Corrections to descaling your machine

Features particular to the Vibiemme Domobar Super Manual Stainless with Direct Water Connection, Heat Exchanger & Rotary Vane Pump

  • No water reservoir - a direct connection to your water line! We do recommend our water softeners and Cuno filter system witht his machine.
  • No optional drain kit! --- Two way drip tray - adapter installed to allow drip tray to drain to your drain line or remove the adapter, and install the plug to allow manual emptying of the drip tray.
  • No teflon tubing! High pressure water goes through stainless steel braided hoses, just like commercial machines!
  • Full size pressurstat to adjust boiler pressure already included! No need to upgrade like that found on competitive models!
  • Name-brand PROCON pump is attached to a 100 watt motor

Detailed COMMENTARY of why Vibiemme are SUPER BEST IN CLASS

Common features across all Vibiemme Domobar Super Espresso Machines

  • Polished stainless steel body panels
  • Heavy duty True Faema E61 grouphead maintains active flow of water from the grouphead to the heat exchanger in the boiler
  • Small lever on side of grouphead allows user to engage/disengage pump and three-way manual solenoid valve to start/stop espresso extraction.
  • Manual three way valve below grouphead allows removal of portafilter handle from grouphead immediately after espresso extraction has terminated.
  • The heat exchanger allows you to make espresso after espresso until water reservoir is emptied.
  • Professional grade brass portafilters - one portafilter with single spout and single filter basket and one portafilter with dual spout and double filter basket.
  • Boiler capacity: 1.8 liter copper boiler with heat exchanger for on demand steam.
  • Boiler pressure gauge to indicate boiler pressure (reading will vary between .8 and 1.2 bar pressure). The setting can be varied by adjusting the full size pressurstat through the access port under the cup warmer tray on top of machine.
  • Pump pressure gauge to indicate brew pressure during espresso extraction (reading will vary while not extracting).
  • Multi-directional stainless steel steam wand on left side can be moved in different directions.
  • Multi-directional stainless steel hot water tap on right side can be moved in different directions.
  • Power indicator light on right side indicates when the machine is powered on.
  • Heating light on left side indicates when espresso machine is heating.
  • Low water level light in middle indicates when water level in water reservoir in rear is low.
  • Three stage power switch allows user to fill internal boiler without sending power to the heating element (prevents damage upon initial start up).
  • Full size pressurstat (rated as one of the best boiler pressure regulators) monitors boiler pressure.
  • Extremely large stainless steel drip tray which can be easily (slides out with pull of handle) removed for cleaning. Grate stays on machine when pulling out drip tray so that it is one step to empty.
  • GICAR branded electronic water level control for internal boiler is located in lower right rear corner of machine where there is least heat build up.
  • Name-brand PROCON pump is attached to a 100 watt motor
  • Largest OPV (over pressure valve opens when too much pump pressure exists) located in rear of machine with easy access when body panel and six (6) associated screws are removed.
  • Accessories: Single spout portafilter, single dose filter basket, double spout portafilter, double dose filter basket, blind filter basket for backflushing, plastic coffee scoop, and a common useless plastic tamper (please make sure to order a good tamper).
  • Rugged stainless steel braided hose is attached to the Procon pump fittings. The other side has a 3/8" male thread.
  • Effective for purchases made on or after February 23, 2009, the parts and labor warranty is limited to manufacturer's defect effective for one year.
  • For direct water connect machines, the selling dealer is responsible for labor warranty. Installation and on-site service is not included in the price.
  • Dimensions: 10.6" W x 21.0" D x 16.5" H.
  • Product Safety Listing: UL Commercial for home and office use (please note that NSF approvals have not been applied for use in coffee shops, restaurants, and other foodservice establishments. Please check with your local health department if NSF is required for your foodservice establishment).
  • Electrical: 110 volts only, 1600 watts, 20 amp.
  • Net weight: TBD pounds.
  • Options: Single E.S.E. pod capable with optional portafilter, Inoxdep water softener, Cuno filtration system, and optional water connection adapaters (V324 3/8f x 1/4m OR V307 3/8f x 1/8m).
  • Although you can read some older reviews of older Vibiemme models here, we cordially invite you to post a new review for us here!

The Philadelphia Inquirer stated "Even these high performers were blown away, however, by the gleaming chrome gargantua of the Vibiemme ($1,500), a retro- styled semi-commercial machine weighing in at 63 pounds. With a computer board to monitor temperature, a big boiler that transitions with no time delay between coffeemaking and frothing (a major difference in some machines), and the option of going fully automatic or manual, this was the luxury limousine of the test. Its espresso was not just silky in texture, topped with a swirling, multihued crema, it sang ethereal notes of fruitiness and chocolate the other machines didn't produce."

Service Notes:

Rotary Pump Pressure Adjustment: http://www.1st-line.com/techsupport/vibiemme/rotarypumpadjust.html

Backflushing: This machine should be backflushed minimum once every 50 espresso extractions using Ascaso Detergent (our instructions included with purchase). This is only for cleaning the oils fromt he grouphead.

Descaling: This really is for internally cleaning of the machine. Recommended once every 3 months using Ascaso Descaler. However, it can be more or less time depending upon the amount of magnesium and calcium is in your water, how often you use the machine, and how much time you leave the machine powered on each day. Join our email list to get monthly reminders on how to descale the different machines we sell.

The above picture shows the large over pressure valve (a.k.a. OPV) to adjust the over pressure. There is also an adjustment screw on the pump to adjust the actual pump pressure.

View of drip tray - brass nut is for draining drip tray. The nut and screw (with washer) serves to block the drain if so desired.
