I have a Lelit Bianca from 2018. It's been wonderful but a few weeks ago I began to notice that the steam boiler is heating very slowly and is very slow to recover after steaming milk. I suspected scale and ran descaler 3 times. I then replaced the steam boiler heating element and also verified that there is no scale in the boiler or on the old heating element. Both the the old and new heating elements have similar ohms readings too. So, what could be left? The brain unit? Thanks for your help, Jim!

Sorry to hear this. I would suggest checking the steam pipe and steam valve for any blockage. Also, check the bleeder valve and safety valve for any leaks. Lastly, reset the machine to manufacturer settings as the PID settings may have gone off or accidentally changed.

A The problem of slow heating wasn't resolved by a reset of the LCC, descaling, or replacing the heating element. In the end it was the solid state relay. I had assumed it would fail in either an off or on position but instead it just dramatically reduced the voltage delivered to the heating element which caused the incredibly slow heating. In the end the boiler would only reach 211F - 212F which create a simmer that wasn't strong enough to close the vacuum breaker valve. This was isolated by swapping the coffee and boiler relays and the slow heating followed the bad relay so the coffee boiler heated slowly...but it would get there so I can brew! Still waiting on the new relay. It was ordered on the 5/13 but didn't make it to the postal system until 4 days later. Should arrive on 5/23!
