Overview
VBM Lollo Electronic 2 Group HX Espresso Machine – 240V
Introduced in the early 2020s, the VBM Lollo Electronic 2 Group Espresso Machine 240V brings together traditional Italian espresso engineering with modern, workflow-driven upgrades for busy cafés. Built around a heat exchanger (HX) system and VBM’s 1964 (Kometa) group heads, the Lollo delivers consistent, thermally stable extractions across multiple drinks at once. Designed for higher-volume environments, its dual-group configuration allows baristas to brew simultaneously while maintaining speed and consistency during peak service. What sets the Lollo apart is its balance of classic mechanics and practical innovations—like joystick-style steam controls for rapid milk production, programmable volumetric dosing for repeatability, and an automatic cleaning cycle that simplifies maintenance. With an extra-large electric cup warmer and durable construction, the Lollo is a reliable, production-ready machine built to keep up with demanding daily use.

Features
VBM 1964 (Kometa) Group Heads
Equipped with dual VBM 1964 (Kometa) group heads, the Lollo delivers classic E61-style performance with the ability to brew multiple shots simultaneously. Each group uses a thermosiphon system paired with mechanical pre-infusion, ensuring stable temperatures and even puck saturation across back-to-back extractions. The heavy brass construction retains heat effectively, promoting consistency during high-volume service. Designed for durability and ease of maintenance, these group heads provide the reliability and forgiving extraction profile that traditional Italian espresso machines are known for.
Joystick Steam & Hot Water Controls
Built for speed and efficiency, the joystick-style controls allow instant activation of steam and hot water with a simple push. On the 2-group Lollo, dual steam wands enable simultaneous milk preparation, making it easy for multiple baristas to work at once. The quick-action design reduces wrist strain and improves responsiveness compared to traditional knobs, helping streamline workflow during peak hours. It’s an ergonomic upgrade that supports faster drink production without sacrificing control.
Electronic 5-Button Keypad
Each group is equipped with its own 5-button volumetric keypad, allowing precise programming of shot volumes for consistent, repeatable results. Baristas can quickly dial in single and double shots while maintaining accuracy across both groups, even during high-volume service. Manual override options provide flexibility when needed, making the system adaptable for training, specialty drinks, or fine-tuning extractions. This setup ensures consistency across multiple users and shifts.
Large Electric Cup Warmer
The spacious electric cup warmer is designed to handle the demands of a busy café, keeping a large number of cups evenly heated and ready for service. Preheated cups help maintain espresso temperature, preserving crema and flavor from extraction to serving. The expanded capacity supports smoother workflow during rush periods, ensuring cups are always within reach and properly warmed when you need them most.
Automatic Cleaning Cycle
The integrated automatic cleaning cycle simplifies daily maintenance, helping keep both group heads free of coffee oils and residue. With minimal manual effort, the system guides users through the backflushing process, reducing downtime and ensuring consistent performance. Regular cleaning not only protects internal components but also preserves shot quality over time. It’s a practical feature that helps maintain reliability in high-use environments.

Notes
- Water line connection: Please note this model connects to a direct water line connection. There is no water reservoir.
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?
