Features
Dual Boiler System
- Two boilers: The dual boiler system has a copper boiler for espresso extraction and a copper steam/hot water boiler.
- Optimal size copper boiler: 0.5-liter capacity. This smaller boiler size allows for quicker displacement of stale water. Larger coffee boilers for machines in this class have more difficulty. The boiler temperature is controlled by PID.
- Large capacity steam boiler: 2.0-liter capacity. The boiler temperature is controlled by PID.
- Pull a shot & steam milk at the same time: Steam is always readily available. Hence, there is no wait time going from coffee to steam mode.
3.5″ Digital Touch Display
- UPGRADED pressure profiling: An exciting new upgrade to the VBM Domobar Super Digital! 10 total profiles are stored with each profile using 7 stages within the extraction. The gear pump can be programmed to change different brew pressures throughout the extraction. Moreover, this is done on the digital touch display by choosing the extraction curve for espresso.
- Programmable switch on/off times: You can tell the VBM Domobar Super when to turn on in the morning and when to shut off at night.
- Water tank level sensor: Located on top of the water tank. You will see an LED light when it is time to refill the tank.
- ECO Mode: Use this to increase the espresso machine’s temperature when idle to save energy. After 2 hours of not using the machine, the shutdown symbol will show up on the display.
- Additional settings: Select your ideal espresso dispensing temperatures, check the under or over-extraction, and access various quick-start functions. Additionally, check the meter sessions, intercepting any faults or alerts.
Classic VBM E61 Grouphead
- True VBM E61: A thermosiphon circulation 58mm grouphead in chromed brass. Has a manual lever to the right for coffee dispensing.
- Constantly heated: Hot water circulates from the boiler through the grouphead and back to keep the grouphead and your portafilter nice and hot. As a result, the grouphead temperature is constant and stable compared to other groupheads with a built-in heating element.
- Pre-infusion: The lever next to the grouphead activates a microswitch that turns on the pump to pump water through the coffee grinds. Pulling the lever halfway up will open the valve to allow water into the grouphead without activating the pump. Please note that true pre-infusion requires a direct water connection whereby the water pressure from the waterline creates true pre-infusion.
Quality Design
- NEW OPTIONAL Customizable side panels: The VBM Domobar Super NOW has a variety of side panel designs that you can stylize your machine with. Check out the different colored side panels we have to offer to purchase separately! Panels are not attached to the machine during shipping.
- Synthetic drip tray: The drip tray on this espresso machine is glowing! Less risk of scratches on this material, unlike on metal drip trays. Additionally, the drip tray has a float that tracks the water levels. Dishwasher-safe.
- Ergonomic knobs and levers: Contributes to accurate water dispersion and adds some personality to the VBM Domobar Super!
- Front and feet: Stainless steel and polished to a mirror finish.
Switchable between water tank and direct water connection:
- Open top water tank: Easy to fill. Easy to clean.
- Water line connection: Easily switchable through the PID controls. Stainless steel hose & fitting are included.
Accessories Included
- Side panels: Stainless steel. Optional colored panels sold separately.
- Portafilters: Dual spout & bottomless. Both 58 mm.
- Filter baskets: 2-cup (~14 g) & blind for backflushing. All 58 mm.
- Plastic tamper: Manufacturers will normally include a tamper like this to keep the overall selling price of the machine low. We recommend upgrading to a better 58 mm tamper.
- Coffee scoop: A simple plastic scoop if you are using pre-ground coffee.
- Cleaning brush: A simple brush for cleaning the grouphead. Ergonomically designed with an angle for easier usage.
- Stainless steel braided hose: For the option to directly plumb in your espresso machine.
- Instruction manual: Available in Spanish, Dutch, English, French, and Italian.

Notes
- Drip tray: Please note that the drip tray is not drainable.
- Tank Mode: The lever on the bottom needs to be turned fully left when facing the front of the machine
- Direct Plumb Mode: Water line pressure needs to be 35 psi and no higher than 40psi. Lever on bottom turned to the right fully when facing the front of the machine. The cap needs needs to be removed on the water inlet and the 1/8″ FEMALE BSPP included hose needs to be connected. The other side is 3/8″ MALE BSPP. This 3/8″ BSPP needs to be cross threaded to a brass NPT fitting with the possible addition of some plumbers tape. When cross threading, make sure the stainless hose becomes solid, and does not remain loose. If loose, it will leak water.
- There is a switch on the left side of the lower bottom panel to bypass the reservoir sensor for plumbed in mode.
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

Q I should have mentioned that I am operating the VBM in Manual Mode answer nowAsked on June 30, 2026 1:23 pmA
The mode should not matter. Also, if you did not purchase OEM burrs, the replacement burrs may have been designed for a different rotation.
I bought a VBM dual digital profiler from you a couple of years ago. I have brand new burrs in my Macap M4 grinder. Recently, I can only get about 4 bar pressure (and poor crema) during extraction regardless of where I adjust the flow control. Previously the same coffee and grind would extract at about 7 bar. However when backflushing I get the full 13 bar of pump pressure, so I doubt the pump is the issue. Maybe something in the flow control? Do you have a service recommendation? Erik Landsberg

Sorry, this seems like a grinder issue.
First, the blind filter test indicating a 13 bar pressure means the pump is working properly.
Second, the gauge on the group head indicates the resistance created by your puck. The flow control normally allows control up to the amount created by the resistance in the puck in the filter basket. Hence, there is not enough resistance created by the coffee puck.
Is the Vibiemme Domobar group head Flow control device (https://www.1st-line.com/buy/vbm-grouphead-flow-control-kit/) compatible with the VBM Double Dobomar (I believe I have V3). I ask as the E61 grouphead on my VBM has the two hex head bolts which differs from most espresso machines.

To our knowledge, this flow control works on all VBM E61 group-heads since 2005, when we started importing VBM..
Following up on my prior issue with "Pressure Transducer Alarm"...after power off/on the machine worked for a day but now the unit won't power on at all. I'm not sure if this is related to the alarm or some other electrical component or issue. I've also contacted 1st Line via email to set up warranty/service repair.

I purchased a VBM Super Digital in ~March 2024 and have enjoyed trouble free operation since then. This morning I turned the machine on & allowed to warm up as usual, then pulled a shot & steamed milk for 1st coffee of the day. Machine was left on and when I returned a little later there was a "Pressure Transducer Alarm" message on the screen. I turned the machine off, unplugged it and allowed to cool down. I then turned it back on and it heated up and I was able to make a 2nd coffee. The error message hasn't returned (yet). Please let me know what I should do if I get this alarm again. This specific alarm was not called out in the User's Manual.

So far to date, we have not replaced any. However, one VBM dual profiler ddual boiler espresso machine customer had this issue pop up. They descaled the machine and the issue disappeared. So, please check your water. If the coffee boiler transducer, a descaling through the coffee boiler should be performed. If the steam boiler, then the part (can be more than one version) needs to be removed and inside descaled manually as the descaling solution in the boiler will not get up as high as the pipe for the transducer.
Hi there. I am wondering if you have specific instructions on how to descale my VBM Super Digital DUAL PROFILER Dual Boiler Espresso Machine espresso machine that was purchased in 2024?

Dual boiler descaling instructions are on our web site.
In the support sections for the VBM Super Digital Dual Profiler and the VBM Super Electronic Dual Profiler it says that you should not turn off the steam boiler, and it lists the steps to take if you do turn it off. It was written in December 2021and says that VBM has not indicated any updates on current stock or new stock. If this is still true why would 1st-Line continue to sell a product that is known to be defective? Also if this were still true, how did 1st-Line create YouTube videos last year that show how to turn the steam boiler on or off two different ways? Please confirm whether or not you can turn the steam boiler on and off?

Please note a design choice is not always a defect. For instance, we do sell a dual boiler machine that has water pre-heated through the steam boiler (which must remain powered on) to offer enhanced coffee boiler temperature stability.
In other words, a machine will react differently in the different scenarios: coffee boiler powered on only OR bother boilers powered on.
In 2022, it was decided to allow the user to turn off the steam boiler.
As our web site states, manufacturers make changes without any notification. This includes, and is not limited to, all European manufacturers as well as Asian manufacturers (i.e. China) and can be changes as little as a small thermostat, safety thermostat or even wiring.

The Super Digital has a lever on the right side of the E61 grouphead. When the lever is lift up to the 90 degree, horizontal position, there is a switch behind the lever that activates the pump. At the same time, the valves in the grouphead open and close to allow water to extract the espresso. When the lever is brought fully down to the vertical position, the pump stops and the manual valve opens to allow the pressure in the filter basket be relieved to the drip tray via the large spout on the bottom of the grouphead. When the pressure is relieved, the portafilter can be immediately, cleaned, and removed for the next espresso extraction. This is known as semi-automatic dosing.
The importance on using the Super Digital is that the lever is brought down in alignment with the pump pressure profiling, if enabled to fluctuate pump pressure, end time. In other words, the lever should be brought down at the end of the pump pressure programming. If the pump pressure is kept steady at a certain bar pump pressure, like manual mode, then it is not as important.
In the Super Electronic, the manual valve for the pressure in the filter basket is replaced with an electrical solenoid valve. The lever and switch are removed as the machines electronics are controlled by the brain unit that starts and stops the espresso extraction. The addition of a flow meter measures the water for the start and stop action. This is known as full automatic dosing.
The importance of the Super Electronic is that the programming of the pump pressure profiling has an end time of the seconds programmed to stop the pump. For example, one does not want to have the pump pressure profiling end in 35 seconds, but the dosage time of water is programmed for 40 seconds.
We hope these features make sense.
