This 1/4″ vacuum breaker valve for heat exchanger and steam boilers inside many European espresso machines. Also known as bleeder valves and empty valves. The purpose of this valve is to release the vacuum that occurs in the espresso machine’s boiler when it has cooled. Without this valve, the boiler creates a vacuum pressure and when the machine is powered up, the machine will only heat to a little steam. Then, when opening the steam valve, only a puff of steam comes out, then th emachine continues to full heating.
