Please see SKU MC747PLUS.

The Lelit In Tank Water Softener needs to be recharged once every 35 liters or less water passing through or minimum once per month. Fits most Lelit espresso machines and other brand espresso machines.

This water softener helps remove limescale causing agents and minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, from the water. This softener does NOT filter the water for chlorine, other mineral particulates, etc just as most water filters do not soften the water.

Please remove this softener when descaling to avoid damage. In most cases, the Lelit water softener needs  should be replaced once a year minimum. Replaces PLA930S.

Please note that water softeners are not returnable under our return policy.

This is the water softener that comes with the Lelit Elizabeth. I recently purchased a elizabeth and it has been fantastic. The elizabeth seems to however have a tighter inlet hose and causes the inlet hose to split a little bit when attaching this filter. Mine has split and had to be trimmed 1/4' of an inch. I have talked to others in the home espresso aficionados group and 4 other users of the Lelit Elizabeth have spoken up with the same issue of the filter harming the inlet hose. Do you know of any adapters to fix this or any solutions? I was thinking of the BILT Cloth limescale reducer in the small size if it fits in the lelit reservoir could be a solution.

Sorry for the delay. This is the response from Lelit:

"Yes, that hose is tight and needs to be so, otherwise the pump vibrations may cause the disconnection of the filter.

As for the other case, cutting a small piece and continue using the LELIT filter is the right solution. We do not recommend other filters because we did not test them and have no lab report to confirm values during use and in time."

At 1st-line, we start the filter angling into the hose. Otherwise, we have cut a V shape at the end of the hose.

    2. Is there an alternative to this filter that will work with a MaraX? This one has been out of stock for quite a while and my filter needs replacement soon.

    6. Will this filter fit a MaraT? I have a reservoir/tank with a small round fill hole. The pick-up tube and the nipple on the filter seem to be the same size. If so, what size hose should I get to make an adapter?

We have inspected the resins and they are the same as our other water softeners. We have thousands of customers who have done this recharging. The main point is to replace the resin cartridge every 6 months to avoid build up. In addition, this stems form commercial water softeners used on espresso machines in coffee shops. Furthermore, does one replace all the resins in a whole house water softener? No, there is the addition of salt. You can read more about this. Hence, our belief is different than Lelit's determination.

However, if you feel their point is stronger than ours, then please go ahead and replace the cartridge every 35 liters as we would love selling you extra. However, we will not like you filling up the landfills with more garbage if not necessary!

    24. From the description it seems like this just needs to be recharged every 35L. When is replacing it warranted (other than obvious damange, leaking resins, etc)?

Replacement required every 6 months, just like refrigerators. The reason is to avoid build up of mold, fungus, or bacteria in the cartridge. Even though the water passed through a vessel at greater than 180 degrees F kills most of these, we prefer not to have a reservoir growing these organisms. In addition, the water reservoir should be hand washed with non-abrasive dish wash detergent and sponge every 2 weeks minimum.

A With respect to previous responder, they work just fine in my experience , although for a shorter time. Fitting are correct, and the water line is sufficiently long
A The 70 liter version is the one supplied with this machine; but I've found that the 35 liter version fits and works well.
