    I have a v4 Ascasco Dream PID. Two issues: the first is a leak at the steam knob while the knob is open. The second is that turning the steam knob has always been difficult, as I turn it outward some turns feel loose, some are very tight. I tried to use the https://www.1st-line.com/buy/ascaso-i-2908/ part to fix things, but the leak continues. At first, though, the turning of the knob was smooth, but now, about a week later it's back to the former rough and hard to turn in parts situation. I now realize that the https://www.1st-line.com/buy/ascaso-i-2908/ was never going to help because I have what at that link you describe as "b) steam valve stem connected to the steam knob" Sorry, I should have read more closely, also mentioned in your video at https://www.1st-line.com/technical-support/ascaso-technical-support/steam-leaking-through-tip/ Anyway, I wonder if the roughness of turning the knob relates to the i-2908 part "coming loose" inside? But that's all a long way of asking two questions: 1. Can I replace the whole PM.212 part and expect to avoid the I.2908 "coming loose" and causing the hard to turn knob issue? ie is this redesigned from the one in my v4 PID? 2. Is there a video or other instructions for installing this part? Is it all just screw connections? Thanks!

    Answered by the admin The problem described occurs when the knob is turned too, too tight. When too tight, the gasket on the end of the I-2908 ruins and locks up the part, OR the threaded portion locks up into the stem. We believe you may have the same problem with the new valve. Sorry, we currently do not have a video as desired.
    A Thanks. So issues seems unavoidable? I guess one should turn the knob while the water is still being pumped out, so one knows when it is tight enough already. No video, but any insight into installing this part (the whole assembly)? Any special tools needed?
    Answered by the admin Every espresso machine has a trade off somewhere. Sorry, there is no insight as it is pretty straightforward. No special tools. If you are having difficulty, the espresso machine can be sent into us for service.

It appears that this number designates an assembly/module of parts - I was curious if there was any way I could purchase the parts in one set.

    Sorry, the assembly is no longer available by Ascaso as per checking their distributor web site. Unfortunately, they do not update diagrams every time one of 60,000+ parts change in design, in status, or availability.

    Sorry, according to Ascaso's parts web site, this code PM.316 does not exist.
