Eureka Atom Blow Up System

The Eureka Atom Blow Up System is an innovative tool from Eureka that helps deal with one of the main issues that plague all espresso coffee grinders: grind retention.

What is grind retention?

Essentially it is any grinds left inside after using your grinder. These grinds will sit, become stale, and will eventually mix with your next grind. This will overall affect your espresso shot.

All manufacturers keep grind retention in mind when designing their espresso grinders. This includes installing mechanical sweepers to help grinds push through or trying reducing the overall distance grinds have to travel. Eureka developed this Blow Up System without needing to redesign their current models.

Retention reducing / cleaning

The Eureka Atom Blow Up System consists of a low profile hopper complete with a lid, finger guard and stopper. In addition, there is a rubber fitting between the hopper and the lid.  This transforms the hopper into a “plunger”. By pressing down on the lid, you create an air flow from the hopper all the way through to the coffee chute. There is no need to remove the beans out of the hopper. You can also perform this while the grinder is in operation.
