  1. Make sure the magnetic float on right side of picture below is floating under the secured black cap. If you had your Mara X for a while and you do not clean your reservoir often, the tube the respective float inside under the cap can stick near the bottom. Remove water from the reservoir, pull off the cap (usually black), and slide off the magnetic float. Fill the reservoir then place in the machine and test. If the low water signal does not flash, then this means the float is sticking within its tube. The float and its respective tube needs to be cleaned with dishwash detergent AFTER removing the water softener.
  2. To the left of the floating mechanism, there is a small plastic slim tab under the reservoir. Please make sure this did not crack off.

  1. Inside the reservoir compartment, there is a white round tab procuding upwards. Confirm it is still there.
  2. Between the white round tab and the orange opening, inspect the opening. Not shown in the picture is a metal tab that the above plastic under the reservoir is supposed to push down.

  1. After unpluging the machine from the electrical outlet, removing the drip tray, removing the top screws on the top panel, laying the machine’s grouphead on a towel on a sturdy counter, remove the screws holding the panel on the underside of the machine. Wing out the body in the center and lift upwards. As shown below, the switch with the metal tab can come during shipping. This needs to be placed back into position by ling the two holes on the switch to the two round tabs on the water tank adapter. The metal just above the red push switch needs to go under the metal tab on the plastic water tank adapter.
  2. If the water tank adapter under the reservoir platform was shredded in shipping, please let us know so we can ship you the water tank adapter.

Mara X – 3 Blinking Lights

If all 3 lights (power, water level, and heating lights) are blinking when you power on the Mara X espresso machine, this means the lever is not in the fully down vertical position. With the machine off, please bring the lever all the way down vertical. Then power up the machine. If the machine goes into power saving mode in 30 minutes, please check the instructional manual for resetting the power saving mode off.

If only the pilot light blinks and the other two lights above do not blink, then check the switch right behind the lever. make sure it is not touching. If it is, pull the lever forward until it does not touch, put the power switch on, and if the other two lights (one solid for water reservoir and one blinking for heating), this means that the switch being too far forward needs to be pushed back. The little round holding nut needs to be brought forward 1-2 full rotations, then the body needs to be removed and the nut on the other side of the switch needs to be tightened. The switch can not touch the lever.

Low Water Level Light Never Blinks

If the low water level light never blinks AFTER the tank is removed or AFTER the water level drops, then

a) the magnet in the float in the reservoir may be upside down. Remove the float’s cap and pull out the magnetic float. Make sure the darker color side is facing down.  Put back and test with water tank empty.

b) the round sensor may have dropped underneath the reservoir platform. The round sensor is to the right of the white switch. Push it up and test. Follow the double wire back the brain unit and disconnect/reconnect it to the black brain unit on the left hand side of the machine. Tug the two wires there and make sure they stay in place.
