Mandatory Compatibility Requirement
This softener is designed exclusively for machines with a top-entry suction system. It is not compatible with machines that draw water through a valve at the bottom of the tank.

- Works With: Machines where a flexible silicone intake hose drops into the water from the top of the reservoir (e.g., Rocket, Profitec, ECM, and many Lelit models).
- Does Not Work With: Machines that “click” into a base and draw water via a bottom-seated valve (e.g., Breville, Jura, or Gaggia Classic Pro).

Installation Quick-Start
To ensure the USA Mini Water Softener operates at peak efficiency, follow these guidelines:

- Rinse: Thoroughly wash the unit under cold running water to remove potential resin dust.
- Saturate: Submerge the softener in a container with 1 liter of fresh water for 5 minutes to fully activate the ion exchange media.
- Connect: Slide your machine’s top-entry suction tube directly onto the softener’s inlet barb.
- Place: Lower the unit into your water tank, ensuring it remains completely submerged at all times.
Regeneration Steps
To restore the ion-exchange capacity of the resin when it becomes saturated with minerals, follow these steps:

- Prepare Solution: Dissolve 150g of common kitchen salt (NaCl) into 1 liter of lukewarm water.
- Submerge: Place the softener into the salt solution.
- Wait: Allow the unit to soak for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Rinse: Remove the unit and rinse thoroughly under fresh running water.
- Reinstall: Reconnect the suction hose and place it back in the machine reservoir.
Recommended Replacement Schedule
While the resin can be regenerated, its effectiveness decreases over time due to mineral fouling and resin degradation.
- Regeneration Frequency: Every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on water hardness and machine usage.
- Full Replacement: Replace the entire unit every 3 to 6 months depending on local water hardness to help ensure maximum protection against scale.
- Visual Indicator: If the resin beads appear dark, clumped, or if scale begins appearing in the tank despite regeneration, replace the unit immediately.
Please remove this softener when descaling to avoid damage. Always attach to in-take hose before inserting in the reservoir.
