Overview:

Tall cup version with a large 1.5 liter boiler makes this machine a steal! With the semi-automatic version, the barista starts and stops the espresso extraction. Combined with a low profile and did we say SKINNY width of 9 3/4″, this machine will be placed in many home espresso bars, offices, and small commercial establishments that need a BIG punch for the small size!

Features:

  • Brushed stainless steel body panel with enamel painted rugged frame. Top removable panel and water reservoir cover (with porthole) made in stainless steel.
  • Horizontal swivel steam wand and fixed hot water wand.
  • Separate shut-off valves for hot water wand and steam wand.
  • Removable water reservoir with two hoses – one for intake and one for the overpressure valve.
  • Water softener included to reduce limescale deposits inside the machine.
  • Boiler pressure gauge measures boiler steam pressure (0 – 3 bar) with normal operation between 0.8 and 1.25.
  • Solid, thermal-balanced brass brewing group with 3-way solenoid valve.
  • Automatic self-leveling circuitry to automatically refill the boiler.
  • Safety thermostat helps reduce damage to the heating element if the boiler is run dry.
  • Water tank with low water level alarm.
  • Removable drip tray for easy cleaning.
  • Chrome-plated brass portafilter handle aids in temperature stability of the extraction.
  • Stainless steel drip tray grate.
  • Boiler pressure safety valve on boiler.

  • WATER WARNING: To increase the useful life of and not damage your espresso machine, please use softened water. Softened water is water without calcium and without magnesium, but still has other minerals for espresso extraction. Do not use distilled water, purified water, nor reverse osmosis water as these types of water create oxidation with the metals and cause the same damaging effects as limescale.
  • DESCALING WARNING: We do not recommend descaling unless there is an issue with the espresso machine. The reason is that too much descaling can eat away at the metals and gaskets inside an espresso machine.

    2. Hi! I bought one of these machines from you in late 2017. A few months later, in early 2018, the pressure gauge stopped working, although the machine still seems to work just fine: One has to "guess" how many BAR one is working at, and it's a bit frustrating brewing "blind." I had called prior, and a couple times last year, and had thought the part was being ordered. I am simply following up, and hoping I can get a gauge or get pointed in the right direction, perhaps, to get one as soon as possible. ;) In any event, I believe Jim also advised when I spoke to him about the gauge that a knuckle-dragging lawyer (read: lesser ape) should be able to install it himself (i.e., I should be up to the task!). In any event, if someone could get back to me as soon as possible, I'd really appreciate it! Have a great week!

    Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, some parts take a long time. We do have this on our next order. We are unsure how long it will take to get here.
    3. Hello, I am interested in the Magister MS40 with the HX and it is a little tough to find specifics. Copper boiler? Is the model still in production?

    This is a discontinued model. There is a vertical copper boiler inside.
