Electronic controls:

• 3.5‘’ HIM touch screen display with multiple features:
  • Coffee “recipes”: Adjust the preset dispense times of the single/double coffee dosing buttons, not by time, but by the amount of water that passes through (by mL). The semi-auto coffee dosing button allows you can adjust the preinfusion time.
  • Flush: The Bicocca’s backflushing option. Use the blind filter basket along with any included portafilter. Adjust by the number of seconds.
  • Counter menu: Displays the total number of shots made for each coffee dosing button. Also, there is a Change Filter date if you have a water filter system attached (like BWT for a direct water line connection, or BILT when using a water tank).
  • Wash: Screen lock for cleaning the touchscreen and a step-by-step process for backflushing the grouphead.
  • Software version: Shows the current software version installed.
  • Recipes: Pre-set the amount of water dispensed (by mL) and preinfusion time (by sec) for each coffee dosing button.
  • Steam boiler pressure: Set the bar pressure from 0.6 to 1.4 bar. You can also turn off the steam boiler to save electricity if only making espressos
  • Water supply settings: Switch between tank mode and direct water connect mode.
  • Coffee boiler temperature: Adjust the coffee boiler temperature depending on your preference.
  • Weekly routine: Set the auto power on/off of your machine for each day of the week.
  • Date & time: Set the current date and time.
  • Screen settings: Set the screen brightness, a screen saver option, and eco mode timeout.
  • Unit of measurement: Choice between °C or °F, and bar or psi.

Dual boiler system:

• Insulation with stainless steel boiler: The boilers are made of stainless steel, which is less susceptible to limescale. Typically, stainless steel boilers do not retain their heat as well as copper or brass boilers. The Bicocca compensates for that by being wrapped with insulation. This helps with temperature stability for the espresso extraction and also helps save energy.

Switchable water system:

• Tank mode / direct connect: You have the option to use the Bicocca with the standard water tank or hook up to a direct water line connection.

Rotary vane pump:

• Quiet operation: Rotary pumps are necessary for direct-connect capable machines like the Bicocca since vibration pumps cannot handle the incoming water pressure. The main benefit that you will experience is that they are a lot quieter.

Steam / Hot water wand:

• Rotary knobs: Allow for easier control of the intensity. The steam knob is stylized with the iconic Rocket “R”. Long stems for more flexibility.

• Portafilters: Single spout & double spout. Both 58mm.
• Filter baskets: 1-cup, 2-cup, & blind (for backflushing). All 58mm.
