1st-line 3-Cup 58mm Wega E61 Bottomless / Naked Portafilter
1st-line’s very own E61 Bottomless portafilter, also known as a naked portafilter.
In addition, our bottomless portafilters have true size 3 cup filter baskets unlike any other that can hold up to 21 grams of ground coffee (and has a diameter of 59mm).
Has a max lip thickness of ~6.5mm (~.50 max lip differential)
This portafilter will fit and work with most espresso machine models that have an E61 grouphead. There are other models we found this portafilter to be compatible with. Here is a list of compatible espresso machine models:

Notes:
- Our E61 Bottomless Portafilter is made naked first, then gets chrome plated for a full beautiful finish. We are not responsible if the manufacturer of your espresso machine makes a change to your espresso machine and the portafilter does not fit.
- Although this portafilter may “fit” a grouphead it doesn’t mean it will be “compatible
- Just because this item comes with a 3 cup basket does not mean you must pull 3 shots every time you use it. You may also pull a single or double shot for more crema and a concentrated flavor profile, but you still MUST fill the basket as intended. Alternatively, you may use this handle with a 58mm one or two cup basket.
- Our new stock no longer includes the end cap at the end of the handle.
- In many cases, when using this portafilter, customers have to coarsen the fineness of their grind when moving from a single or double dose. The reason is that this E61 bottomless portafilter has a bigger basket. It usually holds more coffee than your original portafilter. When leaving the same fineness of grind, the end result can either be:
- no pour,
- a very slow pour, or
- leakage around the grouphead area.

Is the core made from brass?

The basket holder portion is made of brass. The handle is made of plastic. The bolt between the two is made of steel.
What size tamper is appropriate for this portafilter? For example It looks like 58mm tampers are not 58mm in diameter. How to choose? What it the largest actual diameter and smallest to consider for the tamper? Can you also make an ideal size suggestion? Thank you.

Hi,Any of our 58mm tampers will work. A standard 58mm tamper usually leaves a small space and usually requires scraping the sides of your portafilter to get the coffee that wasn't tamped down. We have some tampers that are 58.5mm like our Bicolor Wood Handle Tamper which we confirm will fit this portafilter. These reduce the space and try not to miss any coffee when tamping. The better fit, the better the tamp. With so many portafilters, out there can be a case that a 58.5 will not fit, which is why we still carry standard 58mm.

Although we do not guarantee a fit as the grouphead may be too old and worn, this item should fit.
It seems from the answered questions that this will fit a Lelit Mara PL62S. My question is, do you know if the threads on its handle are the same size as the Mara PL62S original portafilter? I know you have a version of this with a walnut handle, but I already have a nice walnut handle and would prefer to keep using that and save money by getting this one instead. It looks like that is an M12 thread.

From our testing, this did work.
Can I use the stock baskets that come with a Mara X with this filter? They fit around the lip but are more narrow at the bottom. I'm not sure if this is recommended/would work.

The Lelit 2-cup basket is slightly smaller than the one that comes with the bottomless portafilter. As long as it makes a tight seal with the grouphead, then it's ok to swap.

I'm trying to remove the handle from this portafilter, but it just won't budge! I have 2 others like it that are much more compliant. Any tricks? I've tried hot, cold, and penetrating lube, to no avail. I also don't have a 14mm long handle key to get into it... they seem to be a specialty item. It feels like if I put too much more torque on it, something's gonna give; like the plastic on the handle or the metal in the portafilter (unlikely).

Sorry, many manufacturers utilize thread sealant. Only trick is to use pliers or channelocks and damage the old handle upon removal.

The baskets are different. Sorry, we do not take measurements as this can change from batch to batch by our supplier. Hence, we would be criticized and complained to for false advertising.

It has worked for other customers, but the grind needs to be coarser when compared to the stock portafilter.

Yes, this one fits. However, with the new gasket on the machine, it will only lock to about the 7-630 position.

The Lelit XMC021 58mm bottomless portafilter is made for the Diana. You can learn more in our video of even small differences. Hence, the portafilters may look the same, but there are small differences that can affect proper operation or proper fitment. The baskets are also different.

Yes, it can be removed with vice grips as it is on very tight. Hence, it will be damaged upon removal. Sorry, we are unable to remove the handle without damage to advise on the thread size.

The E61 should fit, but do not forget to make the grind coarser due to the larger basket.
Will this work with the Lelit Diana? The PL62 Mara and PL60 Diana use the same portafilter according to your parts catalogue even though the PL62 is an E61 and the Diana is not. You indicate it works with the PL62 but did not mention the PL60 in the description. would like to order asap if it does!

Yes, 58mm ID baskets can be switched into this portafilter handle. Please note some alternate baskets may not stay inserted due to spring placement and basket ring.

Yes, this item will fit the Vibiemme machines with the E61 (at the time of this writing). However, since it has a larger 3 cup basket, which holds more coffee, the grind fineness does need to be made coarser.
