An update from the previous Mitica model, now featuring a shot timer on the PID.
Released in early 2025, the Bezzera Sole replaces the Mitica and introduces an upgraded digital PID controller with a built-in shot timer for precise temperature management and consistent extractions. It features a 2 L copper heat exchanger boiler with insulation for stable temperatures and efficient simultaneous brewing and steaming, along with the classic E61 grouphead that supports an optional flow-control kit. Daily use is made easy with high-mounted Italian-styled dual pressure gauges, articulating steam and hot water wands with joystick valves and rubber grips, and flexible water options—including a large 4 L internal reservoir or direct water line connection. Perfect for home baristas, prosumers, and small offices, the Sole delivers professional-quality espresso, milk drinks, tea, and other hot beverages with enhanced consistency and convenience.

The Bezzera Sole is equipped with a generously sized 2.0 L copper heat-exchange boiler, designed to handle brewing and steaming at the same time without compromise. The use of copper promotes rapid and even heat distribution, helping maintain thermal stability and quick rebound during back-to-back extractions. Added boiler insulation minimizes heat loss and improves overall efficiency, delivering dependable shot consistency and strong steam output for preparing multiple beverages consecutively.
The Bezzera Sole utilizes the time-proven E61 brew group, valued for its excellent heat retention and consistent extraction performance. This design helps produce well-balanced, flavorful espresso with repeatable results. For those seeking greater control over the brewing process, the Sole can be upgraded with an optional flow control kit (sold separately), enabling fine-tuning of water flow to shape extraction profiles, flavor clarity, and crema quality.
The Bezzera Sole features a digital PID controller that allows precise adjustment of the boiler temperature, providing improved control over brew consistency and flavor development. An integrated shot timer displays extraction time in real time, making it easier to dial in repeatable results—an upgrade not found on previous Mitica models. By actively regulating boiler temperature, the PID minimizes temperature fluctuations and enhances overall thermal stability for both espresso brewing and steaming performance.
he Bezzera Sole offers flexible water supply options to suit different installation needs. It can be operated using the generously sized 4.0 liter internal water reservoir, ideal for users who prefer a simple, non-plumbed setup with extended runtime between refills. For added convenience and continuous operation, the Sole can also be connected directly to a water line, making it well suited for higher-volume use and eliminating the need to manually refill the tank.
The Bezzera Sole is equipped with a commercial-grade rotary vane pump, delivering smooth, consistent pressure throughout the extraction process. Compared to vibration pumps, a rotary pump operates significantly quieter, making it ideal for home kitchens and low-noise environments. This pump design also allows the Sole to be plumbed directly into a water line, providing continuous fresh water supply, stable pressure, and added convenience for high-volume or everyday use.
The Bezzera Sole is outfitted with an articulating steam wand featuring a heat-resistant grip, making it easy to texture milk into smooth, velvety microfoam. A dedicated hot water wand is included for preparing tea, Americanos, and other hot drinks. Intuitive joystick-style controls provide smooth, responsive operation for both wands, while the included 2-hole steam tip delivers controlled steam flow for consistent, barista-level milk results.
On the Bezzera Sole, the dual pressure gauges are positioned higher on the front panel for improved visibility compared to earlier Mitica designs. Each gauge is distinctly separated and styled with Italian-inspired detailing, including a white reference band that highlights the ideal operating pressure range. This layout enhances at-a-glance usability while giving the front panel a cleaner, more balanced appearance.
The Bezzera Sole was built with extra clearance of ~2 1/8″ underneath, providing plenty of room to easily run electrical connections and plumbing where needed. The base feet are slightly adjustable, allowing the machine to sit level on uneven countertops for stable, consistent operation. The elevated design balances functionality with a clean, modern aesthetic, giving the Sole a distinctive, engineered look.
