Features
E61 Grouphead w/ Flow Control
- Constantly heated: Hot water circulates from the heat exchanger through the grouphead and back to keep the grouphead and your portafilter nice and hot. This keeps the grouphead at a constant, stable temperature compared to other groupheads that have a built-in heating element.
- Flow control: Adjust the control of pressure while pulling an espresso shot. The Bezzera Aria flow control device comes 50% preinstalled. You only have to put the wooden knob on top, tighten it with a allen key screw that is already included and put on the grouphead gauge.
- Gauge: Reads the actual pressure in the grouphead as you change the flow.
PID Controls & Dual Pressure Gauge
- Boiler temperature: Easily adjust the temperature of the boiler from 176 – 212 °F (80 – 100 °C).
- °C > °F: Easily switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
- Boiler pressure: Located on the top half. Indicates how much-steaming power is available.
- Pump pressure: Located on the bottom half. Indicates the amount of bar pressure during coffee extraction.
Heat Exchange System
- Copper, insulation: The boiler is copper which retains heat better than stainless steel. Typically copper boilers are more susceptible to limescale when you compare to stainless steel boilers. Therefore, we highly recommend using a water softener. The manufacturer wraps the boiler with insulation for maximum heat retention. This helps with temperature stability for the espresso extraction and also helps save energy.
- Pull a shot & steam milk at the same time: Steam is always readily available. Therefore there is no wait time going from coffee to steam mode.
Switchable Tank / Direct Water Connection
- Easy to fill & clean tank: With the open top, it makes it very easy to refill the tank with water. However, the best practice is to remove the tank when filling. The open top also makes it easy to clean and rinse all the way to the inside bottom of the tank if necessary.
- Easy to switch to direct water connection: After hooking up the water line hoses, there is a clip you install in front of the water sensor where the tank sits. Then there is a switch on the bottom near the back you change from “tank” to “net”.
Steam / Hot Water Wand
- Joystick lever handles: Easily pull in any direction for quick activation. Both joysticks will lock in the “up” position for hands-free operation.
- Multi-directional: Allows for more movement and flexibility.
- Rubber grips: These allow you to adjust the wands without burning your fingers. Please note that after very long periods of steaming or pouring hot water, even these can get hot to the touch.
- 2-hole steam tip: Allows for a slow gradual build-up of microfoam.
Rotary Pump
- Quiet operation: Rotary pumps are necessary for direct connect capable machines since vibration pumps cannot handle the incoming water pressure. The main benefit that you will experience is that they are a lot quieter.
Parts & Accessories Included
- Portafilters: 1 Dual spout & 1 bottomless. 58mm diameter. Wood accent handles.
- Filter baskets: 1-cup, 2-cup, & blind for backflushing.
- Tamper: Solid 58mm with Bezzera logo. No need to spend money on another one.
- Cleaning brush: For cleaning the grouphead.
- Scoop: If you are using ground coffee.
- Metal clip: Needed for switching to direct water connect.
- Flow control knob: The flow control is preinstalled, you only need to screw in the wooden knob on the top.
- Grouphead gauge: In the bag, there are 2 extra gaskets to put inside when screwing the gauge in.

Notes
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

Q So would you recommend adjusting the OPV dial to reach 9 bar? answer nowAsked by on November 12, 2025 2:41 pmAnswered by the admin
We normally suggest not to adjust the OPV. The reason is damage can can occur if done too much or incorrectly and most manufacturers will not cover this damage under warranty. Use the flow control to control the brew pressure of the water saturating and extracting the puck.
I recently purchased a Bezzera Aria and have a couple questions: When the flow control is dial to be fully open, and when pulling shots, the pressure gauge reads at 12 bars. Should I adjust so that it’s at 9 bars? Also the hot water dispenser starts giving water when activate but in a few seconds produces a lot of steam as the hot water is dispensed. Is there a way to correct this? Otherwise it’s been great.

The pressure gauge on the grouphead reads the pressure created by the puck in the basket as well as the flow of water. So at 12 bar, the OPV inside is opening up.
The hot water wand was not designed to take more than 4 ounces of water at a time per refilling of the boiler by the pump. The water is pushed out of the bottom of the boiler from the steam on the top. So, this is normal, and there should be a 4 ounce limit to prevent damage to the heating element which would be exposed to air inside the boiler.
Bought my own Bezzera from 1st-line a couple years ago. Getting one now as a gift. One of the reviews mentioned a possible "package" deal with a grinder purchase? Is this currently the case? If so, which grinder(s)? What is your typical shipping time to San Francisco CA? Can the machine be shipped without the invoice (since this is a gift), and sent to me directly instead. Thank you. Larry

The V725 should work fine. Water with very little manganese and/or calcium would work best. However, distilled, purified, or reverse water can NOT be used. Please read some of our tips.

Q What bottomless portafilter will fit this machine? answer nowAsked by on January 26, 2024 1:54 pmAnswered by the admin
Typically, our standard bottomless portafilter fits as long as the machine was purchased from us and not modified. Please note other dealers can have slight variations of this same machine, and there is a possibility that this portafilter does not work correctly nor fit properly..
