3/8 Boiler Safety Valve 1.5 bar maximum when safety valve will open. If you espresso machine is overheating, this valve will open. Check for other issues that are causing the boiler to overheat. If you have limescale, this valve should be replaced as limescale will not allow this safety valve to open to avoid a boiler from exploding.

If the boiler pressure gauge is showing less than 1.5 bar and this valve is leaking, then the seal is bad inside or there is limescale holding this valve open.
