The Original Pour-Over Coffee Maker, Designed in 1941

The Chemex Classic Series Coffeemaker is a design icon and a better way to brew. Invented in 1941 by Dr. Peter Schlumbohm, Ph.D., this glass pour-over coffee maker is made from non-porous, heat-resistant borosilicate glass, so it brews coffee without imparting odors or excess oils. The result is a clean, smooth, flavorful cup every time.

Why Coffee Lovers Choose the Chemex

  • Pure, clean flavor: Non-porous borosilicate glass keeps unwanted odors and oils out of your cup.
  • Simple, no-fuss brewing: There are no parts to plug in and no settings to program.
  • Chemically correct brewing: This inventive method produces a robust, well-extracted cup of coffee.
  • Timeless design: The polished wood collar and leather tie make it a centerpiece for your kitchen, café, or coffee bar.
  • Generous capacity: Brew up to 50 oz., enough to share.

How to Brew with Your Chemex

  1. Pick your filter and place it in the top of the coffeemaker.
  2. Add your coffee grounds.
  3. Pour boiling water over the grounds.
  4. Brew your desired amount and enjoy.
