The Chemex FS-100 filters fold into a cone shape.  This assures uniform extraction since water filters through all the grounds on its way to the apex of the cone. Also, super convenient!

The formulation of the filter permits the proper infusion time by regulating the filtration rate. Not too slow, not too fast.

Chemex FS-100 filters are 20-30% heavier than competitive brands. The result? Even the finest sediment particles as well as undesirable oils and fats stay in the filter (and out of your cup!). Good infusion gives coffee a richer flavor while at the same time filtering out the undesirable components which make coffee bitter.
