Thank you for your response. One last question, Is there a difference other than aesthetic between the polished and unpolished boiler?

Sorry, we are not sure.
To be more specific. The boiler developed a crack on the cone fitting that attached the grouphead return line to the boiler. I have been unable to source a supplier of these fittings so I can not repair the boiler. If I use the newer Gen 2 boiler will I need to replace the steam and hot water valves as well or will my older valves fit in the valve body that is on the new boiler? Several other parts including the brain unit, pressurestat and low water sensor have been replaced over the years along with routine group head seal replacement and other than the leak the machine works well. I am trying to get a realistic cost for repairing this unit so I can determine whether to repair or replace.

From the looks of it, the boiler is interchangeable across their changes.
I have an early version PV Lusso one group that I bought from you 10 years ago. Do I need to replace the water and steam valves to work with this boiler or will my existing ones work with this? What other parts/gaskets should be replaced when I replace the boiler?

Thanks for the inquiry and sorry to hear about the 10 year old machine needing a new boiler. We are unsure if the new boiler will need to be retrofitted to the older machine. We do not think it does, but then again, Ponte Vecchio had and has very poor schematics as it is a small company.
Without seeing the machine for evaluation in person, it becomes difficult to honestly recommend parts that need replacement. For instance, there could be a worn down grouphead. Or, the brain unit may be going soon. These are just some examples as a machine ages past 10 years.
