Since 2005, 1st-line has been working with Isomac to improve each machine – one at a time – before they are brought into the USA. Prior to this, there were some quality issues on heat exchangers inside boilers and microswitches failing. Please review the upgrades at the bottom of this page and see why so many customers are now again choosing the Isomac TEA as the premiere choice for high end home model espresso machines!
In 2010, 1st-line Equipment asked Isomac Srl to produce the TEA with the Cool Touch wand system. Both wands are cool to the touch after steaming / frothing with the steam wand or releasing hot water from the hot water wand. Although this is an important feature for some customers, it should not be the end all reason to select an espresso machine. The main reasons are that you have a very hot grouphead with a lot more surface area and that the entire package (meaning’s machine’s overall quality build with other internal and external components must be taken into consideration in the decision making process.
Isomac does not only have one flagship-but several. The Tea Electronic makes espresso’s with the touch of a button.
Everyone asks why call an espresso machine TEA? Well, in fact, the correct pronunciation is not tea (tee), but TEA (teh-ah) after one of the Greek goddesses (well maybe not Greek, but it sounded good).
Features:
- All stainless steel body throughout makes this a prize for many homes that will have guests gleen over. Polished front, side, and rear.
- Full sized commercial handles are used on the thermically-balanced (a.k.a. Faema E61) grouphead for maximized temperature stability.
- Large drip tray with handle for easy disposal and cleaning.
- Hidden small feet to maintain stability throughout.
- Two gauges on front panel indicates boiler pressure and pump pressure (when pump is engaged).
- Ergonomically designed steam knob and hot water knob for easy access.
- Easy to use touchpad. Make coffee with the press of a button.
- Passive cup warmer tray on top (cups can take up to 2 or more hours to preheat).
- Removable cover for refilling water reservoir.
- Water tank is easily removable for cleaning.
- Spring activated low water shut-off switch protects the machine when the water reservoir is near empty – the spring is superior to a magnetic float because limescale buildup can cause magnetic floats to stick in the ‘up’ position or they need replacement due to failure to float.
- Cool Touch multi-directional has a 2 hole steam tip that makes frothed milk in a snap!
- Three way manual solenoid valve allows the quick removal of the portafilter handle once the espresso extraction is terminated.
- Internal brain unit to monitor and maintain proper water level in boiler is now covered.
- Heavy-duty, stainless steel boiler is 1.4 liters large for that extra steaming power needed. Brackets on the left and right of boiler prevent it from shifting in transit.
- High wattage 1,400 watt heating element for continuous steaming power.
- Heat exchanger allows continuous espresso extractions.
- Pressure regulator maintains range of pressure in boiler (alternative pressurestat).
- Powerful 41 watt vibration pump. The included ULKA 41 watt pump only needs 1 minute rest time for every minute of pumping time whereas competing machines with a ULKA 52 watt pump needs 1.5 minutes rest time for every minute of pumping time.
- Accessories: One cup filter basket, two cup filter basket, one portafilter handle with single spout, one portafilter handle with double spout, one measuring scoop, and one plastic tamper.
