Overview:
If you are looking for a high performance espresso coffee grinder with micrometrical adjustment of the grinding burrs and available for the most demanding situation presented by an espresso fanatic, then this is the grinder fo you. In January of 2004, Macap presented and sent three samples of this grinder to 1st-line Equipment, LLC. After evaluation, we provided some feedback on some changes needed on the M4 grinder. Unlike some other coffee grinder manufacturers, Macap made our requested changes at their cost while maintaining a very competitive price point for both the home enthusiast and the coffee shop owner. Some standout features include chrome plated steel to match polished stainless steel espresso machines and the placement of the electrical cord is under the grinder (not out of the side on the body as found on many other espresso coffee grinders).
Finally, do not feel confused between the Macap M4 and Macap M5 grinder. The M4 grinder is the newest offshoot of the Macap M5. The Macap M5 has a longer, higher bean hopper on top that makes it extend over 18 inches in height – not practical for the home. The Macap M4 was designed with a lower, but wider bean hopper profile for use in your home, office, or commercial establishments. Please note that the Macap M4 is considered a commercial-grade grinder and is not returnable under our return policy if used – as this grinder is capable for any espresso machine. Please make sure you have the necessary space before purchasing.

Please note as with all coffee grinders, it is very important to only change grind settings on Macap coffee grinders when the unit is powered ‘on’ and the burrs are in motion. If you do not do this, the burrs will ‘gunk’ up and require cleaning by you every time this occurs. Changing the grind settings when the burrs are not in motion will render the grinder to only produce very coarse grinds or no grinds at all. If this result occurs, this will be considered operator error for lack of following directions, and will not be classified as a defective grinder – meaning this is not covered under warranty. Macap grinders are considered commercial equipment for grinding coffee only and can not be returned once used.
-
Please note that the electrical cord is placed between the packaging (foam or cardboard) and the underside body of the grinder. During shipping, it is normal for a bend or insignificant blemish/slice to damage the cord.
