Hand Pump – Saeco is used for manually priming the electric pump on the following Saeco models: Vienna line, Magic line, and Royal line.
This hand pump is filled with water and inserted in place of the tank. if the tank has a magnetic float on the side, someone will need to position the tank so the magnetic sensor ‘feels’ the magnetic float and to make the machine ‘think’ there is water in the reservoir.
With the machine cold, power it on into coffee mode. If a rapid steam model or if the machine has 2 thermoblock boilers, turn the steam boiler to hot water mode immediately. Engage the hot water to come through the steam wand (either turning the steam knob or engaging a button depending upon the model). As the pump powers on and makes a noise, squeeze the hand pump to try to force water through. once it takes, power down and place in a full tank of water into position and repeat until the water flow smooths out.
If the machine gets a ventilate message after this procedure, you most likely (not guaranteed) need a new electric pump or a new flowmeter. We cannot diagnose this without seeing the machine.
