Answered by the admin For backflushing only. Descalers, although not recommended by us unless there is an issue, as used to run through the water reservoir. Hence, water softeners for the tank should be used to prevent limescale build up.

Urnex Cafiza is strictly for backflushing or backwashing espresso machines with a suitable three-way valve to release the pressure buildup once the backflushing is completed. Urnex Cafiza is also for overnight soaking or cleaning of the filter baskets as well as the inside metal portion of the portafilters.

Urnex Cafiza is NOT for descaling. We have other products for descaling and are based on the intensity of the scale build up as well as the equipment.
