Rocket Boxer 2 Group HP 220V Commercial Espresso Machine
Overview
The Rocket Boxer 2 Grouphead Commercial Espresso Machine is a compact premium machine that makes great espresso for small coffee shops and coffee trucks. Our current model is the High-Performance version. Check our notes for the Super High Performance and Standard Performance explanations.
Features
Heat exchange system
- Copper/brass, insulated: Copper is one of the best metals for conducting heat. It is also susceptible to limescale. Rocket added a T.E.A.+ coating which helps reduce the possibility of limescale sticking to the walls of the boiler.
- Pull a shot & steam milk at the same time: Steam is always readily available. Therefore there is no wait time going from coffee to steam mode.
- Auto refill: A sensor in the boiler detects when the water in the boiler is low. This prevents burning out the heating element.
Electronic controls
- Programmable coffee dosing: You can program the shot times for each dosing option. Enter the programming mode by holding the green "P" button.
- Manual coffee dosing: A semi-automatic option (pressing the green "P" button) starts and stops the coffee extraction when you decide.
- Hot water button: The far right button of each set is for hot water.
Steam & hot water wands
- Steam wand: There are 2 separate steam wands on each side of the machine. Rotary knobs activate each wand which gives better control of the intensity as opposed to joystick knobs. Each has a 4-hole steam tip for fast frothing.
- Hot water wand: Located on the right side.
Parts & accessories included
- Portafilters: (1) Single spout portafilter & (2) dual spout portafilters. All measure 58 mm with the Rocket logo stamped on the filter head.
- Filter baskets: (1) 1-cup, (2) 2-cup, & blind basket for backflushing.
- Cleaning brush: Specifically for grouphead.

- Hoses: Stainless steel braided hose for the incoming water line. Plastic drain hose for the drip tray.

Notes
General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:
- Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
- Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer’s defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
- Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
- Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
- Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?
