4 screws). The solenoid should be right behind the grouphead. The black box can be removed first for testing as linked below. Then the valve body can be removed for inspection and cleaning.

Less likely is the solenoid valve not opening because it is defective. One can use a multi-meter to check the ohm reading and resistance. For those without a ohm meter or multi-meter or do not know how to use one, our video is a simple way to check, but be careful as we are not responsible for any injuries, damages or losses.

The steam boiler has to stay in the loop for improved temperature stability as the steam boiler feeds hot water to the saturated grouphead.

Flow rates can depend upon different voltages within the same outlet. A 125 volt outlet may have a different flow rate than a 110 volt outlet.

If the flow rate seems slower, it may be your water softener or filter is clogged. The water softener should be recharged weekly (instructions on our web site) and replaced every 6 months. A filter should be changed minimum every 6 months.

Depending upon the age of the machine, there may be limescale in any of the solenoid valves and/orrestrictors. A descaling can be performed after the removal f the water softener or filter.

Wowser! This must have been a recent change. Elektra confirmed that it could not operate with the key in the 3 o'clock position. We even reached out to the Elektra technicians who agreed. However, as many times have proven, we learn things from customers - good and bad. We have confirmed, you can leave the key in the 3 position, and the home screen will show the pre-infusion and extraction timer (including pre-infusion). We are unsure about the purge, so please email us a video.

Per the Elektra diagrams, it seems the Elektra commercial portafilter gasket will work on the Verve.

Sorry, these are questions we would not answer online. Both machines are very good, but the Verve is a newer model so difficult to get long term reliablity. Both make excellent espresso.

Does the brew boiler grouphead heat or the steam boiler heat?

Inexpensive solution. Before ordering the water softener, we would need to check the connection between the Verve's included hose and the water softener.

Unfortunately, there 'can' be some rattling as there is some metal to metal contact. The rotary pump is louder than some others, but it is a tradeoff for the higher quality in the cup this machine typically produces. We will have more videos in the near future.

We had one customer with a Wi-Fi issue so far. There is no phone application. The machine has its own Wi-Fi which you can connect your phone to. Once connected, you can change settings and then get off the WiFi. The machine still operates just fine.

For the one customer with Wi-Fi issues, the machine is here in our shop. The only time the Wi-Fi disconnects is when the mobile phone goes into sleep mode. This customer also had another problem with a grouphead error code. The problem was it was leaking water through the group. We had asked the customer to run white vinegar through the grouphead and he refused. After running vinegar through the grouphead, the dripping stopped and the grouphead error code has not returned. Unfortunately, the customer thought it was a 'bad apple' machine, but it has been running in our shop for the past 4 days (including weekends as we come in to catch up).

First, please use the machine in tank mode for three weeks. We want to make sure there is no issues with the type of water you are using. When plumbing this machine in, please review our commercial espresso machine installation instructions as most of the same applies.

Sorry, these are not available yet. These are good for 6 months. Charge weekly with a salt cold water bath and rinse for 5 minutes upside down.

Sorry, due the situation in Italy, the Verve will most likely be available in 3rd or 4th quarter this year. Yes, it is 58mm baskets. Sorry, we are unsure about the amperage until we have more information from Elektra.
