La Pavoni 8-Cup Stradivari Espresso Machine

In celebration of La Pavoni’s 100 years of producing one of the finest espresso/cappuccino makers, 1st-line is excited to introduce the newest addition to the La Pavoni line – La Pavoni Stradivari 8-Cup! The Stradivari line represents the third collaborative effort between la Pavoni and industrial designer Carlo Gallizi. The inspiration for this design was attributable to the works of a world renowned violin maker – Antonio Stradivari.

  • WATER WARNING: To increase the useful life of and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and without magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled water, purified water, nor reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale.
  • DESCALING WARNING: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. The reason is that too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine.

    2. Hi, I have been borrowing one of these machines from a friend (prior to buying a Lelit Diana from First Line, which I did two weeks ago) for the last three months and using it once or twice per weekend. Does this machine need to be descaled? How often does it need to be serviced? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Thank you for considering and purchasing from 1st-line. Based on your usage, the machine probably does not need to be descaled. If one sees scale on the inside of the boiler or it overheats a lot, then it probably needs a descaling. Old Pavoni lever machines when descaled can cause new leaks since the scale build up that is removed was actually the sealant from leaking.

The machine should be serviced when there is any leaks coming from the grouphead or other parts of the machine. This includes water and/or steam leaks.
