Rocket R Nine One Espresso Machine – Commercial Pressure Profiling Performance for the Espresso Enthusiast
The Rocket R Nine One Espresso Machine represents the pinnacle of modern pressure profiling technology, bringing commercial-grade performance and unmatched extraction control into a refined single-group platform. Designed for advanced baristas, coffee training labs, and boutique cafés, the R Nine One combines Rocket Espresso’s renowned craftsmanship with innovative pressure profiling capabilities to deliver exceptional espresso with repeatable precision.
Featuring a fully saturated group head, insulated stainless steel dual boilers, and an advanced electronic paddle system, the Rocket R Nine One provides unparalleled thermal stability and the ability to create customized extraction profiles that unlock the full flavor potential of every coffee.
Advanced Pressure Profiling with Manual and Programmable Control
At the heart of the Rocket R Nine One is its signature electronic brew paddle, allowing users to manually manipulate pressure throughout extraction. Unlike conventional machines, the R Nine One can record your paddle movements and save them as repeatable brewing recipes. Users can also select from five programmable pressure profiles, making it easy to achieve consistent results while experimenting with different roast levels and brewing styles.
Whether you’re dialing in light-roast specialty coffees or creating long pre-infusion recipes, the Rocket R Nine One offers the flexibility demanded by serious espresso enthusiasts.
Fully Saturated Group Head for Ultimate Thermal Stability
Departing from traditional E61 group designs, the Rocket R Nine One utilizes a fully saturated group head directly welded to the brew boiler. This commercial-inspired design minimizes temperature fluctuations and delivers exceptional consistency during back-to-back extractions.
Combined with powerful PID temperature management and insulated stainless steel boilers, the machine maintains stable brewing conditions even under demanding workloads.
Commercial Dual Boiler Performance
The Rocket R Nine One features heavy-duty stainless steel boilers engineered for simultaneous brewing and steaming without sacrificing performance.
- 1.9-liter coffee boiler (1200W)
- 3.6-liter steam boiler (1400W)
- Independent boiler operation for optimal temperature control
- Outstanding steam power for milk-based drinks
- Excellent recovery time for consecutive shots
Its commercial-grade architecture makes the R Nine One ideal for entertaining, coffee education, and low-volume café applications.
Precision Pump Technology
The specialized 24V permanent magnet volumetric pump operates quietly while providing ultra-precise variable flow rates. This advanced pump system works seamlessly with the electronic paddle to produce highly repeatable pressure curves and extraordinary extraction control.
Intuitive Color Touchscreen Interface
A vibrant full-color touchscreen provides complete access to machine settings and brewing data, including:
- Real-time pressure graphing
- Digital PID temperature control
- Five programmable pressure profiles
- Shot timer and extraction monitoring
- Seven-day automatic on/off scheduling
- User-friendly system configuration
The graphical interface allows baristas to fine-tune their workflow and replicate successful recipes with confidence.
Flexible Water Supply Options
The Rocket R Nine One offers installation versatility with two water supply configurations:
- 2.5-liter removable water reservoir
- Direct plumb-in connection for continuous operation
Premium Build Quality
Constructed with a heavy-duty stainless steel chassis and weighing approximately 104.5 pounds, the Rocket R Nine One embodies Rocket Espresso’s commitment to durability and craftsmanship. Its robust construction minimizes vibration while ensuring years of dependable performance.

Notes
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

We apologize for the delay as it has been a very busy week with holiday orders. The Bicocca does, in fact, have a 20 amp plug (our TouTube video explains this) and will require a 20 amp outlet and and 20 amp circuit breaker. Yes, the plug on the Rocket R91 utilizes a straight 15 amp plug.
