Features
Of course, this machine gets better! You can use the direct Wi-Fi connection on your smartphone for many different settings. To learn how to activate the Wi-Fi connection for iPhone and Android, view the instructions in the images on top!
Use an app on your smartphone to control settings (brewing temperature, pre-infusion time) before the brewing process.
NOTE: To get into Wi-Fi mode, the keylock needs to be turned on to the 3 o’clock position. To turn off Wi-Fi mode, stop the phone app, and get into brew mode, the key needs to be turned to the 12 o’clock position.
Please note that the phone app has to be closed AND the Wi-Fi connection has to be terminated before the espresso extraction can start. This means the phone app is not live time during the espresso extraction process.
To point out a change in Elektra’s standard stainless steel design. The Elektra Verve has a stainless steel body with wooden side panels, knobs, and a portafilter.
A rotary pump, dual scale pump pressure gauge/steam boiler pressure manometer, and a saturated brew group integrated coffee boiler.
The unit consists of a brass coffee boiler and a high-volume stainless steel steam boiler managed by a pressurestat. The 4-hole steam tip helps froth milk faster and easier.
- Switchable: Can easily go from direct connect mode to 5-liter tank mode and vice versa.
- Open top water tank: For easy cleaning and water refilling. We do however recommend removing the water tank to fill it with water. Comes with a plastic cover with holes for the water line. A metal lid covers the water tank.
- Water softener: Already attached inside the reservoir.
Portafilter – 1 58mm dual spout with wood handle.
Filter baskets – 1-cup (~7g), 2-cup (~14g), & blind (for backflushing).
Keys – For programming.
Trip tray extender – For smaller espresso cups. Distance from the drip tray to the portafilter spout is ~4.25″. Distance from the extension to the portafilter spout is ~3.25″.
Power plug – Detaches completely from the machine for long-term storage.
Water line hose – For connecting to a direct water supply. Comes with fittings on both ends.
Drain hose – For draining the drip tray.

Notes
- Top Panel: As we test each Elektra Verve, we always find some marks/scratches on the top panel. This is due to the cup warming grills and unfortunately are unavoidable.
- As of August 12, 2020, Elektra has decided to start with only one wood option. Other wood options may be available in the future, but there are no expected time frames.
- The motherboard battery is a CR1225.
- Natural Wood Product Disclaimer: Wood components used on espresso machines are made from natural materials, so variations in grain, color, texture, and finish are normal. Minor imperfections, knots, and differences in appearance are inherent characteristics of genuine wood and are not considered defects. General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. - Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. - Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.

There is no liquid being sucked into the group head .. I can hear the pump running what the water level in the reservoir remains un changed (even from cold start .. no liquid was taken in).

The the solenoid valve is blocked or the solenoid itself is not opening the valve.
I am not getting water coming through the group head. I removed and serviced the solenoid (there was no residue on it). Pressure does build up - but when I pull the shot (pre infusion does get a little bit water .. but not on the third or fourth pull) .. but when the pump kicks in .. so water comes through. I have a video but do not have a place to upload it .. please advise what to do.

Check the programming on your phone app.If correct then proceed to descaling.
First step, remove water softener, fill reservoir with descaling solution, and run16 ounces through grouphead only. NEVER open the water nor steam wands in this process.Also, make sue the solution does NOT go below the shorter hose as this can damage the pump and heating elements.
Second, allow to sit overnight. Check in morning for flow. If same, run another 16 ounces and let sit to following morning.
If still an issue, the solenoid would need to be checked for resistance. This can range from 200 to 600 ohms.
I am getting hot water and Steam from the hot water and steam wands. The machine had not been used for a month or so and when I started it up the other day .. I am not getting any water from the main group (at cold start and after pressure has been built up). I did did out the solenoid (not setting the valve attached to it as per the shared video). In anywise if I check the resistance across the tow terminals of the solenoid - I am getting OL (infinity) .. so that can't be good!. This is the one attached to the lever which manages the flow to the main group head. Please advise.

This is the grouphead switch you tested. This works because you hear the pump activated as per your last communication.
Don’t seem to have the valve part of the solenoid. The solenoid should be okay since I do hear the clicking sound when I operate the lever (when the Machine was plugged in) Where would the valve be located?

Please do not assume. The solenoid valve needs to be inspected after the top cover is removed. Please review the Elektra Verve parts diagrams. It is number 6 on the last diagram currently listed (subject to change).
Need your expert help .. I have an Elektra Verve machine purchased in August of 2024 and starting it up (after a couple month or so of non operations) .. I am not getting any water (not even drops or drips) out of the main group head. There is no water 1) when the machine is started and the lever is pulled for about 5 - 8 second to get water flowing through the head and 2) once the pressure is built up (about 10-15 minutes later) .. and pulling the level still doesn't have any water coming out of the group head. Also the green light which usually comes on once the machine is ready isn't coming on after the initial heat process is complete. I am getting steam in the steam wand and the hot water wand - no issues. When I pull the lever (hot or starting up machine) .. I do hear the pump going/working but no water. I removed the screen from the group head (single flat head screw) .. and tried to see if water would flow .. no luck. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

The issue on any espresso machine is the long term sitting idle without operation. at this point, do not heat up the machine because consequential damage can occur to the coffee boiler heating element since there is no water and the pump running constantly can damage the pump.
More than likely, the solenoid for the grouphead is blocked from dried water or limescale. In the solenoid valve, there is a pinhole where the water must pass through when the electrical solenoid valve is energized to open through the lever activating the electrical switch behind the lever.
Again, this can happen on any machine and the entire valve will need to be cleaned and cleared. The unit should be unplugged from the electrical outlet and cooled. Remove the reservoir and top cover (4 screws). The solenoid should be right behind the grouphead. The black box can be removed first for testing as linked below. Then the valve body can be removed for inspection and cleaning.
Less likely is the solenoid valve not opening because it is defective. One can use a multi-meter to check the ohm reading and resistance. For those without a ohm meter or multi-meter or do not know how to use one, our video is a simple way to check, but be careful as we are not responsible for any injuries, damages or losses.
I was wondering if you have ever thought of how to make the Verve not heat up the boiler. I only use the Verve for espresso and would like to take the boiler out of the loop. Yes I know that it would be involved....but I am comfortable switching machines from 120VAC to 230VAC and back. This should be easy like jumping out the steam pressure loop...and jumping out the heating element? Or am I missing something?

The steam boiler has to stay in the loop for improved temperature stability as the steam boiler feeds hot water to the saturated grouphead.
i wanted to see if you could provide me the expected flow rate from the group head without coffee? when i run the machine without coffee, the flow looks slower than normal. pump pressure is good. i spoke with a roaster friend and they said there might be scaling in the flow restrictor? i looked at the parts diagram, but didnt see one. curious if there is a way to test that it providing the adequate flow before sending the unit to a tech.

Flow rates can depend upon different voltages within the same outlet. A 125 volt outlet may have a different flow rate than a 110 volt outlet.
If the flow rate seems slower, it may be your water softener or filter is clogged. The water softener should be recharged weekly (instructions on our web site) and replaced every 6 months. A filter should be changed minimum every 6 months.
Depending upon the age of the machine, there may be limescale in any of the solenoid valves and/orrestrictors. A descaling can be performed after the removal f the water softener or filter.

I have been doing this with my iPad connected to the app for over a year now. I have my iPad come up to the Home Screen of the Verve during all operation. It is very useful when pulling shot to actually see pre-infusion and brewing timers. Also at start-up for 3 second purge of grouphead. Am I missing something?

Wowser! This must have been a recent change. Elektra confirmed that it could not operate with the key in the 3 o'clock position. We even reached out to the Elektra technicians who agreed. However, as many times have proven, we learn things from customers - good and bad. We have confirmed, you can leave the key in the 3 position, and the home screen will show the pre-infusion and extraction timer (including pre-infusion). We are unsure about the purge, so please email us a video.
