This pump can also be found and replaces pumps for most mobile smoke fog machines used in the entertainment industry.

    4. Hi, I have a Lelit Pl41TQE/110 espresso machine from you guys. It has suddenly started having very little water come out of the brew head and steam wand. There appears to be quite a bit of air in the line from the pump to the boiler, but the usual airlock fixes haven't had any success. Neither did a descaling. The three way valve appears to function fine, switching to the appropriate outlet (brew, water/steam). When I backflush, I don't hear the pump start to strain, as I used to. Would this most likely be a pump problem or do you have other suggestions? Thanks! Susanne

Sorry, this will be difficult to ascertain without evaluating the machine in person. It can be a pump, OPV, solenoid valve, or grouphead issue.

A Thanks! It turned out to be the pump, fortunately.
    6. I recently ordered an ulka pump EAX5. I installed it and my machine worked great for 2 weeks then one day it completely lost all pressure again (pre pump replacement). Thoughts or recommendation? Could it have been a faulty pump? When First installed It was back to perfect pressure but just stopped working about 2 weeks later. No decrease in pressure over time just a complete loss.

A Within a course of 7 years I replaced the pump twice (third pump). I make about 6-8 shots a day (plus cleaning vigorously), so it's not 'overworked, but used constantly. So, I believe that if the pump worked properly for 2 weeks and lost its abilitative - it is a faulty pump. Personally, I didn't have problem with the replacements at all. Perfect pressure, no leaks. Sorry, i can't give you other advice, than 'ask for the replacement - it should be under warranty.

First, there was no indication that this was used for an espresso machine as we do have pump customers who buy these pumps for fish tanks, fog machines and other appliances. We are unsure what you mean by pre-pump. There is no indication of not pumping or the pump does not make any noise when activated.

Our industry works on a premise of causes and effects. If the pump was faulty, it would have been faulty out of the box. There was a cause for your old pump to fail and the new pump to fail after the new pump was working for 2 weeks.

Our technicians always try to find causes that create the bad effect(s). We are not sure what you mean by pre-pump. However, causes can be particles in the water line that damaged the internals, a pump running too much that burns out the motor, a surge in the electricity supplied, or a blockage after the pump that does not allow the pump to pump.

In addition, if an espresso machine, it may be the OPV being sporadically faulty. Also, if the machine has a brew pressure gauge, it can be the gauge or the coffee grind resistance.

If the pump does not make noise and activate, it could be the electricity to the pump. This brings up another point. The actual voltage to the pump can also impact the pump. As you can see, there are many causes.

A This was installed on a Lelit PL41TEM. I am going to try it on another power source to test for noise. Sounds like valve, gauge, or power?

A The pump is only one stage of the water delivery. The pump, together with one or more other valves bodies contain one way flow control. If any of the one way flow valves fail you can lose pressure. You'll need to find out which valves are responsible in your machine and replace them, since they're usually inexpensive to get.

It can fit, but it is best to check inside your machine and look at the actual model. We are unable to answer precisely as many manufacturers will make changes without any notification to its dealers.

A Thanks for your response. The part number of the pump inside my machine is listed in my original question (ULKA Model E Type EX5 pump). You do not list that exact part number on your web site. The closest one you have is this one (EAX5). Can I purchase it as a replacement for my pump?

    16. I have one of these ULKA EX5 pumps that failed in my Fiorenzato Bricoletta. I have removed the pump from my machine, but in doing so broke a plastic connector that is attached to the hose that goes to the solenoid valve. It seems that the connector does not come apart from the hose, so I am assuming I'll need to replace the full hose+2 connector assembly. Picture here: https://i.imgur.com/2pTzdCU.jpg Any idea where I can find a replacement part for this piece on this website?
