The Elektra Indie Smart 2GR is a two-group commercial espresso machine designed for specialty coffee shops and professional baristas who want independent control over each brewing group. Made in Italy, the Indie combines a 12-liter steam boiler with independently controlled brewing groups and a color touchscreen interface for managing brewing parameters.

Each group can be controlled independently through its touchscreen display, allowing the barista to adjust brewing temperature, coffee dose, and infusion time in real time. The Indie uses a patented brewing group system that preheats the incoming water directly at the group, providing precise control over brewing temperature with low thermal inertia. This allows different brewing temperatures and settings to be used on each group when preparing different coffees.

The Indie Smart also features a patented steam system with adjustable steam pressure from approximately 0.8 to 1.8 bar. Steam output can be adjusted according to the requirements of different milk drinks, while the 12-liter steam boiler provides the capacity needed for commercial service. An optional automatic milk frothing system can be configured to control milk temperature and foam volume.

Hot water volume can be programmed through the machine’s controls, and the machine incorporates insulated group and boiler components to improve thermal efficiency. The Indie also includes an integrated cup-warming system, work-area lighting, and programmable rear LED lighting.

The Elektra Indie Smart 2GR has a steel and aluminum construction with distinctive solid oak handles. The two-group version measures approximately 865 mm wide, 465 mm high, and 561 mm deep, with a net weight of approximately 71 kg. It operates on 230–400V power configurations and uses approximately 3,500 watts in the 2-group configuration.
