If your espresso maker does not have a 3-way group head solenoid valve, do not attempt to backflush it. Instead, remove the shower screen and clean it manually with an appropriate espresso machine cleaning detergent.

Over time, dispersion screens accumulate coffee oils and mineral buildup that disrupt water flow and lead to uneven extraction. Replacing your screen on a regular schedule helps maintain consistent pressure, even saturation, and better-tasting espresso shot after shot.

- Every 6 months — for high-volume use or oily/dark roast beans
- Every 12 months — for standard home or light commercial use
Pair It With a New Gasket
Most customers order this dispersion screen alongside an F15 E61 grouphead gasket (8mm, soft). The screen is often damaged when removed together with the old gasket still seated inside the grouphead, so replacing both at once is a smart, time-saving choice.
