Rancilio Rocky Doser V3 Espresso Coffee Grinder
Best precision flat burr grinder for home use and for those who demand the best. The Rancilio Rocky Doser has been a long time “gold” standard for espresso coffee grinders. This pairs nicely well with the Rancilio Silvia espresso machine! These grinders encompass the heavy motor that is found on the Rancilio MD40. The next step up from a Rancilio Rocky is therefore a commercial grade coffee grinder.

Grinding Adjustment
Stepped adjustments give you a wide range of grinding from fine to coarse. Easier to go back and forth between different grind settings.
Quiet operation
Generally not higher than 70dB(A). Rubber vibration-dampening feet help keep the grinder steady and reduce noise.
Tinted bean hopper & doser
The blue tint helps to avoid pre-mature deterioration of beans from light sources (such as sunlight).
Doser
All coffee grinds into this chamber and is then dosed out as you need. There is an opening that allows you to pour in any extra unused coffee grinds. This helps reduce coffee waste.
Portafilter Fork
For easy espresso machine filter handle placement & dosing. Sits very low to the base. Some portafilter designs can even rest on your counter for “hands-free” operation.

- Differences between V3 vs V2:
- The Rocky V3 Grinder now has a removable plastic grind catch tray.
- The Rocky V2 Grinder has the same stainless steel base as always. This is not removable.
- The Rocky V3 has replaced the Rocky V2.
- Each Rancilio Rocky grinder is repackaged by 1st-line Equipment before shipping out to you.Unfortunately, the original internal cardboard packaging by Rancilio can not withstand the rigors of UPS/FedEx, and there were many damaged shipments due to the original packaging not being adequate enough.
- The doserless chute cannot be purchased separately to add to this model.
- This grinder was designed in Italy to use smaller and less oily beans. You can use large and/or oily beans with machine by removing the finger guard. However you might have issues with large and/or oily beans not feeding into the grinders properly or the machine making a mess.
- There is no kit available to convert the doser model to a doserless model or vice versa.

- With the doser, there is no way to fill each individual chamber evenly. Best recommendation is to grind only what you need and dose everything out.
- How to find the relative zero or “true” point on the Rancilio Rocky (doser or doserless).
- Make sure there are no beans in the hopper.
- While the grinder is powered on and running, briefly rotate the bean hopper to to the lowest numbered setting where metal-to-metal is heard.
- Immediately back off to a higher setting. The point of metal-to-metal screeching becomes your relative zero point. Note that this point may be higher or lower than the numerical zero point on Rancilio Rocky grinders.
- Upgrading the V3 plastic base and removable tray on a V2: You will need to order these 2 parts: 38-123-677 and 38-123-678. there are 3 screws on the bottom to remove for replacement.

I have a Rancilio Rocky that is having trouble.
There is a loud rubbing sound, or perhaps grinding sound, from the motor area.
I have removed the upper burr component, and turned it on. The sound is still happening.
Is the motor replaceable?
Is something smaller, for example, bearings, replaceable?

To avoid the risk of damage to the threads, we recommend a cleaner such as Urnex Grindz sold on our web site. We will have another product soon as well as a spray to clean the hopper from oil build up.
