La Pavoni PUB 1V Commercial Espresso Machine (ETL, NSF, CUL)

The PUB-1V is a powerful single group espresso machine packaged in a compact space-saving design measuring only 15 inches wide. 1st-line has been selling the PUB machines by La Pavoni for over 15 years!

This particular model features 4 programmable/automatic dosing settings (buttons) with manual override – these programmed dosage buttons control the amount of water that is pressurized through the coffee grind in the portafilter handle. The programming is regulated by a digital control pad and an internal microprocessor.

There is a hot water wand (left side) and a single multi-directional steam wand (right side). The built-in pressure gauge indicates pump pressure as well as boiler steam pressure. The machine is powered by an electric Procon pump which is connected directly to the water line.

The large 6.5-liter boiler (largest in the industry) requires only 1500 watts and 120 volts making this machine one of the most efficient to operate in most establishments and homes.

Features:

  • Volumetric electronic programmable dosing espresso machine with digital control pad and microprocessor.
  • Four cups size selections including continuous brewing and a stop/override button
  • Groups made with press-forged brass and chrome plated, with vertical infusion chamber and pressurization system.
  • Boiler in copper equipped with transversal heat exchangers and front injectors.
  • Spring taps for hot water and steam; one 360° multi-directional swiveling steam nozzle and one fixed hot water nozzle with an anti-splash device.
  • Pre-infusion: Immediately prior to the brewing process, a blast of hot water at 1 bar of pressure is sprayed atop the coffee grinds to cover the coffee surface. This guarantees that the brewing process will distribute evenly throughout the handle and flow into the cup(s) uniformly.
  • Thermal stability: In order to maintain a constant temperature in the coffee groups, hot water from the boiler is circulated throughout the group heads on a continuous basis. Empty coffee handles should be left on the groups when not in use so they adapt to the same temperature.
  • Mounted gauge to monitor boiler pressure.
  • Automatic electronic water level control in the boiler makes sure the water level inside the boiler is covering the heating element and preventing damage.
  • Pro-grade anti-vacuum valve on top of the boiler eliminates the need to open the steam wand when warming up.
  • Stainless steel drip tray and grate.
  • Solid steel frame.
  • Internal electric motor rotates the rotary vane Procon pump.
  • Installation kit included (fittings and hoses) for most installs.
  • (optional) Cappuccino Automatic Baan r with interchangeable steam nozzle.

Specifications:

  • Temperature: 268 degrees Fahrenheit (131 degrees Celsius) max.
  • Water Softener: 3.2 gallons (12 liters)

  1. PUB requires direct water plumbing.
  2. Water line pressure should be regulated to be between 35 and 40 pounds for proper operation of this machine. Check with your local plumbing supply to advise on purchase so as to meet any local building codes. In addition, check with them about your local building code may require a backflow preventer (which does not allow boiler water to backflow into water supply).

Espresso Machine Warning:

  • ELECTRICAL WARNING: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer's defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. the lack of the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat or the wiring inside.
  • WATER WARNING: To increase the useful life of and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and without magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled water, purified water, nor reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale.
  • DESCALING WARNING: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. The reason is that too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine.
