My Bezzera BZ16 DE HX is not producing any steam. It makes espresso fine, however there is no hot water or steam coming out of the steamer/steam wand. When I attempt to froth milk, no water (hot or cold) is coming out. It’s like it doesn’t have any pressure. The espresso part heats up and runs the water through for espresso shots. It is getting hot, but the froth/steamer has no water coming out of them. The machine still makes espresso coffee.

The grouphead is heating to make the espresso warm. The boiler provides the heat for steam and hot water. When it fails or does not have power, there is no steam or hot water. The first reason for failure is the water is too pure.
Inside there is a safety thermostat which looks similar to https://www.1st-line.com/?s=bezzera+safety&post_type=product&dgwt_wcas=1. With the machine cold and unplugged from the electrical outlet, the red button needs to be depressed. If a click is felt, then it was triggered and the machine can be tested. However, the reason why it was triggered will need to be evaluated by a professional as it will most likely cut off the power to the heating element again.
If there is no click, a professional will need to check the ohm reading on the heating element to determine if it is damaged/defective as well as determine the power coming in through the wires.
What piece do I need? How do I tell?
The machine needs to be diagnosed by a professional (sent to 1st-line or you can contact local espresso machine repair companies)to determine the fault if you are unsure how to diagnose.
