I have a Gicar 9.0.96.50G that seems to be broken: there is no water coming through the brew head (E61) when operating the control buttons. However, all other functions, work (tea water, steamers). I wonder if the 9.0.96.02G is compatible with the 9.0.96.50G? What does 02G mean compared to 50G?

Sorry, these slight differences in code mean there is some difference - sometimes just as subtle that one is for a signal for a rotary pump and one for a vibration pump ( as we leaned years ago when a machine in for repair did not work). You will need to forward your inquiry to Gicar in Italy for confirmation as we are not provided this information.
