ECM P7000 Complete Expansion Valve
This expansion valve (P7000) is for the ECM Casa V, Classika II, Elektronika II, Mechanika IV Profi, Mechanika V Slim, & Technika V Profi espresso machine models.
ECM Germany Complete Expansion Valve – this is the over pressure valve for the brew pressure to allow excess water pressure to exit to the drip tray. This version can be found on the ECM Controvento, Technika, & Barista espresso machine models.
Turning the screw inwards increases the bar pressure that is required to allow water pressure to exit. Turning the screw outwards decreases the bar pressure for the water to exit.
When this valve leaks in direct water connect mode, it means that there is limescale in the valve, the spring has degraded (typically on an older machine), or the water line pressure is too high.
The screw can be removed after the little allen key screw on the side is brought outwards. Please make sure to turn off the water supply and the machine is cold before working on any espresso machine.
