      I have the same problem even with a new part. Somehow it does not seem to seal completely, even if well-tightened, any suggestions? Is it possible to use sealant, if so which one?

      Then the problem is the other part it connects into. Sealant should not be used.

    2. What do I need to be aware of when swapping this out in my machine? My current machine is leaking steam at the connection where this part meets the steam wand. Do I need any sealants when installing this part?

      Answered by the admin Just clean the fittings on the boiler and valve. Plumbers tape or sealant are usually not applied.
