Bezzera Flow Control Kit – Wooden Version

This Bezzera E61 Flow Control Device, wooden version, gives you the ability to manually adjust the flow of water in your brew group and customize your espresso extractions. This kit includes a stainless steel needle valve that allows the user to manually adjust the amount of water flowing through the group. Variable flow control allows for longer pre-infusion for more even saturation and extraction of your espresso. Changes in pressure are shown on a gauge which is also included in the kit and installs on the front of the group. This E61 Flow Control Device can be installed on any Bezzera machine with an E61 brew group.

This kit contains both the original version 1 and upgraded version 2 components.  The version 1 needle valve has 360 degrees of motion, while the version 2 needle valve reduces the range of motion to about 270 degrees.

    Hi I bought the kit for my brezerra duo but it seems like the range is very short, so short that I can’t control the flow. I basically turn it a little bit and it’s already at 9 bars. Is there a way to adjust this?

    There are a couple possible reasons, either of which (or a combination of the two) could be responsible for the situation you describe.  The V2 (new style) needle valve has a shorter range of motion (about 270 degrees) than the older V1 needle valve, which rotates about 360 degrees.   Also, if your grind is too fine, you could experience a short range of control, regardless of which version needle valve you are using.  And, a combination of the V2 needle valve and too fine grind would result in a very short range of control.  
    2. The part to which the flow control knob attaches, which screws into the group head, is not shown in the picture. Is this included in the kit, or are only the parts shown in the picture included? This part is shown in listings for this kit on other websites, so I would assume it is included here as well, but I just want to make sure.
