Lelit MC747Plus In Tank Water Softener / Particle Filter (70 L)
This water softener (MC747PLUS) is for all Lelit espresso machine models. This part replaces the MC747 water softener, which Lelit no longer manufactures.
The Lelit In-Tank Water Softener needs to be recharged once every 70 liters, less water passing through, or monthly.
The Lelit In Tank Water Softener removes limescale-causing agents and minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, from the water. This softener does NOT filter the water for chlorine, other mineral particulates, etc just as most water filters do not soften the water.
Please remove this softener when descaling to avoid damage. In most cases, you should replace the Lelit water softener every 6 months (updated May 31, 2019) at a minimum.

My Pump has gotten noisy and flow seems to have slowed a bit, could it be I need to replace cartridge? I think it's only been 20 liters so far.

Lelit no longer manufacturer the MC747. They do say that the MC747PLUS is compatible.

Currently, the 70 liter can be used until we get more inventory of the 35l.

Sorry, it usually will not fit the opening of the reservoir.
We purchased a Lelit Elizabeth from you in December, 2022. It came with the MC747 filter, which now seems to be discontinued. Can we use this MC747Plus in a Lelit Elizabeth? Thanks.

I have a Lelit PL62S Mara and am wondering if I can use this 70L larger version. On 3/19/20, the answer given is "yes" for this specific machine, but on 3/12/21 the answer given is "no" for the MaraX (which I'm assuming is the same type of machine, but perhaps I'm wrong?). Just seeking clarification, as I purchased this 70L version some time ago and now want to use it for my Lelit PL62S, but don't want to risk stressing the pump. Thank you.

Lelit says the 70 liter can be used on their other machines.
Does the 70lt. Lelit water softener also fit the Lelit Grace PL81T? Or do you recommend the 35lt softener for that machine? What is the difference other than the lt capacity?

The 70 liter is only for the Bianca which has a rotary pump at the time o this writing. The 70 liter may put too much stress on a vibration pump, like that found on the Grace.
What is the ETA for 70L softener filter? My Lelit Bianca will have a 1-year anniversary next month, so I would like to buy a new filter as recommended.

The 35 liter version is the recommended one. The reason is that this 70 liter version may put more strain on the pump.
As the person asking on March 18th of this year, I, too, have a Lelit Diana. I phoned last week and the MC747PLUS 70 lt. was recommended. Today I tried installing and the hose dia is too narrow. Is there a recommendation for getting the filter to fit?
Also, there was no instructions about recharging the filter. Does it need this?

In the description of this item, there is a link to recharge.
It can difficult at first to insert the hose onto the water softener. It is best to dip 1 inch of the hose in scalding hot water to soften it.

Maybe, but we are hesitant as they may not work to Lelit's specifications.
I am using Five Senses Coffee 70/30 water recipe which results in the following water chemistry using distilled water: 70 ppm NaHCO3 and 30 ppm MgSO4, 42 ppm total alkalinity, 25 ppm hardness as calcium carbonate, 50 ppm bicarbonate ion, 6 ppm Mg2+ ion. If I used this Lelit filter in my Bianca, I understand that it will result in an ion exchange of sodium for magnesium. If that is correct, and if my water contains little or no calcium, do I need to use this or any other softener filter? I had been using straight RO water, but now want to use a this water recipe using Epsom salts and Baking Soda. If I understand correctly, I am a little risk of any scale or machine damage by using no filter. Furthermore, using this Lelit filter would be counter-productive to my water receipt and would not provide additional protection to my machine. Is that correct? — Thank you, Wayne Ruff

Sorry, we can only recommend using the softener as provided with the machine. Sorry, the choice of water is yours, and we are unable to agree as we do not want to be responsible if damage occurs from the water. If the desired water is not suitable, the machine will eventually show limescale or oxidation.

Last we checked, the 70 liter fit.
This filter has been out of stock for some time now--at least since October. Do you have an ETA on when you'll have more in stock? My current filter is at its 6-month mark.
