Features
Heat Exchange System
- 4 Stage Programmable Temperature Setting: Torre Espresso has established 4 average temperature levels which correspond to the following water temperatures at the outlet of the shower with a heated filter holder: LOW 90°C MID 92°C HIGH 94°C HOT 96°C. Use lower settings for darker roasts, and higher settings for lighter roasts.
- Copper/brass, insulated: Copper is one of the best metals for conducting heat. It is also susceptible to limescale. To combat this, we highly recommend softening your water. The insulation also helps retain heat better.
- Pull a shot & steam milk at the same time: Steam is always readily available. Therefore there is no wait time going from coffee to steam mode.
- Auto refill: A sensor in the boiler detects when the water in the boiler is low. This prevents burning out the heating element.
E61 Grouphead w/ Flow Control
- ERGOLIFT: Torre Exclusive grouphead lever to get your hands away from the close water wand on the right hand side. This also creates an easier work flow by bringing your hand to the flow control knob.
- Flow control: Adjust the control of pressure while pulling an espresso shot. This allows you adjust the flavor profile of your shot.
- Pressure gauge: Gives a more accurate reading of brew pressure, especially when adjusting the flow rate.
- Consistent heating: Hot water circulates from the heat exchanger through the grouphead and back to keep the grouphead and your portafilter nice and hot. This keeps the grouphead at a constant, stable temperature compared to other groupheads that have a built-in heating element. With the heat exchanger/thermosyphon system, only fresh water from the water tank is used for the espresso extraction. The water in the heat exchanger flows to and from the grouphead.
Rotary Vane Pump
- Made of highly quality stainless steel.
Tank / Reservoir System
- Open top: Makes it easier to fill and clean.
Joystick Steam / Hot Water Valves
- Joystick lever handles: Easily pull in any direction for quick activation. Both joysticks will lock in the “up” position for hands-free operation.
- Multi-directional: Allows for more movement and flexibility.
- Rubber grips: These allow you to adjust the wands without burning your fingers. Please note that after very long periods of steaming or pouring hot water, even these can get hot to the touch.
- 2-hole steam tip: Allows for a slow gradual build-up of microfoam.
Dual Pressure Gauge
- Pump pressure: Left side measures the amount of pressure built up in the grouphead when pulling a shot.
- Boiler pressure: Right measures amount of steam is available.

General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

There is only green light for over. Assume boiler ready when gauge goes to 1.1. Any indicator that boiler full? Manual suggest red light will come on to indicate this.

Again, sorry, Italian manuals are not gospel. There is much room for improvement on many instructional manuals for many manufacturers. The manual also states 24 month warranty by the manufacturer and distributor which is less than what we offer on our web site.
The machine will not mention the internal OPV, nor bleeder valve as these are internal parts. The boiler refill is automatic via a probe sensor. So, it will fill up when needed and the red light was never needed, anyways.
If you read closely, the reference to the red light in the current is for the Luigino, not the TSP version. The TSP is in place of the red light. And, we have Torre build models to our specifications which can outdate the models and descriptions on the instructional manual.

Right now, we do not have one. We are working on it. The red handle one has lips that are too think and will require a grouphead gasket change which the new gaskets may not allow proper seal on the OEM portafilters.
Received Luigino. Fantastic machine. Terrific shot. Warms up very quickly! Steam amazing, no need for boost. Only issue for me is small tank that will need refilling….. You guys packed it superbly. Thanks for your help and patience with this purchase. Love the build and looks…And feel of machine… Couple of questions because the manual not really helpful and I speak Italian. Your Alfredo videos have been my guide.
1. No boiler light though manual says red lamp there in diagram and start up description?
2. Asssume have to flush steam and prime group head before every series of shots?
3. I use machine in the morning only usually. Should I turn machine off after daily use or leave it in eco mode…From what I gather eco mode is standby? What is best for the machine?
4. How do I know its in eco mode? Do I have to press button to put it back on per manual? When I press it goes to steam boost? But going to steam boost takes it out of eco mode? Turned off steam boost and ready to go.
5. Cleaning Back flush (Use Joe Glo still have some) but do not run Clean Caf through system? 6. What is the button below main lever for? Nothing in the manual? It's the push button in middle

Q1. No boiler light though manual says red lamp there in diagram and start up description?
A1. Sorry, this was an error in translation as the good folks at Torre do not speak good English. Or, the simple error of not updating or change to a green light lens.Q2. Assume have to flush steam and prime group head before every series of shots?
A2. Flushing steam know.Flushing grouphead 1-2 seconds is preferred by Torre to clean the screen right before the first extraction.Q3. I use machine in the morning only usually. Should I turn machine off after daily use or leave it in eco mode…From what I gather eco mode is standby? What is best for the machine?
A3. Eco mode reduces power by 99% to save energy. We normally recommend powering down an espresso machine if not being used within 2 hours. So, you have a choice.Q4. How do I know its in eco mode? Do I have to press button to put it back on per manual? When I press it goes to steam boost? But going to steam boost takes it out of eco mode?Turned off steam boost and ready to go.
A4. There is no indication other than no steam nor hot water will exit the respective wands. The grouphead will also start to get cooler. To get out of ECO mode, please lift the lever up to full position, then bring down OR press the steam boost/settings button once.Q5. Cleaning Back flush (Use Joe Glo still have some) but do not run Clean Caf through system?
A. CleanCaf is for coffee makers now and less for espresso machines. Back flush detergent is for back-flushing the coffee oils and grit from the grouphead screen and gasket only.Q6. What is the button below main lever for? Nothing in the manual? It's the push button in middle
A6. There is a power switch on the left. The light to the right, then to the right the steam boost/setting button. The part right behind the grouphead to the right of the steam boost button is the spout for the OPV & bleeder valve.
Does Luigino have a solenoid valve?

Yes, for the boiler refill.
I'm having an issue with the bottomless portafilter with my Luigino espresso machine. Coffee sprays out of the side of the filter. I've tried adding less coffee and making sure it's flush when put on the group head and even when tightened. The other filter works fine.

Typically, if leaking from the grouphead gasket when the filter handle inserts) bottomless filter handles require a coarser grind. If there is spraying from the holes of the basket itself, this is common with bottomless and usually indicates particles of coffee partially stuck in those holes. The coffee particles need to be removed, and sometimes, running water from the grouphead with the portafilter upside down (basket enclosed within) can clean it out. otherwise, a needle may be needed.
We're planning on purchasing the Luigino and the Baratza Virtuoso for a morning coffee drive up service in the back of the restaurant. There are a couple more things I'll need. A bottomless portafilter, a couple stainless steel pitchers, and a heavy, metal tamper.

Great machine! Thank you for choosing.
We have a low budget bottomless. We also have the Torre bottomless with dark walnut.
A 58mm tamper would be needed. We do have an assortment of steaming pitchers. 20 ounces or less would be recommended.
I've had the Luigino with flow control for about 2 weeks, I haven't been able to pull a decent shot yet. The espresso comes out very watery with no crema at all, more like coffee than espresso. I started out with a fine grind (Eureka Mignon Libra) and water would continually exit around the perimeter of the filter basket and run down the handle as though there is not a good seal between the filter basket and the holder. I am using a less fine grind now so the water isn't pouring out of the filter basket but I still can't get a good shot. The manual is useless and doesn't mention flow control at all, so I'm not sure if that's part of the problem. I've set that between 1/2 and 1 revolution open with no success. I once opened it to 1.5 turns and water went everywhere when I pulled the shot, as in out of the filter basket, not in my cup. Not sure what to do but this isn't working as of now.

We are sorry to hear and read about this. Although we solved this on 1-1 privately, others can make sure to understand a few things:
a) Learn the differences between the brew pressure gauge on the grouphead and the pump pressure gauge for the rotary pump on the Luigino, and
b) Check the grouphead gasket to see if there is too much buildup of coffee, or the screen or gasket may have slightly displaced, and
c) Make sure to watch our video when there is no crema.
Good day, how are things? So far this expresso machine is accepted by all I've shown it too. Now as I chose a color, I was wondering if you have a bundle deal with a commercial grinder that's affordable and fairly small?

What's the point in having a rotary pump if you can't direct plumb it. I understand it's quiet and maybe there are other benefits, but why would they make a machine with that pump that you can't plumb ?

Ummm.... Mobile catering is one instance, and there are customers who can not plumb when renting apartments. In addition, a no plumb option allows for a very small compact unit. Plumbing may occur as a future option, but it is not even in the plans yet.
Thanks, the temperature was set to medium. I did not try the steam boost., yet. I’ll try it tomorrow. I was going off the review, of the Alfredo that seemed to have enough power without the boost. Sounds like it’s something I’m doing wrong. With the initial shot then my back to back shots, I had to do a flush for each one to build up pressure.

Please try to clarify which pressure. When referring to pressures, there is pump pressure, brew pressure at the grouphead, and the steam pressure.
I just received my Torre Luigino yesterday and was able to use it a few times this morning. I have a couple boiler pressure questions. I watched the instructional videos on the Alfredo. Why does the boiler not maintain pressure in the green zone when not in use? (It is not in eco mode) It sits at about 0.6bar. I have to flush it every time before pulling a shot to have the boiler kick on to raise the pressure back into the green zone. Is this normal? I have pre-infusion set to 5 seconds so I have to wait 5 seconds flush a couple seconds, then wait for the boiler to build pressure. It was not in the eco standby mode. Also, when steaming milk, the pressure drops right away to nearly 0bar. Thank you.

Thank you for your order. We reached out to the manufacturer to insure we have a proper answer:
"We must start from the assumption that it is a machine with a heat exchanger, and not a multi boiler, so the temperature of the coffee depends strictly on the temperature of the entire boiler.
Based on the setting, from what you write I assume that the machine is in LOW it is normal for the boiler pressure to drop during periods of inactivity. This behavior is due to the TSP control algorithm, which prevents the group from overheating, so flushes of more than 2 seconds are not necessary.
Automatically, at the first brewing, the algorithm adjusts the temperature to obtain good performance in the case of a subsequent coffee. This is why you can see the variations in boiler pressure, which are completely normal.
And also, this is why the Steam Boost function has been included, precisely to have maximum steam power even when the machine is in LOW mode"
