Either the water softener is clogged, the pump is degrading, or more likely, your coffee grind is off. Please read our article.

Yes, a sticky or bouncy switch usually means a replacement will soon be needed.

Overfilling the boiler is the result of

a) A blocked boiler refill solenoid valve - happens from hard water or a machine that sits for more than 2 weeks. Run descaler through the grouphead and let sit overnight. Rinse one tank full next morning. If problem persists, the valve may need to be cleaned manually OR replaced as it may be defective, or

b) the boiler refill probe or the inner wall of the boiler has limescale and needs to be cleaned, or

c0 the water is now too pure and it refills constantly.

As you can see, this is not a simple correction. It is best to have a local repair company evaluate the machine.

Please note these parts are for the Mara X, and not your model. Your model is designed differently. Please check the magnetic float in your reservoir as this would be the intermittent issue.

It could be, but rare, to replace the microswitch. However, this is just a guess as we would need to have the machine in front of us with a tester. Please note phone support is reserved for machines under warranty. Machines out of warranty are handled through Q&A as purchases do not include lifetime phone support.

Here is the link to the diagrams. Please click on your model and then search for the part number of the switch by the water reservoir. If it still doe snot work, the machine will have to come in for service.

Please check the magnetic float in the reservoir. Make sure it moves back and forth in the internal tube inside the reservoir.

Make sure the reservoir is completely full when operating.

If it still beeps, lift the reservoir and put back down. If it continues, power off the machine for 30 seconds. If it continues, the machine will need to be shipped in for evaluation and repair as it may be more complex to figure out - meaning a defective switch, sensor or brain unit.

This part has been replaced a few times before. The threads need to be cleaned on the backside of the valve. This part needs to be inspected for any hairline cracks and replaced.

There is only one temperature setting which is only for steam which is used for espresso. Since your machine was running hotter, the descaling would bring the PID sensor in line for proper temperature. Unfortunately, you were probably used to the higher steam temperature which produced more steam velocity and quicker results.

Sorry, we do not have formal instructions. The machine needs to be cooled down, unplugged from the electrical out, and have the water reservoir and drip tray removed. Them remove the screw on the top cover which needs to be removed. The PID wire (usually double red) needs to be disconnected from the black 2 pin connector. The PID sensor needs to be removed without twisting the wire (twisting causes damage). Wire brush the sensor on the inside and re-assemble.

Overheat on espresso machines are caused by limescale on the PID sensor or pressurstat. And, limescale can build up in as little as 2 weeks.

Please remove water softener, if attached to intake hose, and test machinewithout it. If problem stops, then water softener needs replacement.

Please check with the blind filter in portafilter and if problem stops, then it is an issue with the coffee grind consistency.

M107A is one of the largest baskets to fit. Some IMS baskets will work, and some will not due to the depth.

Please remove the water softener, descale through the grouphead only with and without the backflush disk. Using the backflushing disk insures the overpressure valve is descaled. Rinse and test. The only other scenario is the thermosyphon loop is running very hot and creating a syphon stall.

Water quality is usually the evil in temperature changes. It is important to use SOFT water, and not hard, reverse osmosis, purified, nor distilled water in any espresso machine. NON-soft waters.

When the temperature is lower, this is usually because water is not circulating properly through the heat exchanger and thermosyphon loop. This happens when buildup occurs in the gicleurs that restrict the water moving to and from the boiler.

We suggest removing any water softener from the reservoir, run a quick descaling through the grouphead, rinse and then test.

This is usually resultant from a blockage in the boiler refill solenoid valve. Black rectangular box on left hand side. There are 2 of them, and it could be a wire has a loose connection instead of a blockage.

This should fit.

Which 1st-line portafilter? There is more than 1 version.

Please clean under the drip tray and empty the drip tray.

We suggest putting a few white sheets of paper underneath overnight. Check for leaks before start up in the monring. Then check after warm up. Then check after making espresso. This will determine where the leak is occurring. With the machine unplugged and cold, please remove the top cover and check for any leaks inside.

Yes, the Bianca kit will work on the Mara.

On a PID sensor, the wire needs to be disconnected first from the brain unit as to not entangle nor twist the PID thin wires. Never pull, twist nor tug on the PID wires. This is to avoid damage.

The machine has limescale which has covered the PID sensor or PID programming on the PID delta settings can cause error readings. You can read more on our tech support page.

The sensor can not read the correct temperature, and then it overheats. After removing the body panels, the PID sensor needs to be disconnected from the brain unit first then making sure to NOT twist the thin wire when threading out of the top of the boiler making sure to never twist the thin wire. It will need to be cleaned with a descaler on the portion inside the boiler and inserted.

We can not stress enough to SOFTEN your water! Your machine included a water softener and it needs to be recharged minimum twice per month and replaced every 6 months.

Do you need the restrictor or the pipe or both?

The grouphead should be backflushed every 50 espresso extractions with detergent.

Descaling should only occur if there are problems with the machine. To prevent lime scale, the Lelit water softener

Please advise the maximum reading of the steam pressure gauge.

If over 1.3, your PID sensor may need to be removed and manually cleaned. When removing, please make sure to disconnect the other side because the PID wire is very sensitive on all machines to breaking if it winds or tangles.

If under 1.3 , you may have limescale on the refill sensor or the bleeder valve. Typically, the bleeder valve or similar vacuum valve will leak a lot. Or, as you describe, there is a constant refilling and this can be caused by water that is too pure. Pure water can be corrected with a pinch of salt in the water reservoir and see if it stops filling.

The above parts are usually not touched during a descaling as there are near the top of the boiler.

You may have the wires in the incorrect position. Did you take pictures before disconnecting the wires?

This sounds like the machine has limescale, which has made the pressurstat stick in the closed position. The closed position constantly sends electricity to the heating element, and the boiler goes into higher pressure. At some point, the safety valve can open up.

We suggest descaling the machine and changing the pressurstat. The diagrams can be reviewed based on the model you have. Check inside your machine to confirm the part you need.
