If you hear a beeping sound coming from your VBM espresso machine, please check the water tank. It may be out of water. Also make sure it is sitting properly on the pressure plate.
This is a normal feature on these models. It alerts you when the water in the tank is low. This helps protect your espresso machine from the boiler running out of water, which in turn damages the heating element.
If the water reservoir is full and sitting properly, the switch under the water tank platform may be faulty or have water on the contacts.
There is a small possibility it is the wiring on the switch or a bad brain unit.
