This sputtering is occurring because the bleeder valve is leaking too much water at warm-up. This happens because your refill probe can not sense the water due to water corrosion.
Power off your machine. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Allow it to cool.- Remove the top cover and look for the Water Level Probe (SKU 9600105).
- Disconnect the wire and remove the part from the OUTER wider nut from the boiler. Do not remove the inner nut AND never pull out the metal probe from the center as it will damage the seals.
- Take out and send us a picture of the inside metal portion.
- Then clean it with a wire brush, wrap plumber’s tape on the threads, and reinsert. Tighten with low force until the nut stops and the threads do not show.
- Test the machine by placing a large cup that can handle hot water under the hot water wand. Keep open to allow excess water to flow until you hear the pump engage, then close the hot water valve. Allow your machine to fully heat up. You may get sputtering again this time, but the next warm-up, the error should be corrected.
- Next, you will need to correct the water you are using by recharging the water softener every week and replacing it every 6 months.
