Sorry, there may be a loose wire connection somewhere. Or, it is taking to long to pump. We suggest running a descaler through the grouphead and water wand. Then rinsing. Make sure to remove any water softener before descaling.

The problem is the formulated additives. It is a known problem we discovered in 2020 and we created a video about this. as you can see, people did not believe us. Stop using this water.

The Lelit water softener needs to be recharged every 2 weeks and replaced every 6 months.

You will need to check if your machine has a PID sensor inside which can be cleaned or a pressurestat which needs to be replaced after full descaling. Unfortunatel,y, some S models had the PID sensor and we are unsure which ones.

The grouphead needs maintenance.

Pre-infusion is built in the pump. With the lever in the down position, lift it up all the way. Without coffee or a blind in the portafilter in the grouphead, the pump pressure can reach up to 4 bar. With the portafilter with a blind basket, the pump pressure will get to 8-9 bar between 7 and 9 seconds. This is the built in pre-infusion.

On tank models, lifting the lever at about 45 degrees dow not really do pre-infusion because there is no water line pressure from a plumbed in connection. Hence, with a water reservoir, this lever pre-infusion only uses a small amount of steam and hot water in the grouphead to push the water through. In most cases, not enough steam pressure and not enough hot water to get through the espresso coffee grinds in the filter basket.

The pump can come on by itself at warm up. After fully heated, there can be a leak somewhere in the machine causing the machine to refill. Purified water can cause the same issue.

One can not assume the magnetic float will float correctly when water is inserted. Rocking back and forth when empty only shows that limescale did not trap the float in the tube. The machine may need to be sent in for service. Please email us for a repair authorization number.

Please plug the unit in a GFI outlet and check to see if it trips the GFI outlet circuit.

Please check the water tank float tube in on the left hand side when inserted in the machine. Also, check the magnetic float inside the reservoir moves within the tube. And, check to see if it floats inside the tube when filled with water. You may need to put the reservoir up to the room light to see the float in the tube.

Thank you for your inquiry. The better machine to mimic the Solis SL90 is the Lelit Anna or the Lelit Vittoria.

First, the Mara is a superior steam performance machine with a 20 minute warm up time. For one cup per day with no entertaining, this is not your best choice. If there is entertaining or you are making 12 ounce and larger cappuccino or lattes, then this may be the better choice. There are only a few units of this models left under the sale.

The Lelit Anna has the quickest warm up time of 10-15 minutes due to the brass boiler and there is a short wait time to steam mode like the Solis SL-90. Steaming performance is similar. Major difference is the on/off switch to make espresso when compared to the Tronic or SL90 which was a full automatic dosage feature for the espresso extraction.

The Lelit Vittoria is a step up over the Lelit Anna with better build quality, higher steaming capability, better espresso in the cup, and a forced fill function of the boiler after steaming milk. It also has an auto-shutoff if the machine is left on too long.

The Ascaso DUO Tronic was a poor steam performer because 110 volts had to be shared between the coffee boiler and steam thermoblock. This was not enough power, and this is a reason why we did not yet carry the newest DUO from Ascaso. We have one coming in for testing and evaluation.

this will vary because it will depend upon the evaporation of the boiler through the vacuum breaker bleeder valve on top of the boiler.

The temperature is preset by the manufacturer and is not adjustable. The pump pressure is adjustable through the OPV. Please be careful when adjusting as it will not be covererd under warranty if you break it.

Also, it is important to get a surge suppressor (single outlet rated 1080 joules or higher) to protect the machine from electrical noise and surges.

Lastly, unplug the machine in a cold state and remove all the screws on the top panel. Lift off the cover and check for any loose or burnt wires. There is also a safety thermostat on the top of the boiler than can have the middle button pushed in. If it clicks, this means your machine overheated which leads to another cause! Limescale! The water needs to be treated.

On all e61 grouphead heat exchanger machines, they do run a little hot after sitting for 5 minutes.

Run a cooling flush until you see the steam stop exiting the grouphead and you have only hot water flow.

The steaming functionality has nothing to do with the grouphead on the PL62 series espresso machines. The reason is that the PL62 is a heat exchanger machines. It sounds like your current machine is a dual purpsoe single boiler espresso machine.

Yes, this is normal because the hot water comes from the steam boiler. On the Diana, the hot water came only from the coffee boiler.

Sorry, it is only adjustable on the other Mara models. This machine has a fixed boiler pressure/temperature.

Sorry, Lelit currently does not offer a larger knock box/drawers as you prefer. You may ant to look at the other ones we offer from other manufacturers.

Warm up time ranges from 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending upon actual voltage in the outlet. The Mara is a great little machine if you need steaming or frothing of milk as you do not have to depress another switch to get into steam mode. Basically, you have on demand steam.

If you are only making straight espresso all the time, then there may be other machines better suitable.

Please do not use any reverse osmosis, distilled, or purified water in any espresso machine, including a heat exchanger machine, like the Lelit Mara,

There are a few reasons:

a) This water will oxidize with the metals and create issues similat to that of limescale, and

b) the espresso extraction requires minerals to extract the oils for the espresso flavor and crema production, and

c) the machine may not operate correctly as the machine monitors the water level in the boiler by sending 5 volts of electricity from the refill sensor through the water to the boiler wall. If the water can not pass through the water, it will overfill the boiler and leak inside the machine as well as the countertop until the reservoir is dry.

One can try a mixture of water (part pure and part tap), but also still use the in tank water softener (optional on some models) to increase protection of limescale.

This really depends upon externally factors, such as usage, sitting time, heating cycle, ambient temperature, and actual voltage in outlet.

In some cases, there may be some overheating that requires a cooling flush (machine idle for too long or in hot weather). In other cases, a flush may not be needed. In some cases, it may need a heating flush (using machine outdoors in cold weather).

As for softening water, please utilize the V725 and recharge every 24 liters or minimum 2x per month.

Descaling should only be performed if asked by regarding an issue with the machine.

It's true that a water softener will be the most effective method of preventing limescale from building up in your machine. The water softener, wet or dry, is good for one year. It shouldn't dry out after one night of being out of water, it can be left in the tank if you plan to change the water daily. It would probably take up to two weeks for the water softener to dry out; and even if it does, it can be recharged and used again. 

That being said, while changing the water daily in your machine is proactive, it isn't absolutely necessary. Water can be left in the reservoir for 3-4 days before needing to be changed. The tank should be washed with non-abrasive dish detergent every two weeks or so. Hope this helps.

Yes, it is. However, in some cases if not careful enough, it can get damaged.

First, we prefer that customers utilize preventive measures to prevent limescale by using a water softener. One reason is descaling can eat at the metals, the metal's finish, any in-tank filter/softener, and the gaskets inside the machine. This is why limescale prevention is better.

Second, in some cases, the machine will need a descaling. It is best to not pour in the descaler into the reservoir. Mix it with water outside of the reservoir.

Most importantly, if there is a water softener attached to the intake hose, please remove it before adding the descaling solution to the reservoir.

First, the heat exchange system has to have water. If idle, a vacuum can be created in the system. A preflush needs to fill it up. Also, if the grind is too fine, this can stop the preinfusion.

The previously mentioned 4 bar pressure is the system pressure built up inside the HX with steam in the HX. If water escaped through the OPV or evaporated, the active pre-infusion with the lever may not work.

First step, remove water softener (if unit has one in tank) and run a good descaler through the grouphead as there is a small possibility that the gicleur got clogged with contaminants or dried water from manufacturer's testing.

Second step, if descaling does not work, unplug the machine from the outlet and the body panel panel will need to be removed (T15 screws on top) and 2 on each side, and 5 Philips screws on bottom holding body panel. The nut on the switch needs to be loosened counterclockwise with with a 14mm open end crescent wrench lightly touch to start to avoid scratching. Loosen nut out by hand, but do not remove nut, then push switch inwards. With a finger or flathead screwdriver, turn the internal nut clockwise 2-3 rotations. Pull switch outwards, then hand tighten outside nut and tighten 1/8th turn with 144mm wrench.

Being very careful and not sticking anything inside machine, test. Adjust as necessary. Once done, unplug machine and assemble body panel. We have a private video we can share going over the second step.

There is a certain sweet spot where the lever is near the 45 degree angle where by it does not touch the pump switch. In rare cases, sometimes the switch has to be brought into the frame by one or two threads.

We do not recommend removing the dispersion screen as there is a change that it will be damaged. We recommend backflushing for cleaning.
