Overview

The VBM Domobar Super Analogic got a fabulous new upgrade to the previous VBM Domobar Super HX model! After all, this new version now has LED lights that appear on the interface when there is a low water level in the tank. Also, the LED lights indicate the power light on the top right. The light never turns off unless the machine is completely off. Moreover, unlike the previous VBM Domobar Super HX that has a vibratory pump, this new version has a rotary vane pump, which makes the espresso machine much quieter in use.

Additionally, the VBM Domobar Super Analogic can operate using a water tank/reservoir or direct plumbing to a water line. The espresso machine comes with a stainless steel braided hose to plumb your machine into your water line. Read more about water treatment options and basic plumbing installation requirements!

Finally, VBM has the classic and best E61 grouphead in the industry thanks to its robustness and structure!

Features

Dual Pressure Gauge

  • NEW Dual pressure gauge: The previous model had 2 small separate gauges in each corner of the front panel. The new model features a large dual gauge in the center of the front panel. This makes it easier to read and keep an eye on both. The top half indicates steam pressure. The bottom half indicates the pump operating pressure.
  • NEW Indicator lights: The previous model had separate colored indicator lights where you would have to memorize which light indicates. The new model features easy-to-understand indicator lights. The left “water” icon lights up when the water level in the tank is low. The right “lightning icon” lights up when the heating element is active.

SupManAna-grouphead

Classic VBM E61 Grouphead

  • 58mm: Thermosiphon circulation group in chromed brass, available with manual lever control on the side.
  • Constantly heated: Hot water circulates from the heat exchanger through the grouphead and back to keep the grouphead and your portafilter nice and hot. As a result, the grouphead temperature is constant and stable when compared to other groupheads that have a built-in heating element.
  • Pre-infusion: The lever next to the grouphead activates a microswitch that turns on the pump to pump water through the coffee grinds. Pulling the lever halfway up will open the valve to allow water into the grouphead without activating the pump. Please note that true pre-infusion requires a direct water connection whereby the water pressure from the waterline creates true pre-infusion.
  • NEW Flow control capable: As of 7/1/23 we preinstall a flow control kit on the grouphead ($199 value included!).

Heat Exchange System

  • Copper: The boiler is copper, which retains heat better than stainless steel. Typically copper boilers are more susceptible to limescale when compare to stainless steel boilers. Therefore, we highly recommend using a water softener.
  • Pull a shot & steam milk at the same time: Steam is always readily available. Hence, there is no wait time going from coffee to steam mode.
  • Auto-shutoff: A sensor detects the water level in the boiler. When below the threshold, the heating element shuts off to prevent it from burning out.

Switchable Tank/Direct Water Connection

  • NEW: Water tank level sensor – An empty tank symbol and a red LED light show up on the top left side of the Digital Interface when it is time to refill your tank.

Quality Design

  • NEW OPTIONAL Colored side panels – The VBM Domobar Super NOW has a variety of side panel designs that you can stylize your machine with. Check out the different colored side panels we have to offer to purchase separately!  Panels are not attached to the machine during shipping.
  • Synthetic drip tray – The drip tray on this espresso machine is glowing! Less risk of scratches on this material, unlike on metal drip trays. Additionally, the drip tray has a float that tracks the water levels. Dishwasher-safe.
  • Ergonomic knobs and levers – Contributes to accurate water dispersion and adds some personality to the VBM Domobar Super!
  • Front and feet – Stainless steel and polished to a mirror finish.

SupManAna-pump

Rotary Pump

  • Quiet operation – Rotary pumps are necessary for direct connect capable machines since vibration pumps cannot handle the incoming water pressure. The main benefit that you will experience is that they are a lot quieter.

Steam Wand/Hot Water Wand

  • Multi-directional: Allows for more movement and flexibility to steam or get hot water.
  • Rubber sleeves: A good portion of the wands are covered with a rubber sleeve which allows you to adjust the wands without burning yourself.
  • 2-hole steam tip: Allows for a slow gradual build-up of microfoam. Fewer holes mean longer steam power.
  • Rotational knobs: Allows for easier control of the intensity ramping the steaming power up or down when needed.

  • Drip tray: Please note that the drip tray is not drainable.
  • Tank Mode: The lever on the bottom needs to be turned fully left when facing the front of the machine
  • Direct Plumb Mode: Water line pressure needs to be 35 psi and no higher than 40psi. Lever on bottom turned to the right fully when facing the front of the machine. The cap needs needs to be removed on the water inlet and the 1/8" BSPP included hose needs to be connected. The other side is 3/8" BSPP.

Espresso Machine Warning:

General Espresso Machine Notes/Warnings:

  • Upon first use (tank/reservoir models): On the initial start-up (or after a long period of non-use), it is important to make sure the pump is removing water from the tank. When the machine is powered on, you will hear the pump running. After 5 seconds, squeeze the in-line hose in the tank (usually the longest hose, has a particle filter attached). if you hear a different sound, this means the pump is working correctly. If not, immediately power down the machine and contact us. For more information, visit this page General Manual Pump Priming.
  • Electrical: To avoid electrical damage to this espresso machine which is not considered a manufacturer’s defect, please acquire and install a single-outlet surge suppressor rated at 1080 joules or higher. Without the recommended surge suppressor, the espresso machine can be damaged at the power switch, the electronics, the heating element, the pressurstat, or the wiring inside. For more information, visit this page Power Protection.
  • Water: To increase the useful life and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled, purified, or reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale. For more information, visit this page Water Choice.
  • Descaling: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. Too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine. As a preventative measure, we recommend using softened water as explained in the bullet point above.
  • Backflushing: This procedure of cleaning the grouphead will need to be performed from time to time. For more information, visit this page Espresso Machine Backflush – Why 50?

Finding your part
  • Please use the parts diagrams provided below to determine the part(s) you need. Then use our search box above to find the part(s) on our website. If no results come up, more than likely we do not stock the part.
  • If uncertain, please go to the equipment model or part product page. Then use the Q&A tab found on that web page to ask your question.
  • Lastly, and only if the first 2 options were exhausted, please use our parts inquiry page.
  • Our call center does not have the training to handle parts inquiries for over 60,000 different parts items. Asking any questions regarding parts will more than likely result in you being referred to the above steps.
  • Please note also that all parts purchases are non-returnable or refundable and do not include technical support, instructions, or warranties as the purchase price of any part does not cover the cost of technical support. Technical support is available for repairing equipment in our shop.
  • Sorry, we will only special order a part for a model we carry AND was purchased through our supply chain.
  • Since we are unaware of the mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing expertise of a parts buyer or the tools owned by a parts buyer, we are never able to advise if a self-repair can be performed.

May you recommend a water filtration solution for the VBM Super Analogic in reservoir use? I intend to direct connect it eventually but need a stand-in/by solution. Thank you for your time

Osmotic pak. We sell them made by BILT.

    2. Can you clarify whether the dimensions listed on the site, especially the depth measurement, refer only to the body of the machine (i.e. from the front of the drip tray to the back) or include extended wands or maybe the mounted portafilter handle? I ask because the numbers make it seem substantially deeper than other machines, while in the images it looks relatively compact.

It is a long machine, and the measurements we take usually do not include the wands, nor the portafilter.
